  • 🦬Stan and Rhonda from Over The Hill Adventures are excited to finally share Custer State Park South Dakota in their best season yet, INTO THE WILD. In this episode, Stan and Rhonda camp inside Custer State Park at Blue Bell Campground. They set up their trailer and waste no time before they take off to drive Wildlife Loop Road. Custer State Park Wildlife Loop Road did not disappoint. Wildlife views from inside their vehicle were breathtaking! Rhonda and Stan also want to stress the importance of staying safe when viewing wildlife. Viewing from your vehicle is safest, but if you are not in your car, stay at least 25 yards away from bison, elk and other animals. 100 yards away from bears and wolves.
🦌Come with Stan and Rhonda as they truly step "Into The Wild" for another amazing adventure with the most wildlife they have seen yet.

We have found that traveling in the Spring before Memorial Day and in the Fall after Labor Day are our favorite! Much slower season with less crowds w👏 A motorcycle sounds like a fantastic way to ride the Wildlife Loop Road! We love riding our e-bikes out there in the wild and experiencing the sights and sounds a little more intimately 😍
We can’t wait to share our trip to Theodore Roosevelt NP where we come up to a herd of bison on our bikes 😬 Thanks for hanging out with us for sharing 👍 We appreciate it! ~ Rhonda and Stan

If you like to hike, watch for the Sasquatch signs and the Medallions on the trails so you can get prizes. We will share more about the Custer summer trail challenge next video. Game Lodge Campground would be perfect for your size rig. We drive by it in the video and highlight it. It’s very open and next to the field where the bison and big horn sheep are often seen. We are 52 feet total with our truck and trailer and fit great. The site was just a bit unlevel as you saw. There are several sites on lower ground you’d fit perfectly in at Blue Bell. But if not, glad to hear you will make a day trip. It’s a special place. Thanks for watching! ~ Rhonda and Stan

Love it! I noticed your first step is kind of high, with the leveling you had to do. We carry an aerobics step for our camper. I have issues climbing tall steps and it’s a life saver. It’s plastic, lightweight and adjustable somewhat and works well for me. -John

Hello John, thank you for joining us. Yes it was a little high but not to bad. That is a great tip and idea. When we first got there it didn’t seem so bad at all. The level does not lie. We appreciate your comment very much. Stan and Rhonda❤️

Claudia, It’s an absolute must-see! This place was one of our most favorite spots we have ever been. We actually picked Blue Bell by chance. When we knew they had an open spot, we did some RUclips searches real quick and it looked perfect 👍 We thought it was the prettiest campground in the park because of the setting. And it’s right on Wildlife Loop Road. We even walked to dinner one night right across the street. We hope your husband is on board! He would love it! 🙏🤞👍

We loved Custer. We were there for 5 days, just 2 days ago. We were talking this evening about how nice it is to be here in May. We must have seen 250-300 bison on the Wildlife Loop road, with about 40 baby bison!

Our two pups barked at the bison also. What a great area! Butch and Becky
