First, I LOVE the effect you got with the black and rainbow yarns. Secondly, I'm brand new to using a knitting loom and I have that exact same one from KB (LOVE it!). I learned SOOOOO much from watching this tutorial. I haven't made the hat/cowl you did here, but I'm using some cheap yarn to learn with and OMGosh, I feel a lot more confident that I'll be able to produce some nice looking items after watching this. Thank you SO much!!! You showed EVERYTHING in perfect detail without being "boring". Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! (Liked, Subbed, and even downloaded it so I can find it again easier, lol)
Thank you so much ... Made me tear up a bit lol . I love to teach and it makes me feel really good to hear that I'm able to help people. I have a section of playlists and have one specifically for this loom. I think it's a fun loom. KB is a good brand.
Hi Amanda, I've watched both the hat and the cowl/neck warmer videos, and wanted to say thanks for them both. I noticed you have them in the 'Education Category' so I wanted to let you know what I learned, lol. 1. The purpose of the 2 KB Loom picks and how to use them effectively. I have them, and found interest in the fact that you noticed one end is a tad longer. I'm right handed, so wouldn't have noticed that it would be different for a person who is left handed. 2. How to not put a knot in your yarn when adding it in..thats helpful for me, I hate the knots! 3. Not starting in the same spot, i'm wondering is that to prevent 'laddering'? 4. Starting on the inside first, and the reasons for that. 5. How to do a Stockinette stitch. 6. How to do a Flat Stitch. 7. How to do the decreases, and that I can do that over more than one row. 8. Using a second color. and finally, how to do a flat top pull string cast off. I couldn't find the PDF you mention in either of the videos. Thanks again for a great video!
Yes you can use the 60 peg topper :-) I will have to go back and look at the video to see what loom if it's on the rotating loom the inner and outer looms are different gauges, not by much. Just enough to have the same number of pegs on both looms.
I did mine in lion Brand wool ease thick and quick because I was using it for a blanket and when I got to decreasing it was impossible to transfer the stitches as they were just too tight. I even bent my hook trying. Ended up pulling it all out. Going to try with thinner yarn.
I made a mistake on using thick with this machine and it was too small. More like a youth hat. So I'm going to try with a #4 but not sure about it. Want to make cowl first
Yeah, I made the mistake of using a wool blend to end it with. Wool does NOT stretch well and I almost broke pegs on my loom trying to move them over. I ended up having to go around and loosen all the stitches on the pegs just to get them moved over. I wish we had been warned this might be an issue with non-stretchy yarns... such as to do the last rows around the outside pegs very LOOSELY or something. I use looms for knitting because of arthritis... this was NOT good for my arthritis. I made a few of these hats a couple years ago with acrylic 4-weight yarn with NO problem... so it's just the non-stretchy wool blend that is the problem here.
I want to make a baby hat out of this stitch. Can i use this loom if not i have the multi Adjustable can i use this please asapbthanks for the video. I have the blanket done w/bernat baby blanket yarn
The size other video makes is the smallest the loom goes unless you work in a flat panel instead of in the round. The you would need to stitch the back side closed (mattress seam is my favorite)
hallo in ihrem video haben sie hinter sich einen ganz großen srickring aus holz hängen kann ich so was bei ihen kaufen ? oder wiesen sie wo ich so was bekome sorry spreche kein englisch
Nvm my question....I found the answer in the cowl video. I hadnt seen that because I wasnt subscribed to you yet. I found you when searching for loom knitting!
I'm glad you found it! Here is a link to my FB business page. I am getting ready to do a live video loom-a-long and try to post updates and such facebook.com/TheHypnoticHysteria/

Thanks for sharing, I just bought a KB Rotating Loom and learning the differences between this one and the regular round looms. Hugs
That’s just what’s needed now in the pandemic of COVID-19
The only problem I have with this knitting loom is that I keep going and make things too big. It works up fast ❤️
Awesome video, I am definitely going to make this set. Thank You for a great pattern and video!
Can I use the topper to make it bigger Also what gauge are you using for the red ish one that is striped

Great video..I was wondering how to make this hat for a child. Would it be too big on the rotating loom? Thank you. I am a newbie loomer!
Teen + would be fine. Small child will be too big. I made my daughter a super cute neck warmer with it though
Thank you so much for teaching us the best way.

What is the name of the rainbow yarn?
Can you come up with some more patterns. Thanks
Can you use double loom knitting hock on round loom ?
There is a style of socks where it is made flat and the sides you seam up. But, in the round the loom is too large.
Thanks
Amanda, i love your video! You said you can do the figure 8 stitch for the whole hat. Is that correct? And bind off the same way?
What color yarn are you using
It has been so long ago I don't remember 🤦 it's the caron cake yarn I believe.
