@@caderamsey8878 I simply said it just reminds me of the old days the television show when everything was simple ..I don’t know how much more I can explain
I’m 55 years old and I can still sing the entire “Land of the Lost” theme song from memory! Funny the things that choose to stay lodged in our brains! LoL
Star Trek, Land of the Lost, Shazam - Isis hour, Night gallery, Bigfoot and Wild Boy, Godzilla, Six Million Dollar Man, Battlestar Galactica, Space 1999, Muppet Show and Jason of Star Command. The best shows from the 60's and 70's. Oh yeah Lost in Space too.
I had forgot all about _Bigfoot and Wild Boy_ and _Jason of Star Command!_ Ah, those were the days... ( Let's not forget the original _Bugs Bunny / Road Runner Show_ )
In this vein of Blast From the Past... The Amazing Spider-Man with Nicholas Hammond, The Animated Star Trek and the imperishable, Tarzan Lord of the Jungle! Oh, the nostalgia!
That's true. I've heard her talk a number of times and she believes that everything happens for a reason. She seems to be in a really healthy and happy place. It's also really cool to see how close she is to Wesley Eure and Philip Paley who played Will and Chaka.
Best Saturday morning show of all time. Spooky, cerebral and fascinating. I remember when it debuted when I was in 1rst grade. EVERYONE was instantly hooked. It's all we talked about for a while...Especially the second or third episode when the Sleestaks made their first appearance.
Being born in ‘69, I hit this show at the perfect age when it originally aired-I still have my Land of the Lost metal lunchbox I had back then (with the thermos).
We're the same age. It's funny.Watching the show back then I took it so seriously.Despite the cheezy effects.Seemed real to me..I even remember my Mom selling Avon back then and her getting me a Dino-shampoo bottle that had a T-Rex head on it that I use to pull out when watching the show.Cool stuff!..
That's awesome to hear about the lunch box. I was born in '63 and I loved HR Pufnstuf and Lidsville, AND Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. I wasn't very up on my prehistoric mammals. The first time I ever heard the name T-Rex was the song "Get It On" (Bang a Gong) which I still love to this day.
I was born in 63 . A lot of great T.V. shows came out of that era . Star Trek, Lost in space, Gilligan's Island, The Monkee's, Ultraman, The avengers, Get Smart, Voyage to the bottom of the sea, The time tunnel, Speed racer just to name a few. It was a great time to be a kid . The movie with Jim Carry setting in front of the T.V. taking it all in reminded me of myself at that age :)
Great show. I was born in 1974 but remember watching reruns in the late 70’s. I clearly remember the T-Rex on TV, turning around and roaring. It was very scary to a 3-4 year old kid!
There were several casting call auditions for this show. Kathy's mom dressed her in that plaid shirt and pigtails. She was dressed the same for each audition. Her mom wanted them to remember her daughter out of the dozens of others. They hired Kathy and liked the look so much they kept it for the the show.
I like how Kathy describes it...Saturday mornings were our time in front of the TV. Mom and Dad were most likely sleeping after a tough week and, for three or four short hours, we got to choose what to watch!
I watched this show religiously 1974-1976 in our nice shag-carpeted house, but around 1977 came The Bugs Bunny Roadrunner Show and that was my regular show until about 1985.
I loved Land of the Lost because it and Dark Shadows prepared me for my love of Doctor Who; a low budget series with great stories, great acting, and the ability to convince you that the monster with the zipper up its back will take over the world.
I was just a little kid back then in the 1970's watching those groovy far-out TV shows. Like Land of the Lost, Space 1999, Far out space nuts, Big foot and Wild Boy, Star Wars, Battle star Galactica, Shazzam, Wonder Bug, Doctor Shrinker, Sigmund and the Sea monsters, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, the Bugaloos, Saturday morning cartoons, Lidsville, Munsters Go Home, Munsters Revenge, Gilligan's Island, Mob Squad, Rowan's and Martin's Laugh-In, Star Trek, HR Pufnstuf, Red Skeleton episodes, the Ed Sullivan episodes, Romper Room, Electric Company, Chico and the Man, Welcome back Carter, Lost Saucer, Logan's Run, Sonny and Cher comedy hour/ show, Emergency, Sanford and son, and dozen as well. It makes me feel homesick for my youth back then. Thanks for sharing the details for me.
