Traded in my 14pro max and Apple Watch for this and the galaxy watch✨ I’ve been on the fence but this one sold me and honestly the iPhone has been so stale for a while
And as a long time Apple user I was dulled to just how insanely expensive iPhones were. I was flabbergasted when I found out that the Z Flip 5 (512GB) is $300 cheaper than iPhone 14 (512GB). The higher end Galaxy (though not the top end) is $300 cheaper than the low end regular iPhone… It’s insane.
Exactly what Im going to do. Getting rid of the expensive max brick. But lossing 50% money from 14 pro max. Ripped off
Samsung ecosystem is pretty solid I think the support could go a few years longer but you won't regret your decision I got the flip 5 in mint color
Same here, fed up with Apple and lack of innovation recently. Sold my iphone and apple watch. Looking forward to receiving my flip 5 tomorrow! (and not to mention the free buds pro 2 vs the 299 eur i had to pay for my airpods pro)....

Definitely cool how flip phones have come a long way from what they used to be
I'm loving the Flex Window on my Flippy. Using Multistar and adding the Widget Launcher lets me use most of my fave apps without opening the phone up. That's very useful.
For anyone who says rarz+ is better than flip5 about the cover screen...
Prove me that 3.6 which 1/2 of the bottom is covered by the cams looks smoother than how they curved it on the flip5
Prove me that the build quality is better than flip5
Last but not least prove me the rarz+'s software will beat the shit out of OneUi in terms of years of support, optimizing and experiencing

To be fair, the S10 is an amazing phone. I gave it to my mom 2 years ago to get the Z Flip3, and she's still using it.
I'll give her the Zflip3 now that I'm getting the ZF5 😅

After 3 days with the flip 5 my two major take aways are, the hinge is not as sturdy as last years Fllp 4. And I hate that they have removed the swipe gesture on the finger print reader for the notification panel

This is a sign for me. I have an s21 ultra and was considering switching. The s21 is a bit too big for me.
Literally switching my iPhone 14PMAX and got 900 trade in + 50 dollar promo discount + student discount 10 dollar. So in total I paid 48 dollar including Tax. Next I’ll get rid of my Watch ultra and trade it in for watch 6 classic or something

@ ended up selling my ultra and use my analog classic watch instead. But if I were still to buy another smartwatch Samsung 6 classic will be my pick still because of the whole Samsung smooth integration between their devices. What makes you think Watch 6 isn’t a good idea ?
I got mine since wednesday. My galaxy watch 6 classic will arrive tomorrow xD must say I dont regret getting it instead of my iphone 14 pm. Its a whole new experienc for once.. and smoothness of the samsung has greatly improved! Snapdragon is great, i have only ever trier exynos versions of samsung before.
How do you like your phone now that you have had it for a month? I am debating pulling the trigger. Using the Iphone 14 pro max right now and had the z fold 4 before that.
I cannot get an answer from other reviewers. Can the outer screen fonts be adjusted to make them bigger. I have a hard time seeing smaller text. I would sure appreciate if you could answer this.

I was also curious about the ability to adjust font size on the outer facing screen.
I have just been playing with fonts. Style of font does apply to the cover screen BUT, size appears to only apply to the main unfolded screen
Had to get my flip 5 replaced because the packaging was half open and the box that contained my stuff inside was inside out and broken
Really loving the flip 5. I have a z fold 3 and been feeling I want to switch to the flip series. Fold has been awesome, it's just that, I recently got a s8 tab plus and feel I use that more often than my z folds inner screen. You think it be a worth a switch?
I got the flip 5 free by switching to T-Mobile and still keeping my z fold4. I never open my fold. So I'm sure I'd use the flip5 more often.
I also have the Z Fold 3 and the S8 tab plus and decided to trade my Fold 3 for the Flip 5. I think the smaller phone will be nice especially because I also carry an iPhone for work and have the tablet when I want the larger screen. Hopefully I'll be happy with it. If not I'll just trade it back for the Fold 6 next year.

Yeah I'm excited for it too. That flex screen on the front was a much needed upgrade on the flip series.
I have the same device (fold 3 & tab s8+), but I'm getting flip 5 cause I want to try something new. For using which device (fold or tab s8), when I'm at home, I mostly use my tab s8, and when I'm not at home, I do like inner screen for fold when I'm on the go.

