Sorry for the re-upload, the outro song got claimed and I had to re-edit the outro sequence. I'm not sure if it matters either way, but I really don't want risk potentially losing an old channel that I care about a lot. All in all, this took around 3 straight weeks to edit, not including the time it took to record gameplay. I could have just swapped the audio, but it seemed like a lazy solution. I put a lot of effort into making these videos as good as possible, including syncing audio, providing unique visuals and gameplay, and making sure the final project is "complete". Audio swaps take away intentional detail and overall reduce the quality of the final product.
Considering Transport Tycoon's history goes back to 1992 and OpenTTD to roughly the turn of the century, I'd say it's a very weird Factorio mod indeed! 🤣
Memories of my busiest OpenTTD games... Imagine living on an island with maybe 30% of the islands land area covered in railway track, and multiple tunnels running the width of the island too!
I'm a casual OpenTTD player and don't do complex cargo lines, but I absolutely enjoy watching other people create a massive spaghetti-like networks. Watching trains running in that maze tingles my brain good EDIT: Sorry, I made this comment before 21:33. You're insane
This is absolutely crazy! I’ve been playing Transport Tycoon/OpenTTD on and off for nearly 25 years and while I can build a pretty hectic network, this (and your other playthroughs) are on a **completely** different level. I can’t wait to see what else you’re cooking up! Seriously impressive work :)
Loving the part where you drew diagrams of what changes you were making to a junction, more of that would be neat. Also absolutely loved the outro thing you made, I appreciate all the work that went into this.
2:08 you can change the settings so only primary industries spawn and you need to pay to build 2' and 3' industries. I don't remember exactly where this setting is found as I haven't played in a while but this is my preferred way to play with some industry sets Edit: now that I've thought about it some more it may be a setting in the newgrf itself. But I'm fairly certain there's a way to do this in vanilla too Edit 2: there's the funding only setting combined with letting the player fund new primary industries in either random or set locations. Though this isn't quite what I was looking for
in JGR, there is a setting to limit it to primary industries only. Vanilla scenarios on MP servers also sometimes set up scenarios where they manually delete every secondary industry
Your original OpenTTD series along with these last two amazing videos inspired me to download the game and give it a shot again for the first time in years. I've had so much fun learning about this completely different type of brutally efficiency-focused design and it's got me thinking about this game in a whole new light (the signal logic in this video blows my mind!!). Thanks for the entertaining videos my guy :)
woke up this morning, saw this at the top of my feed, instant watch. one question - when it come to openttd... can you miss? are you capable of not producing a banger?? thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through
Reposting my comment to get you the sweet, sweet engagement you deserve Quality video, I love seeing monorails get some love, and the deep-dive into logic circuits was very fun
Great video, and I'm excited for the next one! I have a suggestion - idk if you've already played the Wasteland GRF set, but it definitely seems suited to your content. An interesting progression system and a lot of scalability
This video is fantastic! As a (very) amateur OpenTTD player, I could understand everything you were doing well enough, and the things I didn't you explained to a point where I could at least pretend I did. Made me pick up the game again! Although unfortunately, I don't have the same commitment you do to a runthrough :( The thing I'm impressed by is how you make creating junctions seem almost effortless. Figuring out where trains are going and coming from to properly fill out the junction gives me such a headache that I often take shortcuts, which of course end up biting me when the network gets saturated with trains. How do you do it? Is there some secret I don't know about??? My throughput suffers as a result of my laziness! Again, great video! I'm excited to watch the ringworld one next!
Junctions come with practice! After a while you'll pick up on similar patterns and ways to save space. I definitely recommend tackling the left turns first, as they have the most crossovers.
there is a setting that makes it so that the map only generates primary industries. it's helpful but it makes it so that you have to fund the secondary industries yourself.
If you want to try a firs playthrough wile maintaining a set finished goal, firs Steeltown has that end goal of producing a substantial car manufacturing network. Its more challenging than this, because of the many, many industries, and might be better suited for a multiple episode series. reaching something like 200 cars per month, or something like that would be a good goal. Firs 5 steeltown just released, but if you want the same challenge but a bit simpler, firs 4, or firs 3 might have less industry.
I've played OpenTTD on and off since 2004, only really forgetting about it when I got into Kerbal Space Program in 2019. I didn't know there was a rocket mod, it's great to see it! :D But I usually prefer very open-ended play and thoroughly debugged mods, so I don't know if I'd play it. Hahaha! The caption at 22:28 ! Yeah... I've been trying to understand logic circuits since maybe 2006 or 2007 and I still struggle to build them and to think how to use them. I can tweak and tune hotspots in complex networks all day, but logic? That requires my _brain!_ XD Nice use of a ROM for a 7-segment decoder. It saves a lot of brain-explodium. A friend showed me it in maybe 2005. -logic engines irl when- -the only good use for the hyperloop- 34:52 7-segment display declared greater than Apollo program. My life is complete! 🤣 I use patches for signals on bridges and tunnels. (JGR.PP 4ÐǷ!) I can work without them, but _why?_ My first big long-running game got so much better when I upgraded the entire map to maglev, and that was without knowing what I was doing with junctions. The greater power to weight ratio helped a lot. Later, cutting down train length also helped. Oh, those times when improving X means you want to improve Y, then Z, then back to X... :) I've built so many tunnels where they really shouldn't go, especially under coal mines. WOOO 1000 launches! Awesome! :D I love the end scenes too.

Pro tips, upload the music as private or the other thing and see if it’s claimed so you knozw which song is claimed ✌️😎
@@Lama___ I had it scheduled to go public a couple hours after uploading the file, somehow it didn't get detected until it went public 😥

i was wondering about that. I paused to go mow the lawn and came back to video not available haha

this is not Factorio this is OpenTTD

Trains and building rockets
Man casually builds working logic circuit in game.
Just like minecraft but a little bit smaller
That train logic is wild, and seeing it used for a semi-practical purpose here is especially neat.

I think you are the only guy these days that do these complex openttdcoop-like builds. Nice job dude and really appreciate these videos.
This guy created a computer using trains only to display the number of rockets 😂. I love it 🚀
I'm so glad you stuck to the single video for the playthrough, this was a joy to watch. The preview for the next video is terrifying.
16:10 very SUStainable train junction infrastructure
Bro made a fully functional 21 segment electronic circuit in OpenTTD and thought we wouldnt notice.
And yes, you did in fact peak with this one.
Loving the part where you drew diagrams of what changes you were making to a junction, more of that would be neat. Also absolutely loved the outro thing you made, I appreciate all the work that went into this.
Great video! The FIRS steeltown economy does have an end goal. It is about producing vehicles that need 4 tertiary inputs.
Wait wth? I gotta get this industry set!
Also, I absolutely love the naming convention that you have for your junctions
OTTD exceeds as an educational game.

Rocket? I hardly know it!
you can overcome the turn slowdown by having enough spare hp to overcome it. Its the tactic I use late game with maglev on Marko's hard servers.
Let's add some more trains!
A ring world would open up new circuitry options.
