I recently switched to a iPhone 13mini. I didn’t like all the huge androids that are on the market rn and I honestly love it so far. I see why people like both and honestly some android phones are awesome! It feels nice to be more in communication with my friends easily tho bc most of my friends use FaceTime and Apple does have some nice features. I guess it varies person to person. I got tired of android also tbh

My main reason to stay with Android is the assistant and its integration with my smart home devices. I also like not being locked to a specific brand, so I have a Samsung phone, Fossil watch, lenovo smart display, Amazon tablet
My google smart home is on top of that already. I ordered my first Iphone since 2015 and that same day, for the first time ever, my Google hub said: If you want me remind you on an Iphone , you have to download to google home app.
Consumer should be able to have a choice in the hardware they want to use and not get locked in to one specific company/brand. It is all about varieties and selections.
So great to see someone coming from iOS who has actually put the time into learning Android in and out and can sincerely speak about pros and cons. Unfortunately, something I don´t see often!
One of the best videos I’ve seen on the subject. Thanks. You did a good job of providing information but keeping it fair and balanced. I’m a pixel user. I’ve used an iPhone for the two week trial a couple of times, including the iPhone 12, and I’ve gone back to the Pixel, now on the pixel 5. For me the pros of the pixel outweigh those of the iPhone. Fortunately video recording has drastically improve this year on the Pixel 5. The video stabilization in my opinion is better on the Pixel 5 than iPhone 12. Overall image quality is still slightly better on the iPhone.
I am on Pixel 2 XL best device I have used so far, still waiting for a good processor on Pixel range to upgrade though 2 XL has not slowed down except the battery capacity.
Sam just switched from a iPhone 11 to the Pixel 5. Google and the stuff they are doing software side gets me excited about mobile phones again. Reminds me of back when every new smartphone released you'd watch a review to see what new features it was bringing to market iOS and apple are really stale compared to Google and android in my opinion.
@@sammymay5281 absolutely, Android got so much more flexibility. Also even on iOS I always used Chrome since I used it on my pc too, now all my password are saved on both device. I know that iOS 14 let you decide your password filler but the native integration with apps too is far better. Getting Google Translate on Gboard and in background always available is another good thing, what I absolutely love about Pixels is the features where you can select whatever is at screen and copy/translate/lens it.
I did flirt with iOS earlier this year when a friend and I swopped phones for a month. I liked iOS a lot more after iOS 14 came out. Still quite a lot of minor annoyances with iOS but nothing really major. Agree that WhatsApp only saving message to either Google Drive or iCloud is a pain, wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me if I really wanted to make the switch.

I feel like I'm one of the very few who still enjoys navigation buttons on Android. A tap is so much faster than a swipe ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
But guys with gestures on Android 10 I have problem with Netflix that I just can't make it to go into tiny window in corner to continue watching and use different app. Do you have same problem?
As someone who uses custom roms, the extra customization options that they give isn't a lot and they're not even that good, and I never use them, and I wouldn't recommend getting a custom rom for customization.
@@emdjir5948 I don't know what custom ROMs you've tried, but I had a phone with stock Android One (the light version of Android stock), and after installing a custom ROM called Havoc OS I got a very big performance improvement (one game literally went from being completely broken due to low framerates to being perfectly playable), and lots of customization options that I constantly use and that have improved my experience considerably, as well as better graphics that I prefer to stock Android.
I hate that about apple. I used to have Spotify as my default music player and I switched to youtube music and now I'm back to Spotify again on my OnePlus device. They don't force you to use one thing as a default that's why I like android devices. Even when I used to have an iPhone 6, I used Spotify to listen to music
Stop bragging lmao Android phones always have default music players almost nobody use because of spotify etc, Apple music is the same thing and you're not forced to use it, i used to download songs and put them on my iPhone without any issues! So this is the most retarded thing to compare but iPhone is better anyway no chip today can compete with the iPhone 12 it's chip.
@@Supremepikachu no it doesn't. When you download a new music player, it'll ask you which player you want to use on android devices. Talking about faster processor, why doesn't iphones have multitasking options or desktop mode? And have you ever seen iphones running apps that isn't optimised for thier devices? And also what about thermal throttling issues? App developers doesn't optimize apps for android devices like they do for apple and yet our performance difference isn't that huge and we still don't have that thermal throttling issues like you guys have
@Rommel the Cat Well yeah no that has Google Play Music no? Thats atleast what i used on my Google Nexus 5 back in the day such a good phone the OS was smooth compared to samsung etc o,O
I have a Pixel 4a and an iPhone XR. TBH both are good but Android gives a feeling of a complete mini computer, and the notification management is far far better. I just the wish the battery stand-by times were better on Android. Edit: Adding split screen which is very useful time to time.
