My wife lived 5 1/2 years after an advanced stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis. Treatments have advanced light years in the 12 years since she passed. Keep the faith.
I paused this video about half way through. I opened my phone and set an alarm for every day at 6:11 pm. No specific reason for that particular time. That's just the time that it opened to by default. So, I kept it. I set it to repeat every day. I named it Good Vibes. Every day at 6:11 pm, I will stop what I'm doing and will send you good vibes, best wishes, and I'll be extending to you the love I have for my brother who we lost 12 years ago to cancer. I sincerely wish you all the best. Stay strong and hang tough.
Ben, I don't know you from Adam. I'm a 61 year old Scot who's had a life and retired early (on very little) and only recently returned to an old love of mine (Astronomy) and count myself lucky for reaching 61 and being able to enjoy it. However, since learning of your cancer some months back, I've been keeping my fingers crossed for you and will continue to do so because you, sir, are an absolute inspiration in your attitude and positive outlook. While I'm sure you're not, I think you should be immensely proud of yourself. You are one hell of a fighter and I can say your family are fortunate to have a husband and father like you. I am pleased to hear your update since it is a hopeful one and there are always breakthroughs while there are always those who overcome expectations and I view you as being one who can. God bless you man!
You are an inspiration. I also am an astrophotographer, just recently diagnosed with cancer. Hopefully, surgery and radiation therapy will take care of it. I am so impressed with your courage and positivity. You’re in my prayers. Greetings from Chile.
The fact that you’re still posting videos and going to events like NEAF and Cherry springs really shows how passionate you are! You’re a gem in the astronomy community. If you’re as determined as you are passionate, the cancer won’t stand a chance. All the best my friend!
Thank you so much for sharing your story. Your positive attitude is your best weapon for beating this. Cancer survivor myself 3 years out. Wishing you the best.
I promise you, stranger that I am, I and many other people you have never met, are rooting for you my friend. You actually look really well considering the cancer is attacking your bowels, so your body is obviously still utilising nutrients and keeping your physical frame well built, strong etc. So keep doing EXACTLY what you've been doing since day 1, because it's obviously doing you a lot of good! Sending massive hugs and love...Wes, Liverpool, England.
I am praying for you Ben. You are a very inspiring person. Your positiveness is what is going to get you through. Also, you are just a really good dude. Stay strong. Joe D
You're coping skills, your strength and your positive attitude is nothing short of inspirational for us all. Thank you for sharing about your treatments and progress. Speaking as someone who very much enjoys your channel, and feel like I kinda know you in a remote kinda of way, I wish for nothing but the best for you and your family. God speed Ben.
I have so much respect for you Ben and my wife and I wish the best for you. You're such an inspiration to all of us and with your determination, we're sure you'll be able to fight this! Thanks for all you do m'friend.
You will make it!! The mental focus is very important & pacing yourself. I got the neuropathy in the feet & did everything from baking soda soaks to foot massages - electronic machines. And for the burning I used cold socks ( one can put them in the freezer) and wear them - like putting ice. It all helped. Its 5 years now and I can walk 8-10kms with much less pain. Wish you all the very best!
Truly, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Never give up hope. A friend of mine had brain cancer. She was told she would not last the weekend. All of her friends went to say goodbye. On Monday morning we were told she was sitting up in bed eating breakfast. Within 2 weeks she was back at work. The doctors still can’t explain how this happened but it did. So, keep believing in yourself.
Having had Kidney and Adrenal Cancer and been clear for two years now I wish you the very best in the future. Your very positive attitude is incredibly inspiring.
I've got massive admiration for how you're dealing with this Ben. Incredible how you're so positive and cheerful despite everything. Keep going you're doing brilliant.
it was great to catch up at NEAF and you looked very well - you're a battler and my thoughts are with you Ben as you take this journey - regards to you and your lovely family - see you next year in NEAF I'm sure - cheers Simon
I admire your positivity in this difficult situation!!!! I'm really happy to hear that you are better and I wish you much luck in finding the perfect chemo and that you beat any estimation and will still be gazing at the stars when your children are grown up!!!!!
