One cool (and should I mention FREE) resource that I’ve been LOVING lately is the Daily Audio Bible Podcast! It’s basically a podcast in which a piece of the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs is read to you every day of the year. By the end of 1 year, you will have listened to the entire Bible!! While I don’t think that anything can top reading out of your own bible and marking it up, making notes and journaling about it, those days when life really is crazy you can listen to the Bible while doing something else such as driving or cleaning. You could also follow along in your own bible and make notes. Listening to it can keep your mind from wandering. They also switch translations every week, so you can here what different versions say!! I’ve also been picking up on things that I might’ve missed just reading (sometimes scanning 😳) the Bible on my own.
If it helps people then that's great. I personally prefer to read it in print because I have trouble multitasking, so if I listen while doing something my mind deviates from listening.

PRAYER REQUEST!! My pastor’s son Trevor Carter Jr was shot and the bullet missed his heart by 1 milliliter! Very small and I thank GOD! Not only did he save my blessed brother but proved that he is working it out! He’s currently unable to wake up, swollen with fluid build up, and his lungs are badly damaged. The doctors have nothing else to do! Considering pulling the plug. I’m asking for prayer. Please pray! Bless everyone please and thank you!
So, was God asleep while every other person died of being shot? Or did they deserve to die? Also what would have been so bad if he died? If he trusted and believed in God would he not be in a better place? Or are you all so selfish you want him here suffering instead? I expect none of my questions to be answered. 😊

Love this!! I've used multiple excuses in the past to not read my bible - too tired, failure, distracted, etc. But one of my goals this year is to read through the bible in a year. I found one that is undated so that if I miss a day, I don't feel like I have to try to catch up. I just start with the next days reading. The YouVersion Bible app is also great for setting reminders so that you don't forget and I love the different plans they offer. I love the audio versions that are available as well, so when I am tired or easily distracted, the audios help keep my focus while I'm reading along.
I’m going to take your advice and start in Mark! I’m planning on reading 1-3 chapters a day. Also, I took your advice and I’ve started a journal to write down my prayers and thoughts in. Whenever 8 think my prayers my mind always wanders off, so 8 enjoy writing them down a lot more.

I've been reading my Bible daily for The last year, I'm so much happier my and my husband have grown closer. The kids are More chilled I started to go Back to church 9 months ago and we move house this weekend and now I have to find a new one 😭I love my church but. I'm not travelling 1hr and a half to get there every Sunday so now I'm church hunting.

so glad you did a video like this; this was so raw and honest : ). I've literarily have made it a "nightly" routine to read my bible at least each night before i go to bed. i got one of those women's devotional bibles for christmas; i asked for it and my parents gave it to me, i was so excited : ). i have been wanting one since i starting being in my young adult years and can use it for many years to come. i love how it has a day of the week for each week then a page for the weekend : ). it also especially has at the back of it has a One Year Through The Bible, a 60 Day Overview of The Bible, a 30 Day For Beginning Your Work with Christ, a 30 Days with Jesus, and so on. so far i'm making my goal and sticking to it : ). i enjoy sitting in my bed at night right before i go to bed reading that days page then looking up scriptures for those pages that show a scripture : ) i've got the NIV version of it. i grew up having an NIV version. of course it has the books of the bible combined. I’m literally SO late to watching this - but this popped up on my timeline just as I clicked on and thank you, so, so, much! I’ve been having struggles reading the Bible and my constant avoidance of it has made me irritated with myself. I’m going to pray for his help in pushing through :)
I recently started reading my Bible more, and for the first time ever journaling at the same time, comparing translations and praying on what I read, and your videos really were part of what pushed me to do so, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much!
I was definitely number 3, even going to church I couldn't find anyone to really help me understand. But thankfully I was led to the Life application study Bible and it makes everything so clear to me. Study Bible's are a blessing.
I actually started wanting to study the Bible because of reason #7! I was journaling random quotes that I could relate to (not specifically googling bible verses) and I noticed that bible verses were THE most relatable that gave my heart peace. Because of that I started looking into videos on studying the Bible and I’m ordering my first ever personal bible this Thursday! I am so excited to get into the word. I went to church this past Sunday and the experience, I felt like the message was for me. Like God was talking to me and responding to my prayers. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼
Thank you for so fearlessly standing for God's Word. I spend about half an hour in my devotional time in the morning, and if I wasn't on a specific plan, I'd read ahead of the planned reading for the day. It's hard to get up and do it in the morning, but once I start, it's so worth it.
I'm just starting to read the Bible, I became Christian just a month ago, and I must say that I thought it was going to be tedious, boring and hard to understand. But then, I started with Mark, I prayed for God to help me to understand his word, and when I was reading, I couldn't stop! It was so amazing and beautiful, and the miracles that Jesus did were just wonderful, and the lessons-- my Gosh I want to do a Bible-ish journal... so if you say that the Bible is boring then I guess you never read it or you never payed enough attention to it