Brings a tear to my eye, reading your list of all the really amazing and simply entertaining shows and movies that cinema and television produced back then. Shows that made you want to tune in to watch them. These days, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on air to compete with anything made for tv back then. The golden age of Television has long since passed on, never to be repeated. Ever.
It's a shame that children today will never know the excitement and anticipation of having to wait for Saturday cartoons. I hate this instant gratification world or maybe I'm just gettin old.
I loved the series; I still get goosebumps during the opening theme with the well timed to the music crash of the rock behind their raft, sealing off their retreat.
I loved that series as a child and greatly appreciates Sid and Marty Crofts contribution to childrens entertainment. I still love the series. Its is good science fiction. I still appreciate what the writers put into the series. And the actors.
That sounds like a slam. Im from he 70s . It is filled with fishing in a little boat with my dad ,. going to Florida and the Beach and even The Blue Ridge Mountains. On on of those vacations wile swimming dad pulled me out of my world and made me watch Nixon resign . At home i enjoyed Lemonaid stands with friends hanging out in a wash room converted into a play room.. fixed up by grandma.. Lighting bugs.... tree climbing.. swimming at the public pool.. playing a my friends house.... each house that had its charms. Imbedded in me is memories of my depression era grandma with apple pies blue berry muffin and ice tea.I recall those days where we drank longknecked bottled coke and evenings with a HUGE box fan in the dinning room window where dad and my brother would listen to Baseball... where stars lie Hank Aron and Johnny Bench would be house hold names. Despite the hell of hated war.. racial tensions... and Water gate us kids watched not 24 /7 news cycle but The Six Million Dollar Man. Little House on the Praire, The Waltons. The Flintstones and Land of the Lost. Maybe the hippies of that ear were lost...but not the little ones behind them necessarily . Interestingly there is generation called the Lost Generation but it was not us. I myself m the caboose of the Baby boomers being born in 1964 and the dawn of Gen x.Im a hybrid i guess. Sorry it was so miserable for u but for me despite family turmoil.. it was MAGIC!
@@jdsundstrom like so many other bad "remakes", as you called out, it was a dumb spoof laughing AT the old show. How anybody in Hollywood doesn't slap the writer in the face and remind them we can read Mad Magazine if we want to see a movie torched or watch MST3K - we don't want "new" material taking the names and story elements from our beloved old shows and see them burnt on a pyre. How they ever got the notion that this was the way to treat the material is beyond me. Will can actually act when he needs to - it's once again the fault of a script that completely failed to get what the nostalgia market IS. Shaft sequels with Sam Jackson added to the old story, didn't retcon it or make fun of it; same with Equalizer reboot with Denzel. Then you have this shitshow or Starsky & Hutch - tried to make fun of the source rather than a new adaptation of the source... fail!
I am in full agreement with you. Suppose WF has many fans. I am not one of them. However I have wondered if he was the son of Mike Farrell from the original MASH series. Mike, not Will, was worth watching IMHO.
I too loved the old tv show but have to admit I really enjoyed the movie and watch it all the time. Yes it was a parody, yes it didn't even remotely attempt to "modernize" the old show into today but if you watch the old show now you see how absurdly but wonderfully ridiculous it all was. The movie took that absurdity and maximized it. I love the movie AND I love the old tv show. They both have a place. Maybe the movie was not a realistic interpretation but it worked for me.