I really appreciate your channel. There are all kinds of new drugs that scientists are working on. Stay positive, and hopefully, something new will be available that eradicates what is left. Keep up the good work!
I appreciate your candor and upbeat attitude. I am old enough to have traveled this path with too many friends so I hate the whole idea of cancer. And yet some good friends are well into their second decade free of their cancer, some with stage 4 cancers; at least one dear friend was treated for her rare kind of liver cancer that had come from breast cancer for 30+ years, - probably the longest chronic condition of it's type I've known, and saw her grandchildren nearly grown up before she passed away in her 70's. One dear friend about your age had the experience of her very rare and rapidly spreading cancer simply go away through her treatment just a few weeks ago and so far so good. Cancer cells are unique to each individual due to our individuality and so you have the right idea that there is no telling how it might go and you realize the doctors only can consider some randomly generated statistics that simply report history and cannot actually predict the future for any single individual.... your story, your journey, is your own along with your family and friends. I am praying for healing and full recovery for you. Your faith and mental state are a huge part of the process and you appear to understand that. I did notice how 'young' you've been looking. That explanation of the 'botox' type chemo brought a smile to my face. You make the world a better place being in it... and I hope for many decades to come.
I have stage 4 cancer. I was on Fulfox as well. I have a cancer channel. I would love to do an interview with you. Please reach out. My email is in the description of my channel. I can't figure out how to link all of my socials. Hope to talk soon.
Im pretty handy around a machine shop.... Have my own or maybe i can help you in yours. I have no idea where you are located but if there's something i can help you with id be happy to.
I will keep praying for you Ben! Being diabetic and having neuropathy, B vitamins are helpful. Also Niacinamide it's a B vitamins but best to take it. Please check with a Diabetic Endocrinologist, I pray this info will help the quality of life for you my friend!
I am also a cancer survivor. Keep up the positive outlook. I always tried to think that until someone tells me there is no hope, I assumed that everything would be okay. That has worked for me.
Stay strong, Ben! Have you considered applying for admission to NIH research programs? If they find you eligible for one of their research projects, they would cover treatment expenses. Worth looking into it. Also, have they ruled out Keytruda (immunotherapy) for your type of cancer? It helped put the brakes on a relative’s very aggressive urological cancer. Wishing you all the best.
You are way too young to be dealing with cancer. FWIW my wife has battled breast cancer for 10 years. Eventually getting to stage 4 met (bones/lymph/liver/lungs/brain). Very long story short after years of scientific research (lot of trial and error) we combined fasting (fast mimicking diet) with very high dose melatonin, plant based diet and rebalancing gut bacteria with fermented foods with an immune checkpoint inhibitor. The ICI only shows a low single digit full regression of cancer if used standalone but with the synergy of the other adjuncts she was able to achieve a full resolution per CT/PET and now 2 very sensitive Signatera genetic tests - all negative. Oncologist is stunned as are we. Side effects from treatments were minimal which is also a benefit to the adjuncts. Fasting/high dose mel, diet and gut health even without ICI's can be very beneficial - much science around this. They make treatment much more effective and reduce side effects. One of the most important factors in cancer resolution is the immune system and gut bacteria. These are THE systems that clean up any cancer cells in "healthy" people. Most often a failure of these systems leads to cancer much like AIDS. I wish you all the best
Thanks for your update. I am happy to see you getting better. If you need music for inspiration, I recommend REN. His music helped many people struggling with chronic illnesses and coping with mental health related to them. Are you planning to get a night vision for visual astronomy?
I'm pretty old and I wouldn't be surprised if it caught me. You're way too young for this shit. Take care! And try to keep beeing as optimistic as possible (as it seems you are). Wish you all the best!
I am getting screened for cancer and I am worried about it what was your experience when you were first diagnosed? Also thanks for making the videos you do I actually follow your processes to the letter on some! Thanks man!
try to be as healthy as it gets. I heard that what you eat is the most important. sugar free diet is one of it. My girl friend's father beat the collon cancer his family feed him so well that he was bald and after those good cares his hair grow. I do not know shit about any medical field. just trying to transfer what I hear. good luck.