I’ve been an Android user pretty much since they were first launched. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my fair share of Android products. Last year I decided to switch to iOS. Bought the iPhone12. I have to say it was probably the best choice I’ve made. Everything feels smoother, easier to access, apps feel like they work better, iOS is a safer OS and much more. I used to hate on Apple products for a long time, mostly because of the closed OS. I can tell you that I swallowed my pride once I started using this phone. It’s just incredibly good.
If you felt that iPhone is smoother you haven't had an Android equivalent to iPhone I can't say I would ever go back from my 120hz screen to and iPhone screen
@@Chessmapling yet the iPhone 13 doesn't. Like I don't want to spend $1400 on a phone that came out late 2021 that doesn't even have a 120hz display. Also I think higher refresh rates are a big selling point for a lot of people including me, so it's quite annoying how they didn't give it a 120hz display.
@@Luck161 well now you're just making up numbers. the regular iphone 13 is no where near $1400. Looking at apple's website right now tells me it's $800.
I understand fully wanting to change an operating system after a while. I’d bee on Android for 8 years until the s10+ when I changed to IOS to the 11 Pro Max. It wasn’t because Samsung and Android were bad I just wanted a change. I’ve really enjoyed the iPhone for the past year and will continue with it. However I am buying a phone for work and have chosen the pixel 5. Am looking forward to this experience as have never had a pixel before. Now I will have the best of both worlds.
I’m guilty for switch between OS on a yearly basis. My heart is Android but iOS is just overall better (when you’re invested in the ecosystem). When you truly enjoy iOS is when you have more Apple devices, they sync nicely and simplify processes. iOS is simple and very constrained, good or bad? That depends on you and what’s your workflow. Android is more free spirited, do what you want, use what you want, get what you want.
Switched from iphone x to pixel 5 and as I do miss the simplicity of apple music and podcasts, it's a far cry from everything else the pixel 5 does. The fingerprint scan in the back is perfect during covid and the phone is significantly light and just feels more comfortable. I always like switching between OS's every phone upgrade and it's very nice to use
Thanks for speaking to what it's like to switch between Android and iOS! After speaking with the low vision rehab specialist at the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, a lot of people in my situation find it more straightforward to work with the iPhone's accessibility options. I've been struggling with the big differences in accessibility desigs between different versions of Android, even when provided by the same brand like Samsung. So I was really excited to see the topic of your video here; thank you. :)
I REALLY like the camera on my Samsung Galaxy S10. I know that's "obsolete" for you RUclipsrs, but the video stabilization continues to amaze me. When I'm out on the lake in my boat going pretty fast, making sharp turns, and going over waves, my friend's iPhone X looks super choppy. But when I turn on Super Stable mode on the S10, it looks like we're barely moving up and down. Its incredible. I don't know if that is at all important to you, just thought I'd say that
I switched 2years ago and mostly I found not that much was different. The two things that keeps me on android are the notifications menu and the phone prices.
Honestly, I really though about making the opposite switch, but I pretty much dropped the idea because I bought an iPad and realized how broken notifications are on iOS. I’m ok going through that on my tablet that I don’t use for getting my notifications in the first place often, but having fine control over which notifications I wanna get is paramount on the device where I actually sort through every notification. I basically don’t get promotional notifications anymore and it’s honestly a piece of mind I don’t see myself letting go of.
I really like how you explain that clear and understandable even in 1.5 speed. And also not biased that people will gonna agree, hope ur channel grow fast 🗿👍
My first deciding factors in order: Immersive, fluid display. (For great media and gaming experience). - Currently rocking a 1440p90 display. 2 day battery life. Camera. I've always wanted a reason to switch to IOS, but Apple just hasn't been able to deliver in the display department since the birth of the iPhone.
i did the opposite recently, i started feeling restricted by android and hated dealing with hundreads of third party apps and crappy apps that dont run well, not to mention that apps just run better in general on iphone, and the battery life is so much better, after 5 years of android i ended up switching and i could not be happier with my decision.
I also recently switched from a Note 9 to an iPhone 12 Pro Max. While the iPhone has great battery life, so did the Note 9. In two years of use, I never once went below 20% battery. It comes down to the phone, more than the OS.
@@TonyKilbourn I don't really need to. I have same accounts for every app on both devices, so everything is synced. And if I do want to share, I use either Google drive or a file sharing app called "send anywhere".
@@ravirajyaguru5905 ok thank you! As a student I use my iPad for notability and procreate for sketches but I love the Samsung’s fold for its innovation. But I won’t be able to airdrop scans or pictures of homework sheets on to my iPad, I’ll try out send anywhere.
