Might be worth checking the numbers on the vehicle type slide, the stat says only 10 water tankers are in the RFS, North Coast Region alone has 7 tankers, not to mention the 20 something others around the state

Thanks for your question! The figures were supplied to us by the Rural Fire Service Queensland. It is brigade vehicles only - excludes Group, Area, Region and State held vehicles. We have emailed RFSQ to ask why.

Can someone tell me something,I watched the fire at tawoomba burn for days before it got out of control while there was only 40 trucks or so active when I have seen up to 100 trucks active at other times, wouldn't it make more sense to have more of them active all the time? I know this isn't a volunteer issue because there's enough full time fire employees to get more vehicles active and location can't be an issue with this because trucks have wheels, why why aren't more trucks active and only a couple more are out there than how many fires there are almost all of the time, please have more trucks active it doesn't make sense people are dying and loosing their homes