I will be trying to score tickets again for BFSP this year. Hopefully I will be all done with my Chemo treatments by then. Been going ever since the first BFSP in 1999. And of course hope to see Ben and family there again. 🙏
Wishing you the best from Athens (the original one, not the one in Ohio). I hope to see you survive that nasty thing for a decade, at least, and do the things you dream.
Hi, I live in South Africa. The sun is always shining here and there is always the risk of developing skin cancer if you have a light skin. I developed a growth on the lower eye lid of my right eye. I do not know if it is cancer or just a benign growth but I went on a high nutrition diet for about two months and the growth have shrunk noticeably. I would like to share the diet with you. The soup Ingredients: - two handfuls of Chopped broccoli, one chopped onion (purple), two bags of green tea, two pinches of mixed herbs, two sticks of cut celery, Two handfuls of frozen and crushed spinach or kale, half a table spoon of crushed garlic, Three shakes of black pepper, seven shakes of turmeric, two tablespoons full of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), one bag of white onion powder soup for flavour, a hand full of cooked red speckled beans and a handful of cooked mince meat. Just add all the ingredients in a pot, add boiling water and switch the stove on high till the water boils. Then lower the heat until the water simmer, Let the soup simmer for an hour. The soup is now ready. I would only drink water in the morning. At 12h00 I would start eating the soup. There will be about two helpings that you can eat in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. I also ate a fruit salad every day in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. (Note: Apparently turmeric reduces the effect of some chemotherapy drugs and thus should not be taken during chemotherapy.) During the rest of the week I would also eat food that contains vitamin D like avocado’s, mushrooms, liver and eggs in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. It seems to be working for me, maybe it will also work for you. I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that you will be healed. Amen. I would also like to share the following seven videos with you about salvation and two videos about evolution: Evolution vs. God ruclips.net/video/uc_W9VtzJ0A/видео.html DESTROYING Evolution In Under 3 Minutes ruclips.net/video/sWecPwrQv2c/видео.html Watch the Holy Spirit Work in Her Heart (Very Moving) ruclips.net/video/iBEoI2u6kII/видео.html Fearing The Lord, God’s Discipline & Sharing The Gospel ruclips.net/video/dES5WW66Mro/видео.html A Clear Gospel Presentation by Pastor Steven Anderson - How to go to Heaven ruclips.net/video/IXEeMWCxyrQ/видео.html The Plan of Salvation ruclips.net/video/PmkhRMPvt_0/видео.html How to Get Saved ruclips.net/video/ajWdkuvrT6s/видео.html The Truth About Hell (Selected Scriptures) ruclips.net/video/AVzbh_dLq3s/видео.html What is The Gospel of Jesus Christ? John 3:16 (King James Version Bible) Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son Of God the Father.
Glad you are doing better! I have read that a diet without any sugar has a dramatic impact on cancer when paired with the normal treatments. There are a lot of good videos on RUclips regarding this topic. I hope you continue to improve! My family is praying for you!!
I am new to astrophotography (like a month) and have been receiving treatment for over 5 years. My condition is called "Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia" which is an untreatable bone marrow cancer. At the time of diagnosis, the oncologist said the condition existed years before I began treatment and did not seek treatment until the condition worsened. But with prayer and a loving wife I have been able to survive though many others die within five years. So be encouraged, I understand. We are not alone. My prayers are with you and your family. Keep up the good work!
You are amazing. I have watched a number of your videos and had no idea you were sick at all. What an inspiration for others. I am going to hope as hard as I can that you can beat this thing.