I used to think he was funny..then I found out that he is one of those hollyweirdos and into some shit noone would believe of I told them..thats how they get away with it..seems too outrageous
I watched as a kid, had a crush on Kathy Coleman and have all the episodes on DVD. My daughter grew up watching my DVD set and loves the original 70's show.
Before there was run Forrest run there was run Holly run! Every episode transported me to the land of the lost. Back when they gave us characters we could care about, and stories that fueled your imagination as a kid. I don't know anyone else but it inspired me to explore more growing up back then. From the 60's through the 70's some of the best movies and t.v. ever made imo.
Holly was my favorite on a lot of shows. Probably because I was small an I recognized her face and voice and kind demeanor in pretty much every character I saw her in. But I was scared to death of the sleestacks so I'd start to cry when they showed up.
I absolutely loved LOTL as a kid of the 70s. Each Saturday morning the excitement and anticipation of a new episode filled me with joy. After viewing a show I would be so pent up with energy,I would run outside and play for hours, replaying the episode I had just watched in my mind. A very special show at a very special time in my life. Carefree fun, without the stresses of grown up life.
Always had a crush on Kathy Coleman as Holly Marshall on Land of the Lost too. But since I was also 10 years old, it wasn't exactly a sexual thing, more like the cute tomboy you always wanted to hang out with, kinda crush.
you right same as me . ' My cusin was a tomboy ;me and her had big fun on our grandfathers farm' and she was the best base ball player around' i would love to go back in time and relive those special tmes.
I watched this show on Saturday morning as a kid around 1974-1976, at ages 6-8 and saw her as an older, wiser, and more mature kid to look up to. Her older brother that was on Days of Our Lives later on seemed almost on the same level as the father. If I was 12-13 during that time, I might have seen her differently!
All the Kroft Superstar stuff is like an acid trip when you watch it now...I do appreciate that they shot on videotape cameras instead of the grainy film cameras of the 60's and 70's.
I miss all of that so much, I was a huge fan as a kid, my imagination would run wild also with shows like Jonny Quest Etc. Great times and miss them terribly.
I was just Scrolling down, from the top of the page and reading comments, and came across your comment and just had to chime in. NOT ONLY do we share the same name and enjoy all those great Saturday morning cartoons but awesome shows like Land of The Lost!!!
I remember great Saturday morning shows like it was only yesterday in the 70s like Schoolhouse Rock, Scooby Doo, Fat Albert, Superfriends, Pink Panther, Jabberjaw, Clue Club, Soul Train, American Bandstand, and one of the best live action shows of all time Land of the Lost!!!! Before there was no internet, cell phones, I pad too but it was wholesome TV entertainment!!! Kathy Coleman was the best respected actress in the world!!! Land of the Lost the best show of all time!!!! I was so shocked that they was going to do a fourth season of the show!!! But it was cancelled in 1977, That was a great show but it had a great run!!!! Kathy Coleman haven't been doing television roles after Land of the Lost so what happened after that!!!! Thanks so much for posting this video!!! I love it!!!! I love the 70s!!!! Can you dig it!!!!😃😃😃😃😀😀😀😀🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🎂🎂🎂🎂☕☕☕☕🎈🎈🎈🎈🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🥳🥳🥳🥳😁😁😁😁🍀🍀🍀🍀🌹🌹🌹🌹🌈🌈🌈🌈♥️♥️♥️♥️🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️☕☕☕☕✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
I attribute Land of the Lost to my life-long love of science fiction and fantasy. Now, when I look back, I see that LotL was so well written. It was a children's show, but they dealt with some very deep science fiction concepts. I'd love to see a serious, adult reboot version of the show. And I absolutely love Kathy's book: if you loved the show, you absolutely need to read this.
Ah - the memories of those amazing Saturday mornings! It just wasn't a complete weekend without Holly Marshall and the Land Of The Lost. I'm glad to hear that she lived a good life. Cheers Kathy!!