Love the Bible Project! Don't be afraid to read in the best translation for you! Just because you don't understand the Kings James Version doesn't make you a "bad Christian". The New Living Translation got me started in the Word, there are so many you can try out and find what you connect to I'm also reading through Inspired by Rachel Held Evans and I'm loving it as a book about scripture!
I use the KJV, but I actually have a preference for the RSV as a translation that is modern without being *too* modern, a translation with a good balance between formality and ease of reading even if it is a bit long in the tooth these days. I used the NRSV for years.
My #1 Goal : set God as my number one priority. To grow my relationship with Him, study and LIVE His word, and spend time in His presence. To disconnect from the world and connect with Him. Fix my eyes on what is eternal and not be conformed to the patterns of this world. To let the light of Christ shine through me before others, through my actions, my words and my life style. To share the good news of Jesus. And to surrender everything to Him everyday and trust Him. To live in Him, for Him and through Him. Thank you Lord. Help me draw near to you and inspre people to do so. Help me to invest in my time and don't waste my life and my energy on temporary unfruitful things.❤

I have been a Christian for a while now. And I have yet to read the Bible and all the years through. Is my goal for this year to read my Bible through. I have many friends that have read the Bible from cover to cover. each one of them said don't ask me how long it took me to read it through. although a year sounds pretty good I bet it probably take me longer. So many good points there. I absolutely right that someone says the Bible don't relate to today they haven't read it the same sin is going around it's the vicious circle from the beginning of time to the end of time. I got saved very young and never grew up in a household where my family had quiet time with God and His word. I grew up thinking that it was just a Sunday read. It’s just now that I have the desire to read my Bible on my own. And I’m one of these people that feel like it’s a daunting task to just sit down and try to understand. So I just recently started using the First 5 daily devotional app and literally take the first 5 minutes of my day to read and learn from God’s word. It makes it less daunting and it gives you the direction you need instead of going into it blindly.

I have several Bibles and I love all of them. I read not only one but a couple of them a day. I just ordered a new KJV large print version of the Life Application Study Bible. I love comparing the way things are written in different Bibles. I understand the KJV because I grew up on it. When the pastor or someone else in Bible study at church uses another version of the Bible, I always go to the KJV to see what the scripture means. That's the original so to me it's the best. I love journaling the scriptures because I get fuller meaning from the scriptures. It's a wonderful thing! Got to look into the Bible Project! Having heard the stories all of my life and being able to read them over and over is a wonderful thing. The stories are so great. Once you start you won't be able to start!

Love this! I've used nearly all these excuses not to read the bible. They are all lies, the bible isn't boring at all, I remember reading Matthew or Mark and there was a part I found so amusing, it seemed like God has a sense of humour. PUSH THROUGH, I've struggled sooo much to read the bible but I'm going to keep trying because I know it's worth it!!💪✨
I found the most beautiful Bible that has illustrations in it, and this really helps me when I read cause I love seeing the images. It's not a children's bible, missing scriptures etc. It's a normal Bible but with images in it. I love it.
A lot of people say they have no time to read the Bible, but they have time to use their phone and read redundant posts on their social media. What better way to understand God than to read his word? I recommend reading it from beginning to end as you can see everything unfold in order. The Bible will help you understand why the world is the way it is, how to deal with others, how to avoid sin and repent when you do sin, how to please the Lord, and how to be a better person by helping others, not being selfish, or causing harm. The Bible has some very gruesome wars and deaths, but keep in mind that it was all the result of people sinning and committing Idolotry. I believe the Bible has all the answers. They may not be the answers you want, but they are the answers you need.
I listen to the audio bible on my phone at work. When I’m feeding my resident, I put on the audio bible and we both listen to it. Even my Muslim residents. I pray they come to Jesus. I work a lot because I’m a nursing aide and we are in need of help so I put in my Bluetooth and listen to the audio bible. It’s awesome.
I red my bible when I got baptizes only one time I red n kept my bible aside for 13years now just started this year again reading my bible everyday wen I pray n ask holy spirits guidance it makes me excited n brings my inner filling so much peace.now I tell God missed so much of ur blessing long long time ago now he gave me strength to understand his words
Another good place to start is to read the proverbs or psalms. They are short little nuggets of great wisdom. That's where I started reading since I already knew the gospel on a basic level since childhood.

Every little step you take to make time for God is good. That 5-10 mins will improve the more you dig in. Don't get discourage by the negativity 🙏

so glad you did a video like this; this was so raw and honest : ). I've literarily have made it a "nightly" routine to read my bible at least each night before i go to bed. i got one of those women's devotional bibles for christmas; i asked for it and my parents gave it to me, i was so excited : ). i have been wanting one since i starting being in my young adult years and can use it for many years to come.
i love how it has a day of the week for each week then a page for the weekend : ). it also especially has at the back of it has a One Year Through The Bible, a 60 Day Overview of The Bible, a 30 Day For Beginning Your Work with Christ, a 30 Days with Jesus, and so on.
so far i'm making my goal and sticking to it : ).
i enjoy sitting in my bed at night right before i go to bed reading that days page then looking up scriptures for those pages that show a scripture : ) i've got the NIV version of it. i grew up having an NIV version. of course it has the books of the bible combined.

