    Normally 먹고 (먹다 + 그리고) is "eat and..."
    However, if a past-tensed verb comes right after 먹고, like 먹고 잤다... then it means "ate and slept."

    I really like to listen to a Korean speaking their native tongue.. just that.. because somehow, I know we can adopt the way they speak, (e.g. proper pronunciation, intonation). I have been learning the language for three years now and still struggling a lot. Learning a language is like Math, it is hard but fulfilling when achieved with flying colors. I have no one to speak with to learn and no one is anxious to study with me.. it is hard but I really wanted to learn this third language.

    Good question. Actually, 들다 and 든다 doesn't really matter in this case. (You'd probably know it but still I just have to mention that 들다 is the basic form of 든다.) However, if you wanna say the sames thing in past-tense, then it should be like "디자인이 맘에 들었는데, 그거 얼마였어?" (I liked the design, but how much was that by the way? ...들었다+그런데)

    Hi, is there any difference between saying 슬펐어 and 슬펐다? Or saying for example, 좋아 or 좋다? I guess my doubt is if using verbs in the infinitive form in the Present or any other verb tense is grammatically correct. Thank you in advance :-)

    • @ConversationalKorean

    • @ConversationalKorean
      @ConversationalKorean  7 лет назад

      When you combine a verb with 그러다가, you usually combine it with present tense. And it's 걷다 + 그러다가, no exception there. When it comes to attaching '그러다가', although 걷다 itself is a present tense, it is regarded as past tense since the last word of the sentence is in past tense as 부딪쳤다. Korean language is kind of messed grammatically, in my opinion.