I Remember waking up on Saturday mornings just to watch Land Of The Lost..... I was absolutely in love with Holly. She was a cute girl, and I could never talk to her. So... She was an idol. Some of us kids used to get together and "play" Land Of The Lost, and I would always say the blonde girl was Holly. I remember those days as if yesterday, and wow , how the times have changed. Just call me Maudlin.
52 years old. On Saturday morning looked forward to Land of the Lost, Speed Buggy, and Bugs Bunny cartoons. In the 70's cable was nowhere near our home. Could still watch shows for a good 4-5 hours. That's enough TV time when your 7 anyway
Interesting comparison. You're right. Kathy and Kim were cut from the same cloth. At least way back when. Kim may have more money now...but I suspect that Kathy might be happier.
@@jdsundstrom I know that Kathy certainly, has to be happier. I watched a program a few years, ago, with Kim Richards. She lives a bizarro lifestyle, in a freakshow circle of friends! Sad! Bravo, to Kathy Coleman!
@Leonard Chornomaz I really would like to know the story on Kristy McNichols. She had one hit and left the other show for "hormone" problems. I wonder if it was drugs or mental problems. That is something this guy should work on.
this is a show me and my sisters [ back in the 70's ] could watch and not fight over to turn the channel ' we loved it' we were glued to the screen . thank you Kathy Coleman .
Lol I th most of us kids played LAND OF THE LOST with our friends and neighbors. I remember my brother and I Made this contraption in our backyard using a palet and a couple of basketballs to recreate Rapids and we would place our raft from camping on top of the platform and we would recreate the waterfall scene for hours with our friends.
I met Kathy last May at the first-ever Krofft Kon in the Bay Area. She was exceptionally kind and gracious. The night ended with the screening of a classic LOTL episode. As I was about to leave, she gave me a very tender and genuine hug (I was sitting next to her during the showing). It was as if we were old friends. In a sense, I suppose we are -- through our Krofft connection. I was so touched that I actually shed a small tear. That was very pleasant and a treasured memory. I also met Sid and Marty, Wesley, Christopher Knight ("Peter" from The Brady Bunch) and a few other Krofft legends. Everyone was kind and understood the intense bond that was established in our collective childhoods. Special times. If they do another KK, I recommend everyone who grew up with these shows attend.
OMGee I loved this show!! I of course had a crush on Will, Lol! But I was closer to Holly’s age & she was adorable! Years later my family was in a shop in Santa Monica and found the entire collection of Land of the Lost on vhs! I bought it more for myself, because I thought my kids would think the fx were lame... but they loved it and watched every episode with me!! The sleestak scared the crap outta them too! 👽😮😝 I got to relive my childhood with my kids, it was awesome! Especially now that they’re all grown up. 😕 “Marshal, Will & Holly... on a routine expedition... and the greatest earthquake ever known...” 🎼 🌊🚣♀️🧗♀️🦖🍓🦕👽
IMDB says she did a Magic Mountain rollercoaster commercial in 1976. Found it. YT search "Magic Mountain Revolution Rollercoaster TV Commercial 1976". Her scene starts at 35 seconds. Also found her Shakey's Pizza commercial. YT search "1970 Shakey's Pizza Commercial "Goldilocks and the Three Bears"" and she is in the entire commercial. IMDB did not list her Burger King commercial, though. If she was 17, then it was in 1979. The commercials were no longer focusing on "Have it your way", but on the BurgerKing being magical.
In the seventies that child was a good actor and a good person it shows in her later years and throughout her whole life thank you for catching this clip I was once the 70s kid and I watch Land of the Lost 2
I remember that show. And eagerly waiting for the upcoming episode every Saturday morning. Was a favorite. Glad to hear she's happy. I'll check out her book. Refreshing to see a positive story. 👍 .
