Ride A White Swan; Get It On; 20th Century Boy; Jeepster; and Children Of The Revolution. Here's how to play 5 great T.Rex riffs in 10mins! Album: Junction 39: robfennah.com/
Thanks Rob.I was lead singer in a blues band but always wanted to play.Ive been practicing for eternity and getting nowhere .Retired the guitar but she's out again now after discovering your channel.Brilliant mate cheers
I’ve just posted a comment saying “you’re amazing thanks” but I genuinely want to express how much I appreciate this video. I can’t get it across enough how much I really do appreciate the time you’ve put into it. I can’t believe that I’m actually playing these songs. I’ve only got an acoustic (can’t afford myself an electric) but it sounds sooo sweet. I really can’t Thankyou enough. You’re a hidden gem.
"That White Swan riff is destroying my brain". Me too! I just came back for that one. I think I'm gonna have it by the end of today though. It's coming... Painfully slowly. But it's coming. It's a great feeling as the clouds begin to part don't you think?
Hi Rob, I know the T-Rex video is some three years old but it was fantastic and you made those riffs look so easy. I’m a big Bolan fan. Many Thanks. Gary.
Lovin this Rob shee Just dropped me tea all down me trousers Great to hear these classic rhythms you have just given us the proof great songs don’t have to be over complex 😊More please
Once you get the hang of that, you’ll be doing it all the time 🤣🤣👍🤣. Great video, all killer, no filler! Good insight into Marc’s abilities. Yet he created the entire sound of my childhood with those tools, amazing.
Spotted your channel by accident a few months ago, "what a corker" I've subscribed to your channel looking forward to watching more of your videos. Cheers
As usual excellent stuff Rob! I was a big Bolan fan and it's great of his music is still popular. On a strange footnote, I was very shocked and saddened to find out that Marc had died in such tragic circumstances in the early hours of Friday 16/9/1977, however, our Mo, who you know well (my eldest daughter) was born on Saturday afternoon 17/9/1977 in Wallasey and so I never forget the date Marc sadly lost his life.
I was in London with my band, Buster, doing a gig with Cherry Vanilla and Bonnie Tyler when I found out. It was on a newspaper hoarding outside the hotel. Absolutely gutted I was. Loved Bolan, and still do.
Great tutorial I found using a looper to help me until muscle memory kick in and was able to play loved the break down of the riffs I am a new subscriber and enjoying your content
Hi Rob, nice to meet you and your partner at the cafe last Saturday, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I'd like to hear a finger style version of Beatles 'Fool on the hill'. Speak soon, thanks, Pete.
Great stuff Rob, even though I can play all these songs I really enjoyed your lesson, and was delighted to see and hear your explanation of the (correct) rhythm of "Get it On" - Thanks
Great stuff Ive a sneaky suspicion though that arc played an F sharp bent to G on 20th Century Boy and used sae bend on Get it On as well it gives it great effect He did not play by the rules to uch but great to see soeone so enthusiastic about T rex Truck On friend
Hey Michael, thanks for that. You’re quite right, it does sound like an F# to G. It’s unusual but having looked at a vid of Bolan doing it I stand corrected. Cheers my friend. 👍🏻
Great stuff! Thanks man, you've given me a lot of insight into playing Bolan. My attempt to play Bolan was always terrible and totally dis-satisfactory. it. It seems he used v.clever strumming as a kind of percussion which to me runs deep in his playing. If you could do Laser Love that would be fantastic.
I saw T.Rex in 1971 and you've definitely got the feel!
A great fella and a great teacher .. no waffling on an blowing his own trumpet, just lays it out in a really great way to learn.. cheers!
😊😊😊😊
I'd been Jeepstering all day. Then I came here.
Now I'm gonna be T.Rexing all week after watching this.
Nice one. Cheers.
Well at 67 years old you have given me fresh hope of learning again ,many thanks,be lucky.
