I think Bolan's brilliance is using basic chords in a very creative way to make great tunes. Thanks for this it's made me want to revisit some old favourites.
Awesome that young people know about T-Rex! Even cooler that you are teaching others. Keep on rocking, Electric Warrior! There was a joy in Bolan's music that was, and is, rare. Buick McCaine (sp.?) and a really obscure one called Mustang Ford were some of my favorites. The Slider was probably my fav. T-Rex album.
I think he did use a capo on the fourth fret but the B7 was an open chord not a barre. He used a capo on the fourth fret for the bass part too I believe.
Marc's gift wasn't in technical virtuosity: it was in packing as much attitude into what he was playing that it made you feel the energy. These riffs still drip with swagger, testosterone and sexual tension.
Marc Bolan borrowed most of his riffs from old Rock 'n' Roll and Blues Rock heroes, but he transformed them into his very own T.Rex Glam Rock style, produced by the legendary Tony Visconti. And the results were absolutely unique.
That’s what makes Marc Bolan so great. He wasn’t a virtuoso like Jimmy Page, but he was still very crafty in putting simple songs together that rocked.
It's a Vintage V100 guitar through a Boss Katana amp. It's mostly to do with the guitar I guess. I'm sure you can get it in most les Paul type guitars though.
Nice choices, but I have to put Planet Queen and Mambo Sun in a top ten riff list. I guess the rhythms are mostly acoustic, so maybe they don’t qualify for electric riffs.
Mark Bolan is underrated and one of the best of rock and roll.

The best
Marc Bolan is rock 'n' roll personified. There will never be another like him.
I agree. Marc was amazing
Basic chords but with an amazing sound.
Rock on Marc
You'll always be number 1 in my opinion.
Buick Mackane is an absolute belter
Man, you make the Children Of The Revolution riff sound so dirty. I love it!
Fun Fact: Panic by the Smiths is based on Metal Guru. Great job!
And U2’s Hold Me Kill Me is based on Children of the Revolution
Metal Guru was 13 overdubbed guitars I once read, like 40 years ago
We also have to mention Oasis' Cigarettes and Alcohol
Marc was indeed a wizard a magical elf . Gone but never ever be forgotten. Keep a little marc in your heart ❤
Thank you for this! Children of the Revolution was my childhood, and it’s been 15 years since I first listened to it!
Started with 20th Century Boy… LOVE IT ALREADY!!!
Great. Thank you. Fan of the band since 1971.
Awesome !! There's room for a part II as there some many other great tracks from T-Rex. Nice Job man
Thanks man.

At this point, I miss the jazzmaster :D
Yea but you can’t T. rex with a jazz master
Yea but you can’t T. rex with a jazz master
@@milofox5231 Sure you could, just gotta get a little creative.
wdym? Is the jazzmaster gone??
@@magraretsbane6274 shut up
Thanks for keeping these alive .
So many iconic riffs. Amazing.
Can't see Bolan playing ride a white Swan like that, that was excellent. Some weird B sides there too, like King of the Mountain cometh
I think he did use a capo on the fourth fret but the B7 was an open chord not a barre. He used a capo on the fourth fret for the bass part too I believe.
Love these types of videos. Keep up the great work man.
he sure likes an E chord
Great! Thanks to let the fantastic sound of Marc Bolan staying alive.

Rad choices bro, love glam rock!
My absolute favorite!! This was grand❤️
I said it before but I'll say it again. Love that tone and the guitar. I'm eyeballing a few Paul's rn but that black one is killer
Love the 1st one
That LP sounds HUGE! T Rex is one of my all time favs. How about a top 10 James Williamson era stooges riffs video? Since he used an LP
Yeah I was thinking of doing a stooges one.
Awesome Playing and Awesome New Les Paul!
Well played sir, excellent.
Thank you.
Lovin that Les Paul 👍

Don't have to hide your face Bloxy, you didn't do all that bad, ah ah ah!
My favorite is 20th Century Boy
Riffs de guitarra da hora! 🤩👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Thank you. Glad to hear there are some T.Rex fans out there finding this.

