Great demonstration as always, Dom🔥Since it seems you chose epic choir libs on BEST SERVICE, let me mention more libs!
Storm Choir Ultimate is great. Audio Imperia and Performance Samples' Chorus is as great as SCU. You should compare them!
Spitfire Audio's Eric Whitacre Choir has the silkiest recordings. I love it.
Orchestral Tools is good at recording choirs. Metropolis Ark series, TIME series, Tallinn, etc. They also have soul voices in LA Sessions.
Zero-G's Ethra series is different. They have a lot of soloists for modern scoring scenes. They are pretty useful.
The last one I want to mention is 8dio's Emperium Choir Bundle (the parent of Lacrimosa) The recordings are bad, but no other library can beat the 200-piece epic sound. Unfortunately, the product is discontinued for now. You can purchase Lacrimosa, its smaller version.
VSL's Synchron-ized Choir is detailed, but I'm waiting for Synchron Choir. I hope you'll review it when it's out!
That's it! Thanks so much for reading😁

Dom, I just wanna say that this content and topic just came on the very right time as my next purchase will be a couple of choir libs because I am deeply lacking choir sounds in my studio. I only have Ark1 and Lacrimosa choir libs, can you believe that? haha But the thing that really satisfied me the most is that I wrote almost 50 tracks in the last 2 years with only these choir sounds I have and 8 tracks were accepted and cataloged by a music library. In other words, I practically experienced the "Less is More" rather than verbally. But again, I will be buying more choir sounds (men, women and children) to expand my writings even further.

The fact that most libraries right off the bat are specifically designed for Kontakt and Kontakt ONLY is one of those things that infuriates the hell out of me to this day. I realize Kontakt is one of things that most professional music developers have, but it’s not something that *everyone* necessarily wants or needs to have. And personally I’d just like to buy a sample library without having to drop an additional $300 just to have access to the Kontakt player. I mean, there’s plenty of other players out there so how come we just pretend like none of them exist?

So what do you do if you don't play keyboards? I'm a stringed instrument guy. I do have a free plugin called Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra where I was able to create some male OOH and AAAH background voices in a song of mine that turned out well, using my MIDI Keyboard Controller, where I was at least able to "hunt and peck" the notes on the keyboard. The Fortuna that you played toward the end, where you referenced "The Name of the Rose"---a fantastic movie too by the way----, had a Gregorian Chant sound to it, which I used to really love hearing, as it was so soothing. THANKS! interesting video.

If I were you, I wouldn't buy their libraries. Their playability and sounds are terrible. Silka was a big mistake for me since SA's Eric Whitacre Choir sounds perfect. There are better libraries these days. One thing that impressed me is the epicness of Emperium Choir (Lacrimosa) No other lib can beat the epic 200-piece sound!
If you're looking for symphonic soloists, Storm Choir Ultimate has some. In modern scores, I use Zero-G's Ethra series!

Is there any choir libraries that focus more on a simplistic "pop" sound. These are without doubt all beutifull choirs for cinematic scoring, but even I love the way eg Hollywood choirs work with the worldbuilder it's a bit over the top for making normal pop songs, even I have seen videos on how wordbuilder can be used for more "every day" pop songs if youst happen to miss a couple backing vocals.
Btw. loved to see you presented the Soundiron Olympus, as I first heard this in the special "Kronos" version and that was first time I heard a usable choir sound for a synth, untill I saw and heard how much more advanced it was in the full Kontakt version.

I use Cubase 12 pro. And I watched your video on how to connect keyboard to a PC in cubase. In the video cubase showed your exact keyboard picture when you were on the midi cintrol view. I have a Roland Fantom-8, I use presonus 1824c as my audio interface. I run both midi out to my Audio interface. How come my mindo control does not show my keyboard on the screen like it did in your video, in the video you said watch as I plud in the connection and cubase instally knows then boom your keyboard is now showing inside the daw with keys and all. Mine just says connected and shows 4 big ass black circles [ i guess these can be assigned to control expressions from keyboard or w/e, but How come mine doesnt show a keyboard in the midi control tab at the bottom where you can click on console in Cuabse. Please for the love of god can you help me figure out why I get a box with 4 circles which look like a black dial.
I want to see my keyboard like yours showed. What am I doing wrong. I will pay you for your time through your channel if you are able to respond. I'm spent and have spent hours trying to figure this out. Already put flash drive in the FA-8 to update it to connect with PC. In cubase 12 pro it says under " studio tab, midi device it shows connected.

Hi Dom, I’m laying down relatively long scripture, choral pieces. I lay down the entire piano part, and then I want to add the choral lines one section at a time. I’m working with East west Hollywood voices. I learned very quickly that you can’t punch in and out using the
word builder so I’m trying to find a solution. I did a physical loop back so I could record sections on an audio track, but the beauty of the Hollywood voices is degraded. I’m doing some research on virtual loop back it just seems a little daunting. Is that how you would do it? Any advice would be very helpful. I have to get these long scripture compositions in audio form pronto. it’s my retirement project, I turn 72 soon! I’m using cakewalk by band lab. Thank you.

Hi! What is the model of the keyboard you're using? Do I get it right that it has additional sensor lane controller under pitch and mod wheels?

Hi Dom! Does the Cantus VST have a wordbuilder within the meaning that you can type in whatever you want?

Can I ask how you’re getting both the male wb multi and female wb multi to play at the same time? ( 5:28 )
I’ve gotten choirs to play at the same time before but for some reason when I use the wordbuilder it doesn’t seem to give me the same options.

I don’t know Dom’s process, but you could use two tracks listening to the same MIDI input. With that you could even configure filters and stuff so there is less overlapping. That also helps if the male and female don’t have exactly the same phrasing and you need to configure the phonetics differently.
