Want to REALLY make your Zen ZOOM...
      Asus Enhancement Performance Enableded (AES)
It sets PPT and TDC to 1000 amps and EDC to 180 amps (limit) on my 5900x. It just WORKS better in games than doing it manually in PBO.
Then go into Curve Optimizer and do a per core tune for each core. If you have a dual CCD CPU (like either a 3600/3700x or a 5900/5950x), spend your time on CCD0 and do a per core tune. Find out your best to worst cores using HWiNFO64 and go from there. The better the core, the less you can undervolt. Those cores will be getting the most load. For me, t's Core 0 and 1 (the first two cores). I believe I went -5 on the bset 2, -7 on the next two, -11 on the next 2.... then -22 or so on all of the CCD1 cores as a starting point... then over weeks, I'd drop one or two cores by -1 or -2 and see if I crashed.
People saying they go -25 on ALL 12 cores are lying. That isn't stable. They MIGHT get a benchmark run, but while it can crash during load, it's even more likely to crash at idle. Like, if you walk away from your PC for 15-30 minutes, that is when you're most likely to crash.
Make sure to use the latest BIOS. The Asus ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming Wi-Fi II recently got a new BIOS that finally allowed me to get my RAM to overclock. It had issues mainly before because, imo, it was dual rank. 2x16GB DDR4 3600 C16 DUAL RANK (dual rank is what you want, look up benchmarks). Now I'm running the same kit at DDR4 3800 C16 @ 1:1 IF w/ Command Rate @ 1 and Gear Down Mode off. I have more room to go, I believe, but it's not worth going over 1.4v imo, despite my case full of Arctic P14's (140mm) fans.
And, last, but not least, I use a Fuma 2 Rev B on my 5900x, which helps cool the VRMs. As do the top 140mm fans on top. Those are on a manual fan controller, while the front 2x, rear and CPU fans are controlled by the motherboard via CPU temps.
The Fuma 2 Rev B is a high quality cooler. Dual fan (practically triple with the rear exhaust fan). I've yet to see another 5900x get the same CPU-z scores OR the same memory bandwidth speeds that my set up gets in AIDA 64. Now, how much does that translate to gaming? Not sure. 3-5 fps hopefully haha. I do only have a 6700XT 12GB. I wish I got the 6950XT back when it was priced well, but yeah.. come to think of it, I think I will get a 7800XT with this set up.
Anyways, hope it helps you or someone else that comes across this rant.

I'm just glad you guys finally fixed the Zenith II Extreme BIOS. For the longest time I couldn't enable DOCP without things going horribly wrong and losing tons of performance. With the latest update I can finally turn it on, get proper clocks and see actual massive gains!

I have the G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 64GB (4 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) installed in the Asus z590-e ... and I tried to ENABLE the XMP I & XMP II profiles... but my computer couldn't boot up - it just a black screen... Any idea how to solve this issue? Thanks

    • @Pierceb2
      @Pierceb2 Год назад

Not an expert but first make sure you have the latest BIOS version.
Then try just two sticks of your ram
      Then enable XMP
      Then Rebar
Boot and see if the DRAM over locks.
Then if that works try adding 2 remaining sticks if DRAM and run again.
If that doesn’t work I may be a problem over clocking 4 sticks of DRAM
If so contact ASUS or take it to your local PC Repair shop as they probably have more expertise.
There are many videos on Overclocking DRAM on RUclips with instructions, settings etc.

Can I make a massive suggestion. With GPUs advancing at an insane rate and more "noobs" buying higher end products. You guys really need to do a video called "defaulting BIOS to Intel Standards" because your CFO and CEO will keep increasing power draw outside of intel spec to the point gamers will turn the pc on start a game and crash. We are already seeing it with games that are cpu heavy like new world. Asus is now considered high end for nearly everything they make. Please set your out of box BIOS settings to include the following.
    1. A quick option in EZ mode to set BIOS to a 0 overclock within Intel spec setting
    2. A brief explanation of why you should enable xmp
It took me a hot minute to keep this i9-10900k from thermal throttling and I do this as a hobby.
Asus isn't the worst offender they actually are better than most and i like a lot of whats available but my God we have thousands of end users out here thinking brand new hardware is faulty on forums 8 hours a day because they can't figure out why their processors are overheating to a point of thermal throttle and radiator heatsoaking before they even get 30 minutes into a gaming session.
Please tell upper management they can keep pushing power settings to the limit out of box but add those two things to EZ mode and at least force end users to see they can make those two changes.
Maybe one day Intel will enforce their standards because gigabyte is about .02 volts away from making gaming rigs seem DOA to new builders or to those who buy the best gear because they can afford it.

@@malazan6004 thank you for the suggestion!

    • @JustAGuy85
      @JustAGuy85 5 месяцев назад

@n6004 Agreed. If you already have a CPU and plan on doing an upgrade, the 5800x3D is the only viable option for this socket if you game 95%+ of the time.
I have a 5900x and would trade a 5800x3D for it... it's just that much better of a gaming CPU.
However, it's "weak" when it comes to work related tasks like compression/decompression/using Handbrake or any other video editing/converting software. A 5800x will beat the 5800x3D in everything EXCEPT gaming. Probably because of the lower clockspeeds of the 5800x3D. But, who cares if you primarily game, because it's leaps and bounds more powerful when it comes to gaming.
Not sure if it still is, but when the 7800x first came out, the 5800x3D was matching it in gaming performance if that says anything.
Can't wait to build my next rig. Having a hard time deciding between an AMD 7900x3D rig vs just going with an Intel 14th gen rig. 14th Gen is a BOSS at every single thing you throw at it.
But I do like to support AMD as a company.
EDIT: FYI I'm currently running a:
      Asus B550-F Gaming WiFi II / R9 5900x / 2x16GB DDR4 3600 G.Skill Ripjaws dual rank kit @ 3800 C16 CR1 / 6700XT 12GB / 2TB M.2 NVME Samsung 970 Evo / 3x SSD's / 3x HDD's (2x in RAID 0) / Corsair HX1200i PSU
I want to upgrade my GPU to something nice but my 5900x will bottleneck it. I am considering a 7800XT or 7900XT but I likely may go with Nvidia (as much as I despise them) and get a 4080 series because of the superior ray tracing performance.
Because, yes, I, for one, enjoy ray tracing. And the 6700XT 12GB has improved tremendously since launch thanks to the work AMD puts into drivers, but still, it's Gen 2 RT cores. AMD will always be one step behind Nvidia in ray tracing. FSR3 helps a ton, but little to no games support it so you have to find mods to make it work in games that support DLSS. And when it works, it works amazingly on my 6700XT. Makes RDR2 and The Witcher 3 run smooth as butter. But it doesn't work in every game.
So, yeah... I MAY just aim for the Nvidia 4080. But not with the 5900x because it will certainly bottleneck that GPU. I game at 1440p since that's what my monitor is. If I gamed at 4K, it wouldn't really matter TOO much, but I don't. I'm a 1440p @ max settings gamer.
