These individuals are the types to say "Sorry" to simply cop out of the responsibility.
Acceptance is step one... Action is step two.

North Trade Supply Co. and not simply action. Key element missed. Before action we sometimes hav to take stock of what we missed n did wrong that led to d current result. We need to deal with it in a humane way as well. To fix d problem n not d people. And then looking into a new way of doing things n an absolutely new future, we must take actions according to s new future that we wish to create.

I take “extreme ownership” as looking within to examine how YOU are to blame for why things happened as they did. In life, there are always other bad actors, mitigating factors and extenuating circumstances, but until you fully embrace and address where YOU failed, you’ll tend to try to shift responsibly onto others instead of yourself.

[~2:43] "The thing is about 'Ownership', is taking ownership of the problem, doesn't fix the problem... You still have to come up with the solution."
I see a lot of folks that are always harping about "Attitude" alone, as if that's the only key to everything; or looking for "Motivation", as if that's sufficient for sustained accomplishment or substantive change. I'm afraid a lot of those folks with that kind of shallow thinking, are seemingly just looking for simplistic "magic bullet" type concepts, that will easily change everything for them, as if all they need is to subscribe to whatever is the latest and greatest "self-help" type idea they've encountered that seems to give them a notion of new perspective.
The problem with some of these folks especially prone to chasing the bandwagon of every pop-psychology idea fad that comes along, is they're very often the people least gifted in the kind of analytical "diagnostic" thinking necessary for "Root Cause Analysis". Not even RCA in the technical/scientific/industrial-process sense of that term, but I mean just in the sense of a basic natural human interest or ability to recognize the simple direct inexorable connections of practical Cause and Effect.
My whole family is unfortunately like this. Incapable of any form of genuine critical self-reflection, adamantly opposed to any notion that present serious problems might tangibly indicate real errors of relational judgement & responsibility and/or failures of ideological understanding in the past. Pervasive failures of judgment/understanding/attitude that they might first have to renounce, and... "repent" from, before any superficial attempt to paste Jocko's "Extreme Ownership" concept over the top of their preexisting unacknowledged problems could possibly be successful.

It seems like what people are missing is that if you allow your employees to take advantage of you or that they're not doing their job unless you believe that you can help them fix it or that they can fix it on their own you need to own up and get rid of them
    That's extreme ownership

I currently work with the worse group of people I have ever worked with in my 20 years in the adult workforce. They learned the squeaky wheel gets the grease and even after going to the boss they get away with just giving me their work to do. The only way to take ownership with the worse people is the most dramatic action like leaving the job or firing them if you can. Most of the time it doesn't have to come to that but with this sorry bunch I wonder how many managers these people have had that took their ownership for them that they feel entitled to someone else doing it. I'm forced to take ownership until I get a written job offer and if I was a better employee at my last job I wouldn't be in this situation.

Jacko is nervous answering this question. His voice trembled a bit as he fumbles with the papers. All problems have a better answer after the facts arise. There’s such a push to provide answers to difficult problems. There’s a lot to learn by listening and some times it’s appropriate. But if you run a business and you don’t have the depth to ask yourself serious questions...if you haven’t developed that inner self discovery, then Jacko’s words are the opiate for the masses thronging here and there or to whoever willing to give an opinion other than our own, or at least confirm our faults assessment so we don’t have to look any further. Maybe the writer hasn’t ask the real question sitting in front of their face. And we should ask whether or not we should give advice.