I'm slightly concerned about the dust resistance with the flip 5, I live by a beach so sand is an issue... just wondering how much that actually could be an issue or whether its irrelevant
I never rlly had a dist issue with my flip 3 for the past 2 years and I been to lots of beaches and cottages, I think u will be fine as long ur careful. The flip 5 also closes better than my flip 3 does

@@deadmeat13able I just went from an s10 that I've had since launch day to a Fold 4, carrier had a really good deal on it. Personally, I think the Fold series offers more than the Flip series, but if you fit into the niche that the Flip specifically appeals to, it's definitely not a bad choice.

I would get the flip over the s23 but that's just me. I had the fold b4 the flip 5 and I much prefer the flip. Now when Samsung makes the fold with a wider outer screen then maybe I'll go back
I always wondered… when swiping to scroll pages when it’s open, how it feels when the finger goes across the crease?
I got used to it honestly, it doesn't bother me at all. I also ended up changing my scrolling muscle memory so I scroll either below or above the crease most of the time anyway.

Razr is better, it doesn't have that weird bottom cut edge, the way they did it to the flip is weird

If people want good photo quality, than they can buy an actual camera.
most of the smartphone cameras are enough for most users and if Im a photographer I would never buy a smartphone based on the internal camera.
To be honest the flip 5 camera is really good and the fact that you can use it as a selfie cam makes me wanna buy it.
The camera to me is by far better than my iPhone 12 pro max

No point upgrading from 4 to 5 if you just want a bigger outside screen. Rather wait for the next model or go for a better flip phone with a better camera.

@YankeesGiants I traded in my S22 Ultra and paid $289 USD for the Z Flip 5. essentially $300 plus change with the Samsung care program. Hopefully this helps.
would be good id they made a phone just the size of the folded flip 5. half the width.....just that tiny square with essential apps. Calls texts navigation email etc.

I just did, and I don't regret it. The flip is so freaking cool. I love it. Another plus is that the size of the flip is way better than the s22 ultra.

I'm glad i didn't get this, & got the Moto Razr instead, since the Samsung new flip doesn't have a full back screen, The razr has a bigger screen that goes all the way through the Cameras
The way they did it to the Flip 5, just looks weird, i don't like that bottom curve

One week later.....I just sold away my Z flip 5. Because I'm not used to it though. I've been using iPhone since their first 3GS so I rather felt much more comfortable using my iPhone 14 Pro. I love it and it's awesome! The best features that I love about iPhones is that they have a "Silence Unknown Callers" which that only those people in my contacts will be able to call me. The rest will be automatically blocked by this awesome features! The Z flip 5 doesn't have this features though. During my one week of using the Z flip 5, I've received so many nuisance calls which really annoys me. Some are telemarketers and most of them are those people that dials the wrong numbers! Switching back to my iPhone 14 Pro gives me peace of mind with no irritating calls. Just one week, and it's a waste of my money though......
Are you sure the z flip didn't have it, or were you just not able to find it bc you're used to iphones? My samsung galaxy S10+ has this feature, and it's a relatively old phone :/

I will only consider a foldable phone when the crease is gone. Not a day sooner.
The motor razor plus is a much better phone better outside screen bigger outside screen looks better and much easier to use as well as bigger inside screen
You can do just about everything from the outer display. Samsung is making sure widgets and apps are optimized but you can also use Good Lock to use any app.
It's not a much better phone on the inside... the software blows...
only if it was on verizon
But most of that bigger external outside display is covered on the Razr+ by the camera bumps so essentially it is unusable. Samsung made the much better call here.
Also samsung has a much better water resistance

Listen, I use the RAZR+ but have nothing against the FLIP5.. The thing that I want to point out is a different one, I has to do with the PWM of SAMSUNG displays that are percived as top noch or market leading.. So, the RAZR+ do not flicker at all if you select that option but the FLIP5 has a pwm of 240 and that is just unbelievable today.. Not only is the content displayed not of "that" quality but is also makeing a lot of sensitive people not able to use the phone for more then a min o even less at times.. This topic should come in focus of every community that have any contact point with Samsung cause the other OEMs are putting a lot of effart in this PWM "fenomenon"..

It got better external screen too