Back in like 2013 I switched from an iPhone to a Nexus 5 simply because I couldn't use the iPhone as a hard drive (plug it into my computer, and drag files from the phone to my computer). That was it. That was the reason. I never missed any of the apps or features of the iPhone and aside from sorta class war stuff regarding blue iMessage bubbles, there were no issues. I tried to switch back to an iPhone a couple of months ago (started a new relationship and thought it would be cool to both be on iPhones) and made it about 10 day before switching back to my Pixel 3 and returning the iPhone. The reason? There is no touch unlock on current iPhones. That's it. That's the reason. And that you can't use iMessage on a Windows machine - that sucked too.
Very informative video. I'm guessing you went back to iOS but the way you framed it here...who knows? Which is refreshing. It seems like in every tech video ios vs android, the user ends up going back to iOS for this reason or that. Every time.
As a multilingual, I have a problem with finding books and music in my native language on any store, being Apple or Google. I like how Google let's you upload your own music, on RUclips music and books, on Google play books.
In Japan, literally "everyone" use a messaging app called LINE which exists in iOS and Android. So when switching between iphone and android, we don't really have to consider about communication tool, because experience will be the same.
It's similar to what happens in Mexico. Almost everybody uses WhatsApp, and I've found just two people who use Telegram, for example. Even carriers offer free - mobile data plans for WhatsApp, so you could imagine why nobody uses the default messaging apps.
I just switched back to iPhone after 1,5 years of giving Android a try (Samsung S10). I think unless you have a Pixel, Android is still very choppy and unreliable especially if you are using your phone for getting important work done on the go. My S10 crashed at least 10 times, usually when I needed it the most because apps are not optimized. And then the UX in incomparable to iOS.. And lastly, if you have any other apple product it just doesn't make sense not to have an iPhone, the relation between devices is now seamless and better than ever and the price gap between Android and iOS devices doesn't exist anymore.
There are very small things that make me wanna stay with android (I have the S10e) and it's the built in fingerprint sensor in the power button, and the capability to freely rearrange applications. I do LOVE how flawless the apple ecosystem is, Like Imessage and especially airdrop. As of right now If apple could at least bring back Touch ID I'd probably make the switch
@@fadumahassan3646 I’ve never used Touch ID even when I had a home button; yet that really held me back from upgrading. But when I did switch Face ID was great; but with masks it’s useless; a built in fingerprint sensor would be very interesting and would pull me towards upgrading again.
I actually don’t know if switching to android from iOS will work for me, but the manner in which you explain makes me instantly switch to android😅. Good content though.
Love your video dude! I did want to say though, that as someone who's fairly big into gaming, I actually prefer Samsung Galaxy over iPhone. - With Samsung I can still play Fortnite - I can use Xbox Game Pass, Google Stadia, or Nvidia Geforce Now to stream games from the cloud - Android allows you to download emulators from the play store
I think switching from iOS to Google Pixel is much easier because stock Android is simple like iOS. However, Android has far more capabilities than how it is in Pixel. I used to be a fans of stock Android until I start to explore other Android OEMs. There are lots of OEMs provide many useful features which is not found on stock Android. However, I think most people who like Google Pixel or iPhone might not understand the beauty of it. I strongly suggest you to go beyond Pixel before switching back to iPhone. Otherwise, you will miss a lot of fun on Android. BTW, since you are using Google Chrome. You may look into Join by Joas, it is a good bridge between phone and computer.
I did the opposite last year and switched to iPhone after the OS update allowing for an app drawer and widgets and PiP functionality. Most loved iOS feature is iMessage and integration with my kid’s iPads(approving apps downloaded, purchases, etc.) However iOS is still a little more locked down than I would like and the lack of true multitasking like on Android (split screen apps) so I’m switching back this fall, preferably with the Pixel 6 Pro. Both OSs have grown pretty similar in use now though.
Google has photos and other cloud services that let you backup damn near anything to all devices and Nearby Share is similar to Apple Airdrop from what I've seen. Great video I've always loved how you go in depth into everything and do reviews after a longer period of time.
Used IOS from day one and really enjoyed it. I decided to give android a try in 2013 by using a budget Samsung- it was terrible. The whole experience was awful, and could not wait to go back to IOS. Last year I decided to get an A50 and gotta say, Android and Samsung have come a long way- I love it now.
@@byicee5059 its true. An iPhone starts at $800.00 CAD, my A50 was $280.00. All I was comparing was the OS between the phones. But for a budget phone, its served itd purpose and has been going strong for the last 2 years.
I switched from android to iOS and iOS is wayyyy smother and feels way nicer with all these sleek animations and simplicity than android. Get yourself a used iPhone, they are cheap
@@Paulzmusic You clearly don't know what you're talking about. Even a $300 android has 120Hz Display now. No iphone user has experienced 120Hz Display. It is drastically smoother. And if we're to talk about UI then Android has thousands of launchers and everything is customizable even down to the animations. Don't like default settings even though personally I think they're way better? Change them. Lastly iPhones being "Cheaper" is straight up bullshit. The cheapest iPhones is still way more expensive than a great Android. It is also extremely small and terrible in comparison. Practically unusable for content consumption.
