There's an easy fix for that loud POP when activating the pedal. All you have to do is solder a couple of resistors to the internal board of the pedal. There are tutorials on RUclips. I did it last week and it works perfectly. No more loud POP.
Yes the selector knob is dodgy. No question. But as long as the pedal keeps functioning for a year or 2, I'm more than happy with it. Extraordinary piece of kit
I've heard the same about Behringer pedals. However, the only comment I ever read about breaking a pedal came from a keyboard player who pushed the pedal with his hand (which the pedals are not made for).
My prediction is that at some point M-Vave will fix the issues like bad power supply noise, footswitch click in the signal, bad selection knob, etc. and then this pedal will truly be the best cheap BigSky clone in existence.

It is a good multi reverb pedal - but one thing to note is that this pedal absolutely needs a separate 9 volt adaptor. It cannot cope with any power supply interference if placed in a daisy chain set up. Worth knowing before you buy because you will need to buy a single 9 volt adapter, to avoid the disappointment of getting that high-pitched whine interference.
You are correct! I have powered it with an isolated Vitoos power supply and I didn't face noises! Anyway, daisy chains are a noise generator for any M-Vave device! Thanks for sharing your view!!! 🎛️🔥
Also on that loud 'popping' issue. That also disappeared for me when I changed over to the separate single 9 volt power adaptor. Apart from the isolation, it may also relate to the mah level supply.@@RiffsRigs
@@streetlegal008in some cases it solves, but also I saw cases that it didn't, what makes me conclude that the pedal is over sensitive for Power Supply line quality! If you will plug it in Europe, India, US, South America or Australia, probably it will influence the noise level and the Pop!
It's true, the selector knob is fragile. Mine misfunctioned within an hour. The thing is, I bought this just for the shimmer mode, which is exceptionally good. I mean, seriously good. I leave my MU on that setting and for that it was very good value indeed.

The Shimmer preset is absolutely outstanding and gorgeous and all the presets are very good. The same week I received an EHX Epitome and I am as happy with the Space Reverb as with the EHX, and it's not the same price... ! Thanks for the "mod video".

My pedal has a pretty good on/off switch, it's doesn't pop when I stepped on it, and really easy to turn on, just a touch needed, no need to stomp on it. Also not buzzing, and no noise. Maybe it's a new build. I'm okay with this pedal, I only use to colour my basic sound a little, it's always on when I found my setting so... Worth it
Mine works great and if you could have only one pedal this is the one to get. Great reverbs! I bought 2 of them because they will take these off the market because they are to good? Like my ammoon octa pedal didi?
I got the high-pitched whine from this pedal, running it with other pedals through a cheap (not-so-)"isolated" power supply. However I found a workaround: If I power it from the power-out socket of my Boss LS-2 pedal, the whine goes away. Another pedal that has a similarly useful power output is the Polytune3 tuner pedal. PS. I'm running the Boss and Polytune3 pedals through the not so good power supply.
Proper, expensive sounding shimmer... And good overall reverb sounds.... Just a little work on a revision that can cost.... Maybe 5 more dollars to avoid too many corners cut... And it would be really solid budget pedal... Undoubtedly copying someone else's circuit... but that's nothing new. Can definitely mute with many pedals.... Like a simple tuner pedal
I run a Boss NS-2 through my effects loop, along with my MXR -ZW44 Chorus pedal, my Digitech Hardwire DL-8 Delay/ looper, then run my Caline overdrive, Revv G4 Distortion pedal through the input on the front of my amp and it got rid of that overbearing buzzing sound.
I bought a Sunydog version on Amazon UK for £22 vs £45 for the branded version. It was quite good on its own apart from a Univibe-like modulation on the tail. But it was brilliant when added after my ZOOM G3N and added real depth to the tone of an ambient patch. I bought a second one to see what it did and I liked the results. I even heard what sounded like a Chorale effect. I am a bedroom player and don’t have much experience or expertise, so YMMV.

Sure... you will connect on the same way: the logic is as follows: output from your PreAmp (Send) -> LoopBox IN -> from the LoopBox Send to the input of the Mini Universe -> From the Output of the Mini Universe to the LoopBox return -> From the Out of the LoopBox to the Return of your Amp. In this way the Mini Universe stays always ON, and you step on the footswitch of the LoopBox when you will want to engage it. You can use the loopbox in passive (without power sorce) or active (9V). But what _I_ miss here is the old Cuvave non-aesthetic; it would've been awesome in battleship grey, with the boring font from their other boxes, because THAT is how "best kept secret" pedals SHOULD look! When people scope out a pedalboard, their eyes drift toward the glitzy stuff, and the Cuvave boxes don't register at all because they APPEAR boring...so no one can easily nick the sound just by copying your rig, because their stomp boxes don't attract visual attention.
AURAL attention, however...😂 Yep, Ryan nailed it when he said that Cuvave does weird better than so many others in the pedal game. Good to see they're still at it, despite the visual "upgrades". Subbed also...reviewing this weird 'vave box early on gets MY stamp of approval!
Really good description mate! Thanks a lot for your thoughts on it! 🎛️🔥