I was born in 1966 and yes I had a big crush on Kathy Coleman to truth is my big crush was on her and Darla hood from the our gang and what as funny as Kathy Coleman grow up I never notice her getting taller and wearing the same clothes but as a say these two girl's were my first love 💘
So loved this show, so glad she had a good life afterwards, so often I dread opening these Where are they now type stories to find the bad I didn't want to kmow.
thank you for this! I'm reading her memoir now. I'm in my early 50's and I'll, every now and then, binge watch Land of the Lost. Thank you for the memories.
The 1970's and 1980's had the best cartoons and shows also movies I was born in 1971 and I remember a lot of the good times back then it's just not like it use to be !!!!🙂📺🎞️🎥📽️🎬👍
Was in second or third grade I think when this show debuted. And we had a new kid that came into our school. His last name was Slezak. From what I know of Czechoslovakian ancestry. Needless to say his name was changed to Sleestack. As this show grew in popularity. And more of us in school were watching it. It took a many years to get rid of that nickname.
As a 10 year old back when the show came on, Holly was a babe. Plus the show had a strong family concept, and the show was strangely interesting to watch.
@@jdsundstrom: I couldn't agree more. It made you as a kid feel that no matter what would happen on the show, all would be okay in the end because they had each other. Plus it made it just a little more believable as things probably would be the same for you if it were your own family...at least I imagined most kids thought that way too then.
And to your point about the movie version. It could have been SO GOOD if it had been made into a serious film following the original TV series. We would be having a franchise by now on Episode 7.
The show was resurrected in the late 1980s and I became a fan then. I don't know at what point I realized the show was not current--it wasn't immediate, but a little later on. I did like Holly quite a bit. All three Marshalls did make for a family you could easily care about.
I laughed at the first part of your video....I too would watch every Saturday....mostly to watch Holly! 😍 thanks for the look back...I'll buy her book!!
I was born in 64 and for some odd reason I always associated LoTL with Star Wars. When it came on Starlog magazine had just begun hitting the shelves at the local grocery stores. Then my Dad took me and my brother to see a little unknown flick at the local Cinema on the first Saturday after its release called Star Wars.. I still remember playing the Arcade games in the lobby at Lochwood. Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia really reminded me of a grown up Holly.. funny how all your memories can blend together. Funny.. later I recall Carrie Fisher in an Austrailian film called "Timestream" about a City that traveled up and down the Timestream like a moving railroad.. the early 80's was a bizzare time... then Tron came along.
The Sleestak were truly creepy. I still remember their haunting hissing sound. Holly/Kathy was the show's real standout, though. Her character's image is still instantly recognizable; and she was always so innocent and vulnerable, yet so resilient and adaptable.
Gotta admit I had a crush on Holly in the 70's. Enjoyed Land of the Lost, but my favorite Sid & Marty Krofft show was H. R. Pufnstuf. Can't get a little, can't get enuf. And The Bugaloos. Let's not forget Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. I was a member of the official Banana Splits Fan Club. Your videos always bring up a lot of innocent childhood memories, Dave. Thanks for sharing.
Marshall, Will and Holly On a routine expedition Met the greatest earthquake ever known! Haha, loved that show. Btw, I always wanted to try Stone Soup.
Thank you for the video. I don't think I missed an episode of Land Of The Lost, and felt sorely betrayed by the movie : ( I had a crush on Holly too!! Cheers!
She was one of the more memorable characters on the show, only because I also had a crush on her. The other memorable piece was the music intro with the banjo & the first line of the lyrics I've never forgotten... "Marshall, Will & Holly, on a routine expedition...". I've never watched the 2009 remake, with Farrell.
Another terrific video Dave! Sometime between 5 and 10 years ago, a cable channel aired the classic episodes. I watched faithfully, even as I was approaching 50. It was at that time that I was blown away buy some of the writers names that I would see on screen. You mentioned them in another video, if I recall. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see this one episode that has haunted me since childhood. I don't know if _"haunted"_ is the right word, but it certainly stuck with me. I'm only going by what I remember as a kid, but I remember her going down a hole on a rope. She ended up cutting her hand on the rope as she did so. A short time later she somehow meets a woman who helps her, encourages her and (I think) even lets her know that she will get out of the _Land of the Lost_ someday. We come to discover later on that this woman is an older version of Holly, because she has a scar on her hand where she cut it on a rope as a child. What always excited me about that show was the mystery of it all. The pylons, the ancient city, the lights in the sky, _Enik_ and the rest of the Sleestak. What a fantastic show.