Nice to see you again ! How was your summer ??
It was okay thanks! Too hot to be playing sometimes. Hopefully more regular content will be posted soon :)

I love me some T Rex, nice
Laser Love is another really fun one to play
Thanks!🙃
That’s the way good boy ❤
I love T Rex!!! Like!!
Nice!
Thanks!
These all sound like the kind of riffs a beginner makes when they get the basic chords down.
yeah
Honestly? That makes it inspirational.
That’s what makes Marc Bolan so great. He wasn’t a virtuoso like Jimmy Page, but he was still very crafty in putting simple songs together that rocked.
All the best riffs are
'Children Of The Revolution' was covered by Violent Femmes too.
Why don't you do one of VF tunes?
I’m not familiar with their work but will have to check them out
@@bloxsy_ i think you might like their song Never Tell, like a whole lot
@@bloxsy_
You won't be sorry.
Probably the most underrated American band.
Not technically difficult, but great.
The big 🦖 of rock
You were right… that riff is a lot like the New Age Outlaws intro music! Ok, Ya got my subscription!
Could have kept going - The Motivator, Beltane Walk, Jewel and my fave Elemental Child.
Nice ❤❤❤
Thanks!
Cool guitar!
Is it maaaaaa imaginaaaiiitioonnnn
new guitar? 😎
Do the strokes?
Sounds naughty.
@@mungofinalfi4480 yes indeed mate

Nice les Paul
I dont like much les pauls but this les paul is very nice is Epiphone or Gibson?
It's by Vintage
Now you got a Les Paul!!!
This will Kickstart my les Paul phase

Awesome. Play Chris Spending song's counterfeit. Thanks.
Rock on!!!! 🤟
Nice video
Who else is waiting for a RHCP or REM vid?
👇
He liked the E chord
Here for Longlegs
You should do a stone roses next
I've done one before ruclips.net/video/Qt5SbtaKraw/видео.html
Jeepster reminds me of Bubble Bobble 🖤🤘
Jeepster apparently was borrowed from either/or You'll Be Mine by Howlin' Wolf or Mystery Train by Elvis Presley
you miss Telegram Sam, but rest is very well ;)
Thank you!
Hopefully Noel Gallagher doesn’t watch this video and get funny ideas.
caN you tell us? if you gonna make some tutorial from all those songs and where we can watch them thanks to play a magnific music !!!
I hadn't planned on it as not many people seem interested in T.Rex. I could do one though.
I hate to be that guy - but what did you do to get this tone because its exactly what im looking for.
It's a Vintage V100 guitar through a Boss Katana amp. It's mostly to do with the guitar I guess. I'm sure you can get it in most les Paul type guitars though.
Hey, we have the same guitar!
Bang a Gong it's almost the same as cigarettes and alcohol
How do you like the epiphone firebird guitar?
I've never played a firebird but they look nice.
Cool.
My favorite T-Rex song is not really a riff song. “Monolith” has a cool bibe.
Great examples. I would recommend "Laser Love" as one of his best riffs.
Epiphone?
It's by Vintage.
New guitar?
Yep
I guess they didn't want to complicate things it's too simple
missing Life's a gas
Why did you play 20th center boy wrong? The hammer is on the G, not the F#
You bend it up to G. It’s not a straight hammer on to G
baby strange?
How about Guns and Roses top 10 best riffs?
I miss solid gold song Into the list
10 iron maiden riffs
the greatest band to only have one album
?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaa everythings fine everything's good
Like deployed 👍
Thank you!
Nice choices, but I have to put Planet Queen and Mambo Sun in a top ten riff list. I guess the rhythms are mostly acoustic, so maybe they don’t qualify for electric riffs.
Rip Off?
