    Seems like I found too many ways to make it more difficult then it needed to be. Great video without all the extra nonsense. Dual camera was a big help also. You saved me a lot of time. Thank you.

    Thanks a bunch for this video. I feel like this is much simpler than other methods I watched. No special tools, just a second person. I had a small water bottle that I was able to put over the end of my bleeder valve and it kept everything contained. With this technique, my 11 year old son and I were able to bleed the breaks using nothing more than an 8mm crescent wrench. Thanks again.

    Helpful to see what's going on when no tubing is connected, showing steady flow when air is pumped out. The mistake was actually very helpful for newbies to see too...nice!

      One thing, i've been told not to let the pedal all the way down cause it could damage the cylinder or something along those lines? Is there any validity to that?

    After struggling to do my rear brakes, i now need to do this. Learned the hard way some vehicle calibers twist in, and using force and a vice doesn't push them in 😂 opened the valve to release pressure and definitely let some air in. Oh well, I have now mastered my brake changes through error!

I the wife will be doing the pumping and my husband will be doing the bleeding portion. I guess that's what you call that procedure. 😆👲👩🚙 Again thanks for your video with the steps that are easy and to the point for people like us who know nothing about fixing vehicles and are wanting to try everything we can before we take it to a auto shop and spend money we can't afford to spend right now. Great little vid, there was only one thing missing and that was "when bleeding brakes you should start from the wheel furthest away for the master cylinder & booster then work your way to the closest" e.g back left, back right, front left then front right all depending on where your master cylinder is. Other than that, your vid it's informative and easy for people with little or no experience 👍

    It might be wise to keep from pushing the brake pedal all the way to the floor, as the master cyl. piston gets in the bore where it has never been before, where there may be pits or crap that will cause the master cyl. piston seals to leak. This does not happen very often though.

      @@MudRFunR Everything went well. The bolts for the callipers were hard to get off, bought a long torgue wrench which really helped. Replaced callipers and rotors. Save at least $600.00. Neighbour helped with bleeding the brakes.

    My neighbor bleed my brakes and we have a 2001 chevy silverado brake pedal is going down to floor when stopping I have to pump them to stop can u give advice

    • @MudRFunR
      @MudRFunR  5 лет назад

      It's hard to answer that without knowing exactly what your neighbor did. First thing I would look for is any leaks in your brake lines. It would be very noticeable. Make sure you check to see if the fluid is full.

    Thanks for the video. Don't you run the risk of sucking in some air when you let the fluid spurt out rather than using a hose attached to bleed valve at one end and dipping into a bottle of brake fluid on other?

    • @MudRFunR
      @MudRFunR  5 лет назад +5

      No. that is why you hold the brake down until the bleeder is closed. Let the pedal back up only when the bleeder is closed so air won't come back in.

      Thanks, so this really works? Must be fully bled when the air bubbles stop?

      @glennmanchester1568 5 лет назад

      Yes sir when the air bubbles stop and since the hose is down in the brake fluid when you. Let the pedal up it cant possibly suck in air .. an old Vietnam vet taught me that along with many many many other things over the ten years we lived near each other his garage was where I could always be found he could build a Harley from a frame a couple of wheels and some milk crates full of parts more than one 383 stroker motor came out of that garage and he taught me very well how to change out ring and pinion sets and install limited slip carriers he favored Auburn units and they do make a good one to my good friend harold reeb rest in peace buddy and thank you thank you thank you for passing on some of your knowledge..

      I dont mind at all when it comes to chevys especially I'm a walking chiltons manual lol. I had a lot of them and olsmobiles and pontiacs as well loved the 400 and 455 Pontiac motors back in the day a good running 455 out of a grand prix or some other full size car was 200 bucks all day and when you put them in something a lot lighter I even put one in a chevy square body one time now that would really surprise most camaros and mustang's lol talk about mouth open !! How what the ? What you got in that thing ? Geez i spent 1500 bucks building this 350 and you just made me look bad ! I said yep for 200 bucks and if i do blow it up which took a lot i would just go get another one lol i had 2 or 3 in the shed at one time just waiting for the chance to be used a Pontiac Ventura came with 350 Pontiac motors well same same same on the outside plug and play lol always big torque monsters for cheap monies

    • @MudRFunR
      @MudRFunR  9 лет назад +1

      MAD2202dpd Only bleed them if you take the line off the caliper. For just pad and rotor replacement there is no need to remove the line.

      MudRFunR well said,
      When changing brake bads you really don't need the brake lines off,
      If you make the mistake I did when I first tried you'll need to bleed .. oh the joys.