I'm glad you liked the video, Thomas. You're right. What the show lacked in budget and SFX, it made up for in heart and well-written scripts. Here's a great page about the episode you mentioned: firebreathingdimetrodon.wordpress.com/2016/03/22/land-of-the-lost-1-15-elsewhen/
@@jdsundstrom Thanks so much! I must say, I'm more than a little surprised that I remembered it as well as I did. I love it when shows don't talk down to kids. One of my pet peeves with television sci-fi in general is the trope of adding a little kid to the show in order to provide a character for children watching to relate to. You see, I always wanted to be _Race Bannon_ when I watched *_Jonny Quest,_* not Johnny himself. It's perhaps one reason I gravitated more towards *_Star Trek_* more than *_Lost in Space._* I didn't want to be _Will Robinson_ when I watched, I wanted to be _Major Don West_ or _Professor Robinson._ I'm a big *_Babylon 5_* fan, and I'd forgotten _DC Fontana_ wrote more than one episode. I was always so impressed at how many that _Joe Straczynski_ wrote himself. I think he even broke a record for how many episodes had been written in a row for a TV show. If not, he should have. I think there was a preposterously long stretch there where he wrote every single episode save one by the fantastic _Neil Gaiman_ (love his work!). Ummm. . .I think I'm just starting to babble at this point (no pun intended). Thanks again for the link Dave.
The Sci-Fi Channel ran the original episodes around the time the Will Ferrell movie came out. I watched the original episodes, but never have even wanted to see the movie. That was the 1st time I had seen them since they were on TV the 1st time.
I remember this episode as well. It was also one of my all time favorites of the show. The episode where the machines get stuck on their arrival and one set of the Marshalls escaped while another one gets caught was also a favorite! Both these episodes dealt with aspects of time travel beyond the original premise. I think this show help to develop this interest in me, which is still strong today. Part of my sci-fi library is devoted to this topic. I haven't seen an episode in decades but can still remember at least some of the opening song. Let me Know how much I have forgotten. Here it goes: Marshall, Will and Holly were on a routine expedition, when then greatest earthquake ever known ..... (here it showed the rock falling and blocking their path home) High in the mountains struck their tiny(?) raft and threw/sent(?) them a thousand feet below to the land of the lost.
I'm a millennial and I love The Land of the Lost; I'd go as far as saying it's my favorite TV show. Your channel is pretty cool and it's interesting to think that there's this little community on RUclips that still harbors 60's-70's entertainment.
I remember having a crush on her during that time...like you we were almost the same age (I believe she is a year older than me) and although I didn't know it at the time, it turns out she was born in the town right next to where I was born and living then (she in Weymouth and me in Abington if anyone knows the area). Nice to know she didn't wind up like many child actors do, thanks for the post.
I absolutely loved this Saturday morning show. My parents forbid me to watch it ,if my baby sister was around. She was terrified of it. Which at the time , made me want to watch it even more. LMAO.
Omg, same here!!. She was ALWAYS around though. Sometimes I watched it anyway, which got my butt warmed up because I disobeyed my dad, but it was worth it!!!
Born in 68, i used to love watching this show. The writing actually made me think and i loved the actors so much. Kathy was a boyhood crush for sure and i know she's done Cons near me so i hope to catch her someday.
I watched it, and was very intrigued by the pylons. The one episode that frightened me as a child was when the Marshalls were chased by the robotic (armature) dinosaur. I still remember that, and Garn, and much of the rest.
