Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie after the original trilogy. And this score... it carries so much emotion, it relates so well to the price the Rogue One crew paid in order to bring A New Hope.
This is not just so you don't have only a bot responding. But I agree. The first half of the film is very messy and disoriented. I don't quite like that part. But once they land on the beach, damn. It becomes an instant classic. It was *awesome*
@@Chrysaphius86 Hence why as of Mandalorian and technically the ending of Clone Wars, Series Bad Batch, and Rebels it looks like they are erasing the new trilogy
For me, the best of the Star Wars series; no Jedi sabre fights, good dialogue, everyone pays the ultimate price, and Mads Mikkelsen plays a good guy, a Rogue, but a good guy... And I'm so glad it came out when it did, earlier would not have had the same effect, nor would it have been done so well.
Mad respect for Michael Giacchino for being able to convey the same Star Wars vibe from the original and prequel trilogy through his own interpretation of the score. And prop for the Danish national Symphony as well for the beautiful performance.
Rogue one proved that you can tell a compelling Star Wars story without the need for the original cast. From a rewatch perspective, this might be my favorite of the franchise. And this song is beautiful and wonderful.
Another point, in 1977, there were rumors of a book called "a Droid's Life" where two droids watch a series of events that changed the galaxy. It had 9 chapters set in groups of 3, and went over 3 generations. In the book, one of the droids was created by one of the main characters of the first two sets, a child that grew up, fell in love with a queen, married her and had two children, then fell to the dark side. After failing to turn them, he turned back to save his children only to fall to the emperor. Later a 3 generation had to fight to reborn emperor and defeated him at the end by the last jedi. The Droids witnessed all of these events, but did little more. Sound familiar?
Star Wars, from its origins was about the destiny of nobles. This, in its honesty, is about the sacrifices of peasants that make what the nobles do, in any story, Possible.
It's actually my favorite Star Wars film. Definitely the most realistic scenario, without any use of the Force powers. Well, with the exception of Vader, but the villain should have some kind of ominous power.
This film guts me every time. I know the reason for Jyn, Cassian, Chirrut, Baze, K2S0, and Bodhi's sacrifice is to get to the delivery of the Death Star plans, but my god that final shot of Jyn and Cassian on the beach with this playing....... Thing is knowing that Jyn is thinking of Lyra and Galen, and now we know Cassian is likely thinking of Maarva........ Massive hearbreak. "Rogue One, May the Force Be With You." - Admiral Radus.
This beautiful music sums up why Rogue One, next to The Empire Strikes Back, is the greatest Star Wars film. Rogue One and Empire capture the essence of Star Wars best…hope, resilience, and sacrifice despite overwhelming odds, trauma, and despair.
There is no way I can't ever listen to that masterpiece without having tears in my eyes. In the beginning I thought nothing about it but then I learned to love Rouge One and it's absolutely georgus score. Especially at 3:27 I never manage to hold back tears, thinking about how hopefull and emotional Rogue One as a movie is and how much the Rebels had to sacriffice. Michael Giacchino did an absolutely fantastic job and I want him to be making the music for upcoming Star Wars movies, as he is so far the only one who made a score which could come from the master John Williams himself. Huge respects and mange tak to the Danish National Symphony Orchestra for doing such an outstanding performance of one of Star Wars's best scores.
Couldn’t agree more. Rogue One and Empire capture the essence of Star Wars best…hope, resilience, and sacrifice despite overwhelming odds, trauma, and despair.
Thanks. To everyone involved. I was back in the movie because of you. Many, many thanks to each and every one of you whether musician or whatever contributed to this. Thank you very much
Astounding what Giacchino was able to write in the little time he had for this score. Thank you for this performance. If I ever get a chance when this pandemic ends I'd love to fly from Canada and visit Denmark again and see you all in concert.
They can't hit one single tune right live... This is all autotune. Or maybe not but I'm afraid I won't be able to get tickets if people fly in from all over the world

Honestly I think this piece might be the best piece to come out of star wars. Don't get me wrong, Star Wars has fantastic music, but for me personally, this one is the best one.
DR Koncerthuset is the most beautifully produced channel on RUclips. Not merely the best classical music channel or the best music channel, but the the best, period. I cannot believe how gorgeously conceived both sight and sound are in these videos. I could have chosen any one of them for this post, but this one will do just fine. The playing is superb, sensitive, and the commitment of the performers is obvious. And the venue! My God, has there ever been such a visually stunning concert hall? Such clean lines, such lighting ... I could go on. Suffice to say finding this channel has been my highlight so far of 2022. Thank you!
Spot on. Part of the reason is, that these concerts are made for, and by, the public service Danish national tv station called DR (Danmarks Radio). It's tax funded, and the standard is top notch. The venue was also (over)paid for by the Danish tax payers. Acustically, it is by far the best place, to listen to any music, in Denmark. They do metal concerts there. Perfect.

Rouge One is my favorite of the Star Wars story and this classical performance by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra is just stunning. I have watched the story and listened to this video many times. The musicians performances reflect the sadness of the movie. This, to me, is modern classical music at its best. This piece could stand alone without ever watching the film. Much respect DNSO!
the absolute best performance of this score i've ever heard, including the film itself. the expressiveness is off the charts, especially from the cellist. this will take a place of honor on my film scores playlist =D
I feel Rogue One is very underrated. It's story is so overlooked. Its amazing visuals and soundtrack are just the surface of what makes it a great movie. I'm glad I was able to see it in theaters. Now I hope to hear it live, someday.
I wouldn’t say underrated, most who watch it adore it, I’ve spoken to quite a few people who haven’t watched it though because either it’s “just a spin off” or because “new starwars bad”

Michael Giacchino absolutely knocked it out of the park on the score for Rogue One. His songwriting at the climax of the movie was the perfect touch to just push it over the edge. Fantastic soundtrack for a fantastic movie.
A lot of people said that music in rogue one was bad and doesn;t catch up like John Williams. How THIS can be called weak music. It is on much higher level in terms of composition. It can be listened even without movie in compare of Williams music which is of course iconic, but only because of movies. And repeating theme which starts at 1:13 is catchy as hell
When ever i lost hope in the new Star Wars Franchise i remember that movie and it gives me the faith that there is still hope for a victory against the dark Gender Empire!