I recently started reading my Bible more, and for the first time ever journaling at the same time, comparing translations and praying on what I read, and your videos really were part of what pushed me to do so, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much!
I was definitely number 3, even going to church I couldn't find anyone to really help me understand. But thankfully I was led to the Life application study Bible and it makes everything so clear to me. Study Bible's are a blessing.
I actually started wanting to study the Bible because of reason #7! I was journaling random quotes that I could relate to (not specifically googling bible verses) and I noticed that bible verses were THE most relatable that gave my heart peace. Because of that I started looking into videos on studying the Bible and I’m ordering my first ever personal bible this Thursday! I am so excited to get into the word. I went to church this past Sunday and the experience, I felt like the message was for me. Like God was talking to me and responding to my prayers. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼

Thank you for so fearlessly standing for God's Word. I spend about half an hour in my devotional time in the morning, and if I wasn't on a specific plan, I'd read ahead of the planned reading for the day. It's hard to get up and do it in the morning, but once I start, it's so worth it.
I'm just starting to read the Bible, I became Christian just a month ago, and I must say that I thought it was going to be tedious, boring and hard to understand. But then, I started with Mark, I prayed for God to help me to understand his word, and when I was reading, I couldn't stop! It was so amazing and beautiful, and the miracles that Jesus did were just wonderful, and the lessons-- my Gosh I want to do a Bible-ish journal... so if you say that the Bible is boring then I guess you never read it or you never payed enough attention to it
This is absolutely amazing! So true - my priority for this year is continue this year and just dig in!! IT IS NOT BORING and literally mini revelations EVERYDAY.

Don't be afraid to read in the best translation for you! Just because you don't understand the Kings James Version doesn't make you a "bad Christian". The New Living Translation got me started in the Word, there are so many you can try out and find what you connect to
I'm also reading through Inspired by Rachel Held Evans and I'm loving it as a book about scripture!
I use the KJV, but I actually have a preference for the RSV as a translation that is modern without being *too* modern, a translation with a good balance between formality and ease of reading even if it is a bit long in the tooth these days. I used the NRSV for years.

I have been a Christian for a while now. And I have yet to read the Bible and all the years through. Is my goal for this year to read my Bible through. I have many friends that have read the Bible from cover to cover. each one of them said don't ask me how long it took me to read it through. although a year sounds pretty good I bet it probably take me longer. So many good points there. I absolutely right that someone says the Bible don't relate to today they haven't read it the same sin is going around it's the vicious circle from the beginning of time to the end of time. I got saved very young and never grew up in a household where my family had quiet time with God and His word. I grew up thinking that it was just a Sunday read. It’s just now that I have the desire to read my Bible on my own. And I’m one of these people that feel like it’s a daunting task to just sit down and try to understand. So I just recently started using the First 5 daily devotional app and literally take the first 5 minutes of my day to read and learn from God’s word. It makes it less daunting and it gives you the direction you need instead of going into it blindly.

I have several Bibles and I love all of them. I read not only one but a couple of them a day. I just ordered a new KJV large print version of the Life Application Study Bible. I love comparing the way things are written in different Bibles. I understand the KJV because I grew up on it. When the pastor or someone else in Bible study at church uses another version of the Bible, I always go to the KJV to see what the scripture means. That's the original so to me it's the best. I love journaling the scriptures because I get fuller meaning from the scriptures. It's a wonderful thing! Got to look into the Bible Project! Having heard the stories all of my life and being able to read them over and over is a wonderful thing. The stories are so great. Once you start you won't be able to start!

Love this! I've used nearly all these excuses not to read the bible. They are all lies, the bible isn't boring at all, I remember reading Matthew or Mark and there was a part I found so amusing, it seemed like God has a sense of humour. PUSH THROUGH, I've struggled sooo much to read the bible but I'm going to keep trying because I know it's worth it!!💪✨

I found the most beautiful Bible that has illustrations in it, and this really helps me when I read cause I love seeing the images. It's not a children's bible, missing scriptures etc. It's a normal Bible but with images in it. I love it.

A lot of people say they have no time to read the Bible, but they have time to use their phone and read redundant posts on their social media. What better way to understand God than to read his word? I recommend reading it from beginning to end as you can see everything unfold in order. The Bible will help you understand why the world is the way it is, how to deal with others, how to avoid sin and repent when you do sin, how to please the Lord, and how to be a better person by helping others, not being selfish, or causing harm. The Bible has some very gruesome wars and deaths, but keep in mind that it was all the result of people sinning and committing Idolotry. I believe the Bible has all the answers. They may not be the answers you want, but they are the answers you need.
I listen to the audio bible on my phone at work. When I’m feeding my resident, I put on the audio bible and we both listen to it. Even my Muslim residents. I pray they come to Jesus. I work a lot because I’m a nursing aide and we are in need of help so I put in my Bluetooth and listen to the audio bible. It’s awesome.

Another good place to start is to read the proverbs or psalms. They are short little nuggets of great wisdom. That's where I started reading since I already knew the gospel on a basic level since childhood.
Mark is such a good book! I found it to be very clear when I read it. I almost wish I started there when I started reading the bible for that reason.