Thanks again for watching! You can check out a few more of my latest videos right here: ruclips.net/p/PLWqdpL8ywoVvCnrPzVt49LxK-gj-L1_nw

Kids growing up today missed out on those magical days of the 70's .
It's funny how the 1950s seemed so far away then but for a 30 or 40 year stretch we all had similar childhoods. Now it's different.

The movie with Jim Carry setting in front of the T.V. taking it all in reminded me of myself at that age :)
I’m at ‘72 and remember Land of the Lost! Loved that show as a kid.
Great show. I was born in 1974 but remember watching reruns in the late 70’s. I clearly remember the T-Rex on TV, turning around and roaring. It was very scary to a 3-4 year old kid!
Those sleestaks were what gave me nightmares!
Thank you Kathy Coleman for my childhood memories. Saturday morning cartoons and shows like yours has never been the same since.
Land of the lost was a must see Saturday morning tv classic.
There were several casting call auditions for this show. Kathy's mom dressed her in that plaid shirt and pigtails. She was dressed the same for each audition. Her mom wanted them to remember her daughter out of the dozens of others. They hired Kathy and liked the look so much they kept it for the the show.
I love the cartoons on Saturday Really Miss those days
I like how Kathy describes it...Saturday mornings were our time in front of the TV. Mom and Dad were most likely sleeping after a tough week and, for three or four short hours, we got to choose what to watch!
Always loved Superfriends. Ted Knight did the narrating on it. I can still hear his deep voice saying, "Now, at the Hall of Justice".
I watched this show religiously 1974-1976 in our nice shag-carpeted house, but around 1977 came The Bugs Bunny Roadrunner Show and that was my regular show until about 1985.

@@jdsundstrom Very true. Messing up the coffee table with Froot Loops.
I loved Land of the Lost because it and Dark Shadows prepared me for my love of Doctor Who; a low budget series with great stories, great acting, and the ability to convince you that the monster with the zipper up its back will take over the world.
DS is still amazing and I'm going through season 1 of Land of the Lost for the first time in over 40 years. I never could get into Dr. Who.
My pleasure, Steve. It's fun to find "kindred spirits" on the comment threads of my videos.
And Kolchack the Night Stalker
Don't forget the Carol Burnett Show.
Alright!!!, that's it!!!, I'm making a TIME Machine and going back to the 1970s, who's with me?
Brings a tear to my eye, reading your list of all the really amazing and simply entertaining shows and movies that cinema and television produced back then. Shows that made you want to tune in to watch them. These days, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on air to compete with anything made for tv back then. The golden age of Television has long since passed on, never to be repeated. Ever.
Born in '67 so I was one of those kids that watched this every Saturday morning.
And...what was your cereal of choice, Richard?

It's a shame that children today will never know the excitement and anticipation of having to wait for Saturday cartoons. I hate this instant gratification world or maybe I'm just gettin old.
Me too
I loved the series; I still get goosebumps during the opening theme with the well timed to the music crash of the rock behind their raft, sealing off their retreat.
I loved Land Of The Lost when i was a kid
I loved that series as a child and greatly appreciates Sid and Marty Crofts contribution to childrens entertainment. I still love the series. Its is good science fiction. I still appreciate what the writers put into the series. And the actors.
The ‘70s is truly the land of the lost.

I watched that show every Saturday.
Glad she managed to stay normal instead of getting caught up in the Hollywood Craziness!
Brings back lots of good memories. Glad she has a good life. God bless her.
I won't even consider watching the horrible remake movie. As soon as I saw the name Will Ferrell, I was out.
I watched it. It was just okay.
Secretly crushed on the character Holly in the 70's show and the movie version as well with Will Ferrell!
You said it perfectly!👍
I love that song from Kellys Heroes. Had no idea Holly helped sing it!
Hello Dave! These videos are so great! I'm 54 and everyone you cover has been part of my growing up!
I used to watch this all the time!