I agree with the above statement and will comment the same elsewhere so it doesn't somehow get lost. Lots and lots of studies and data support this theory. Damo
Hi Ben! Yes I remember CSSP 2023 as we spent some time together with the SV550 122mm. And of course your kids were a blast. 😁 I am very glad you have come this far and Pray something breaks soon and they discover the right recipe, or have a breakthrough with a new treatment. I couldn't make it to CSSP to stop and say hello because I was on antibiotic infusions for another UTI. My last was today, fortunately, but too late for CSSP. I am sure I told you I have Stage 4 Prostate cancer that metastasized to the bone and spread and is inoperable as well. But I am doing very well on the chemo with Taxotere infusions every 3 weeks (in Lewisburg), and oral meds Abiraterone Acetate once daily, and Prednisone twice daily. Fortunately with very few of the nasty side effects, just a few mild reactions. Never give up my Friend! New research is being done every day, and some includes DNA research which will tailor treatments for specific individuals. You are in my Prayers. 🙏 I will be trying to score tickets for BFSP, and hope to see you and your family there.
@@TheNarrowbandChannel You know you're always welcome to use anything you need, if I have it. I always try to score "extra" tickets to CSSP and BFSP. So if you could make it to BFSP (depending on circumstances), and miss out on tickets, you can contact me through CN to see if I have the extras or not. You would get first dibs on them. 😁 I do like BFSP better because of 1. Longer nights. 2. Transition with summer skies (early) and winter skies (towards morning). 3. Usually cooler than summer so I am not sweating up and creating a stink. LOL! God Bless 🙏
I only just recently found your channel. Unfortunately a radio show host I've been listening to since the early 90s, his sister has stage 4 cancer as well. She's been to some of the beat places in the area and some out of state. Sadly most of them haven't been able to help. I think she's on some treatments now, so they're sort of in a wait and see mode. Fortunately they all have a positive attitude about it, which certainly helps! I wish you the best with what you're going through, and hope you do well with you're treatments. The medical tech these days, is getting pretty good. 🙂 Clear skies!
Stay strong and positive. Know that a lot of people are pulling and praying for you and your family. PS. Love that Astro setup. Similar to my AM5/Primaluce pier, AstroTech 115EDT, ASIAIR, it’s fun, simple, and efficient. I occasionally replace the camera with an eyepiece and designate the guide scope/cam as Main to act as an electronic goto finder. The views through those big refractors of double stars and clusters are super crisp and take your breath away.
Hi man, I’ve been watching you since a couple of years ago when you bought that 50edph from me, and I never knew you have been fighting cancer! You look great and having healthy hobbies must have helped you a lot! I only wish you and your family all the best, and keep posting!
We all are with you .. and you have nooo idea how I do appreciate ALL your videos and this one in particular ... keep up enjoying astrophotography and be positive .
Dude, so happy about your progress. Amazed at how jacked you're staying. My apologies on behalf of the people offering "helpful" yet unscientific & unsolicited advice about how to "treat" your cancer.
I am a cancer survivor. Stay as positive as you possibly can. There is hope. I wish you nothing but the best.
Cancer survivor here, 12+ years. Keep your hope & faith up. Will be praying for you! 🙏
Stay strong my friend, genuinely wishing all the best for you ❤️
My wife lived 5 1/2 years after an advanced stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis.
Bless you Sir, I am glad you are still here.
Ben, I don't know you from Adam. I'm a 61 year old Scot who's had a life and retired early (on very little) and only recently returned to an old love of mine (Astronomy) and count myself lucky for reaching 61 and being able to enjoy it. You are an inspiration. I also am an astrophotographer, just recently diagnosed with cancer. Hopefully, surgery and radiation therapy will take care of it. I am so impressed with your courage and positivity. You’re in my prayers. Greetings from Chile.
Here in Canada, Immunotherapy is a complete game changer. My wife’s 3cm tumour is completely gone after only 3 months.
Definitely the way forward. Hope Ben can get a chance of that therapy/treatment if possible.
Wishing you all the very best for your treatment Ben.
You are in my prayers and I thank you for your contribution to the astrophotography community. We are pulling for you!!!
Thanks for your candid regarding your health situation. Keep fighting!
