I definitely think Wish has more potential in certain situations.
Especially if you have a teammate or two that use a Pokemon that dives the backline. I find Wish to be really strong for its preemptive damage reduction and delayed heal here.
Also against team comps that are harder to catch multiple Pokemon with Snarl. Such as three or more range Pokemon that won't likely be bunched together in a team fight. (and are harder to reach because of the self slow from Snarl)

Wish scales with Attack, so you can run Attack Weight on Wish.
I've been running my Foul Play/ Wish Umbreon with Attack Weight, Rescue Hood, and any other items that will fit the 3rd slot.
I've been winning a lot of games with that because Wish Scales off of Attack, so the higher my Attack, the more healing I'll do. Rescue hood also helps me keep allies like Urshifu, Buzzwole, etc in the fight.

I cannot take Umbreon seriously when I'm basic attacking. The sound it makes reminds me of someone getting hit with a wet fish. Nice Video. honestly I was so excited for umbreon because it's one of my all time favorite Pokemon in general. And yeah it had a really solid relase in unite.
I think that you really underestimate the mean Look/Wish build. It's not the best build but it's also decent especially if you don't have other defenders or supporters in your team. The healing of wish is scaling very well with attack weight stacks.
Foulplay is depending on the opposing teamcomp and rn there are so much good special attack pokemon so you don't get much value of Foulplay scaling with the opponents attack stat. I think all builds are decent but depends on the opposing line up.
what's also important to know is that the only way to get out of Mean look is via a Hoopa portal.

Great video! You are able to full heal mean look if times right. When you cast mean look the eye above the target is closed. During that time you can full heal. Once the eye opens and enemy is trapped you can no longer full heal.

My build for umbreon is basically the same in terms of items except I interchange between wish and snarl, I've personally had more success with wish because it just heals SO much. It basically heals as much as a blissey and sometimes depending on the items, even as much as a clefable.

  • @xRagingxDemonx
    @xRagingxDemonx Год назад +2

I never thought to Mean look while snarl is charging up. The reduced attack Stat only affects Foul Play's 2nd hit so I may have to try that later for testing reasons.
I've been running 2 different builds. I've tried a whole different combination of builds and held items/emblems and I've landed on only these two ones, being The Paladin Umbreon or Tank Umbreon.
Paladin Umbreon - Foul Play/Wish. Weakness policy, Buddy Barrier, Focus Band with My Atk/ATK SP Emblem setup
    Or
Tank Umbreon - Foul Play/Snarl. Aeos Cookie, Buddy Barrier, Focus Band. 6 White 4 Atk Emblem setup.
With the Paladin setup I'll go in and wish myself and get back out and if I have another defender or an all arounder I'll Wish them as they go in or my carry if they're being targeted. It's a lot harder since I have to keep making split decisions on who to heal and when to go in and not.
Tank build is just dumb. Too good. Although I typically don't use snarl while using Foul Play unless it's specific situations. Even without wish I still heal a lot because of the high hp making Focus Band, Boosted Autos and Potion heal a lot.
Yes I use potion, I like baiting people when I'm low, sue me.

    - The competitive build is Mean Look/Wish, not Snarl. Umbreon is ran as a supporter primarily
    - Wish is broken, you are tripping dude
    - I would avoid using Foul Play into comps without many physical attackers (though the dash itself can be useful against mages)
    - Snarl reduces attack which makes it have a bit of an anti-synergy with Foul Play. There's still synergy with the trapping, but worth keeping this in mind and "noting" (FP1) the enemy's attack while they haven't been debuffed by Snarl, and then using Snarl into FP2 for big damage.

Am i only who see lot umbreons who use muscle, focus and last one is either scarf or atk weight?
As solo player i actually prefer Wish over Snarl. I have won so many times against other Umbreon who play Snarl that it can’t be all only luck anymore. Wish healing is insane for defender and in solo q you don’t always get supporter so it’s working as support/defender same time.
And i actually prefer mean look more than Foul play if enemy don’t have Zacian/Water bear. I can shut down their carry and my teammates kill it. They have garde who try secure? Just mean look and he can’t get enought close to steal it.
But this is just from my 50 battles so need to play some more so i can see what is best for solo q.

Every pokemon fits into 1 or 2 meta builds. But my boi. My bre. Is completely breaking everyone's minds. He literally just works with EVERYTHING. Like even the comments here are pointing out, the creativity is limitless. I can't afford to max out every item so i can't test what fits my play style most, so I've been trying to see what experts think is the best. But uh... NOBODY HAS A CLUE LOL! Everyone says different stuff. Some with numbers on paper. Some with experience in matches. Some on personal playstyle. There's just no real solid answer to this boi.
Personally i think maxing attack is best cuz wish uses attack. Then mixing with speed and cooldown is best. I would say there is only 1 mandatory item for bre. Energy amp. That unite is a major game changer. Being able to counter everyone's unites and other shields as often as possible plus the cooldown reduction is just too huge to pass up. Personally i hate stacking mechanics in all games cuz i hate losing progress. So even though bre can stay at the front lines and score like hecc. I prefer reliable power and speed, so i go with float stone. The last item is extremely hard to pick. I'd love to go full support with buddy and rescue, but bre wants to do some fighting too uwu. So i think the last items could be rapid fire, drain crown, exp share, or razor claw. My item is x speed cuz longer overall chase and escape distance than eject and no accidental direction launch. X attack doesn't last anywhere near long enough to do enough. Potion works but wish does it far faster. I always run wish. Meanlook is for when the enemy has squishy targets with lots of mobility. Foul play is for when the enemy has tanky melee. My emblems are full negative special attack, which happened to be full brown, with 2 blue and white bonus.
    Hp +120
    Attack +5.2
    Defense +10
    Special attack -25.8
    Special defense +4
    Crit rate +.5%
Play style. No matter the build, bre just doesn't put it the damage to solo most mons, so sticking by team is great. Unlike with my glacy where i basically play the whole game myself and carry the distortion world out of my team who just does whatever, not leveling up and feeding the enemy idk. Bre is quite the challenge in solo q. Supporting (eg holding the hand of) baby bags of rocks is extremely mentally exhausting. I like the idea that glaceon is the tf2 heavy with the icy minigun, yelling over the BRRRRT "who sent all these babies to fight?!" And bre is the medic on the other side like "dis, is KNOT vunderbar!" So ye. When playing umbreon solo q it's almost entirely up to chance how the game goes cuz you can't do too much to carry on your own like glacy. Which is why i have a 75% with him cuz I've been able to win games the algorithm thought i should absolutely lose. Bre on the other hand is probably gonna hover right around 50% just like the algorithm aims for cuz there's nothing i can do about it. Sigh. My fav boi. I wanna main so badly. But. It's so hard to leave the fun glacy domination. Hhhhhhhhhhhh

@@UniteClimbing there were a couple times I just stayed on the enemy home and took them several respawns to finally bring me down. The wish coupled with other healing can just keep you brawling forever. I fucking love sustain so much (it's why I still rock the shell bell on glacy even though slick spoon became the meta. I can steal the enemy's jungle and all the farm in their side of the map forever. And simply retreat to heal up on middle farm when needed. It's glorious. Though I'm constantly stuck with max points and leaving free energy all over the place cuz even though I'm always close to their goals, scoring with glacy takes FORRRREVERRRRRR. Bre scores much faster but doesn't have e the damage to build up points like that XP). Not a lot of damage. But a whole lot of distraction, which leads to giving even the worst and slowest team mates plenty of time to buff up and secure bags