Ah - the memories of those amazing Saturday mornings! It just wasn't a complete weekend without Holly Marshall and the Land Of The Lost. I'm glad to hear that she lived a good life. Cheers Kathy!!
Thanks for the great comments!
Thanks for sharing your memories, Oscar!
I really had a crush on her as a preteen..yes I'm THAT old.
She's MY girlfriend! Imma fight you after school!

52 years old. On Saturday morning looked forward to Land of the Lost, Speed Buggy, and Bugs Bunny cartoons. In the 70's cable was nowhere near our home. Could still watch shows for a good 4-5 hours. That's enough TV time when your 7 anyway
As a kid, my brain was turned to Taffy by Kathy Coleman and Kim Richards. I wish her the very best! Super Cool, Dave! 👍

I really would like to know the story on Kristy McNichols.

Well, being a straight girl, I didn't have a crush on Holly. But I totally wanted to be her. I remember playing Land of the Lost with my friends.
I recall playing Land of the Lost with my friends at recess as well. Good times!
Lol I th most of us kids played LAND OF THE LOST with our friends and neighbors. I remember my brother and I Made this contraption in our backyard using a palet and a couple of basketballs to recreate Rapids and we would place our raft from camping on top of the platform and we would recreate the waterfall scene for hours with our friends.
we did also '' we get my mom's fancy gemston's out and play with changing the weather etc. 'lol ' i like to do it again' .
I got to relive my childhood with my kids, it was awesome! Especially now that they’re all grown up. 😕

That Shakey's commercial is super cool!
I had a major crush on Kathy when I was a kid. I'm 53 now, but I will never forget Holly and Land of the Lost!

That sense of family is an important part of what made the original Land of the Lost so successful.
@@jdsundstrom:
I couldn't agree more. It made you as a kid feel that no matter what would happen on the show, all would be okay in the end because they had each other. Plus it made it just a little more believable as things probably would be the same for you if it were your own family...at least I imagined most kids thought that way too then.
At 10 a boy doesn't really understand his feelings when he sees a pretty girl. He just knows that it makes him happy for some reason. LoL.
And to your point about the movie version. It could have been SO GOOD if it had been made into a serious film following the original TV series. We would be having a franchise by now on Episode 7.
Thanks for all you do. Enjoyed my time in the 70s!

Hello from Ventura California...
Thank you for the Video..
Yah, me too. Hello from Kaysville, Utah.
I'm sure Kathy will appreciate the purchase! Thanks for the nice comment. 🙂
Did I forget to mention that she also was curious and compassionate? A truly amazing character.

It's perhaps one reason I gravitated more towards *_Star Trek_* more than *_Lost in Space._* I didn't want to be _Will Robinson_ when I watched, I wanted to be _Major Don West_ or _Professor Robinson._
I'm a big *_Babylon 5_* fan, and I'd forgotten _DC Fontana_ wrote more than one episode.
Here it goes:
Marshall, Will and Holly were on a routine expedition, when then greatest earthquake ever known .....
(here it showed the rock falling and blocking their path home)
High in the mountains struck their tiny(?) raft and threw/sent(?) them a thousand feet below to the land of the lost.
I love this! I loved Land of the Lost and Burning Bridges is one of my favorite songs. Trivia connections like this make me happy. Thanks!
Marshall, Will and Holly ... on a routine expedition. Loved that show. It had the most realistic-looking dinosaurs for it's time and good plots.
I'm a millennial and I love The Land of the Lost; I'd go as far as saying it's my favorite TV show. Your channel is pretty cool and it's interesting to think that there's this little community on RUclips that still harbors 60's-70's entertainment.
Thanks for the kind words about my channel and welcome to our little community!
This was cool to see how she has done. I don't miss having so few channels of back then but now there are hundreds of channels playing absolute crap.
Oh, the 70's the best! SATURDAYS, GOOD MEMORIES! I remember some of the after school specials were good too. The best music era to this date!!!
