OpenTTD is a business simulation game in which players try to earn money via transporting passengers and freight by road, rail, water and air. It is an open-source remake and expansion of the 1995 Chris Sawyer video game Transport Tycoon Deluxe.
OpenTTD duplicates most features of Transport Tycoon Deluxe and has many additions, including a range of map sizes, support for many languages, custom (user-made) artificial intelligence (AI), downloadable customisations, ports for several widely used operating systems, and a more user-friendly interface. OpenTTD also supports local area network (LAN) and Internet multiplayer, co-operative and competitive, for up to 255 players.
OpenTTD is free and open-source software licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2.0 and is under ongoing development. According to a study of the 61,154 open-source projects on SourceForge in the period between 1999 and 2005, OpenTTD ranked 8th most active open-source project to receive patches and contributions. In 2003 or 2004, development moved to their own server. Since 2018, the project uses GitHub for its source repository and bug tracker.

The idea of a zone where you can't mess with the land has gotten me thinking about starting to play that way myself in future OpenTTD saves, only leveling land for stations and otherwise dealing with the landscape as it and potentially having to use more bridges and tunnels instead of making the massive gashes or embankments that I usually do to keep the line as level as possible.

Some time ago during a viewer's game someone used a 3-line station in/out that easily adapts to a 6-line station. Essentially the input line is the center line and the outputs are the two outside lines. Due to the signaling, if a train is leaving, the input train can go into one of the open stations. I also use two segments of rail in front of stations as this will allow the incoming trains to clear the switches due to when they slow down on station entry.

I've noticed you call Czechia (Czech Republic) as Chechnya (Russian region, ruled by infamous Ramzan Kadyrov), and I'm sure it is not the first time I hear that from you. I know you have dyslexia, and I don't mean any offence, it's just that some Czech people might get upset 😉 Anyway, hi from Russia, loving your videos so far, actually playing along S10 with you since yesterday.

I understand the need for depots when playing with breakdowns on, but why is it necessary have have them so close to the station? Do siding style depots on the connecting lines not suffice?

I don't always put depots next to the station it depends on the space and how long the line is etc. I don't know whether they cause too much of a slow down stations because trains are already stopping and starting out of the platforms maybe this is something I could look into a bit more