You’ve got this. Sending healing energy and positive thoughts your way!! 🙏🙏🙏
The fact that you’re still posting videos and going to events like NEAF and Cherry springs really shows how passionate you are! You’re a gem in the astronomy community. If you’re as determined as you are passionate, the cancer won’t stand a chance. All the best my friend!

Stay strong my friend. I look forward to decades with you at BFSP. Hopefully that power supply is still chugging along.
I will be trying to score tickets again for BFSP this year. Hopefully I will be all done with my Chemo treatments by then. Been going ever since the first BFSP in 1999. And of course hope to see Ben and family there again. 🙏

Thank you for the update. Our prayers are with you and keep the fight going. Certain frequencies kill cancer. Look into it.
I sincerely hope all goes well for you with all our blessings you will be out of the woods very soon.
Keep fighting man, hope from the bottom of my heart you will be on the planet for another 50 years✨
Thanks for the update Ben. Enjoy many more Cherry Springs'.
My heart goes to you for sharing this with us. I hope that everything gets better.
Thanks for sharing your story. You are amazing.
Strength to you, Lad
Any plans for doing livestreama of astronomy?
Stay strong. Sending you all the very best.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. John 3:16 (King James Version Bible)
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son Of God the Father.
Hi Chris. yes I am a christian and have had a relationship with him since 8.
Glad you are doing better! I have read that a diet without any sugar has a dramatic impact on cancer when paired with the normal treatments. There are a lot of good videos on RUclips regarding this topic. I hope you continue to improve! My family is praying for you!!
Keep the faith. I will pray for you
I am new to astrophotography (like a month) and have been receiving treatment for over 5 years.
Thank you for sharing your story!
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Stay positive. You do great work in here and very needed. TY for what you do.
Stay strong..we pray for you 🙏
I am so impressed! For me you are a hero!
Stay strong. I am sending many prayer request to the astro gods.
Can't wait for the video when you tell us that you beat the odds! You know you will!
You are amazing. I have watched a number of your videos and had no idea you were sick at all. What an inspiration for others. I am going to hope as hard as I can that you can beat this thing.
Thank you so much!
Keep going and stay strong 🤞
Keep up the positivity, you got this
GBU man! Hang in there💪
My prayers are with you
Keep fighting 🙏...
Please look up Thomas Seyfried and how he approaches cancer treatment on a side alternative level! It helps!
I agree with the above statement and will comment the same elsewhere so it doesn't somehow get lost. Lots and lots of studies and data support this theory.

Thank you Jeff. I did miss not seeing you there. Perhaps next year. I almost was going to stop and barrow a part for the 122mm on my way up.
Clear skies!
Looking good brother my thoughts are with you
Much appreciated
Stay strong and positive. Know that a lot of people are pulling and praying for you and your family. PS. Love that Astro setup. Similar to my AM5/Primaluce pier, AstroTech 115EDT, ASIAIR, it’s fun, simple, and efficient. I occasionally replace the camera with an eyepiece and designate the guide scope/cam as Main to act as an electronic goto finder. The views through those big refractors of double stars and clusters are super crisp and take your breath away.
Big fan and astrophotographer from Australia. Sending you all the best vibes I can and hoping you kick this cancers arse!
Thank you for the update.... I really admire your courage... I will pray for you.
Hi man, I’ve been watching you since a couple of years ago when you bought that 50edph from me, and I never knew you have been fighting cancer! You look great and having healthy hobbies must have helped you a lot! I only wish you and your family all the best, and keep posting!
Stay strong brother! You will kick cancer's ass, I KNOW it!
We all are with you .. and you have nooo idea how I do appreciate ALL your videos and this one in particular ... keep up enjoying astrophotography and be positive .
Bro I’m praying for you, I admire your courage and strength. Just know we are here supporting you. Thanks for the update
You are an inspiration, your mindset and attitude is awesome, all the best for the future….👍🏻
Dude, so happy about your progress. Amazed at how jacked you're staying. My apologies on behalf of the people offering "helpful" yet unscientific & unsolicited advice about how to "treat" your cancer.
🙏 praying for you, whether you believe that helps or not! It definitely doesn't hurt!