@@arcanethink Firstly there is no such thing as an "great android". Who likes androids? Nobody. There no cool people using androids, and the cool people who use android get paid for that. Even huaweis family members use iPhones because android sucks. Ok just kidding I like android too
I do really relate to this video, I've been an iOS user for the most part but almost an year ago I decided to go with android and I was surprised how similar they both are. I do like notifications, RAM management and the Google keyboard, although I do miss simple things like much better auto brightness and stuff. I'll be sticking with android although iOS 14 had made great progress but overall I get a similar experience on Android with much much better hardware I the areas I care about (screen and screen refresh rate for example).
Well, I recently switched from a galaxy note 8 to a temporary iphone 7 (and airpods). Well, I'm conflicted. I don't really care about cameras. But I do miss some android features. But I also got hooked on the way things work in the apple ecosystem. The airpods functionality is magical. The new pros apparently are the the best earbuds on the market right now, if I buy an Iphone 12, I'm definitely buying it with airpods pros. But man, firgerprint scanner is something I miss so much. Better battery life, notifications previews and secure folder as well. But the thing that binds me to the iphone is its longevity, updates and resale value. Damn. I don't know. If I were to buy an android, It would probably be a xiaomi mi 10 pro. If I were to buy an Iphone, it would probably be the mini.
Actually I’m also confused between S22 Ultra & 13 pro max. I’m currently using iPhone 11 Pro but now it feels boring because of the notch & 60hz display, though I also have iPad Pro & AirPods Pro so I’m partially into apple ecosystem but it’s not a big deal because I can get same features with S22 Ultra & galaxy buds.
@@nuzzky Well, I ended up buying an S21 Ultra 2 months after this comment. Pretty amazing phone, I wouldn't go for the Iphone Pro Max anyway because it's extremely large and uncomfortable to hold. And yeah, I can't live without the fingerprint scanner anymore. The only drawback I have with this phone after almost a year is the battery life, because I have the Exynos version, and this I don't recommend at all. If you don't have access to the snapdragon version, don't buy a Samsung. I bought it because people were saying that THIS time, the exynos version wasn't bad and in many scenarios actually surpassed the snapdragon. Bullshit. Exynos doesn't have longevity at all. Galaxy buds were quite disappointing for me though. They keep falling from my ear. Pretty annoying. Noise cancel is good though. Anyway, I don't plan on switching my phone anytime soon. It may be too soon to bring this up, but I have a feeling my next phone will be a google pixel. It's simply the top-quality for android smartphones.
I switched to iOS from Android some weeks ago. My Huawei P20 Pro is so laggy and stuttery after 1.5 years (it happened to all my Android devices after their last update), it made me switch to iPhone. And maaan, I love how smooth everything is, even the apps! Everything is 60 fps, I think I won’t switch back. Even Google apps work better on iOS! For example after the Android 10 update, Chrome on my P20 Pro started freezing a lot. Nothing like that happens on iOS. The battery? It now has about 1-2 hours less screen on time, which is a lot! I had 2 updates since own iPhone, and nothing changed! Everything still buttery smooth, and I have an average of 6-7 hours of screen on time! This phone easily survives a weekend with low usage (my S7 Edge and P20 Pro were eating 2-3% per hour just sitting on the table. I don’t have to check 5 times a day anymore what is eating the battery, I just have to use my phone. Love it.
I can relate and I’m trying to decide myself. I’ve been an iPhone user since the iPhone 4. In general terms, iOS is a very reliable, simple to use and things “just work.” The Google Assistant, however, is what has me thinking about making the switch since I’ve gotten a couple of Google smart home devices and I imagine the integration with the Pixel and Android 11 with smart controls could be worth it. Plus, Siri is just useless. It can’t no even play music from my liked playlist in Spotify and when asking for directions it will sometimes suggest locations in the US (I live in Canada). Apple works really well when you use their services. If you prefer other apps, it just doesn’t work as seamlessly.
we had Samsung in 2010 but everyone in my family switched to Apple iPhone since 2015. We love Facetime video with family members all over simultaneously. Not all cars support car integration with android auto, yet they all do for Apple Carplay.
I came here for six month reviews not 12 so upset will be unsubbing >:( lol i kid, i kid excellent review and honestly having a pixel for the android is the way to go imo. having that official google product stamp helps with future development.
I agree with most of the things you said. However, I don't believe the gaming experience is better on iOS, especially with modern Qualcomm SoCs like the Snapdragon 855 and 865 quickly catching up with the Apple A series of chips in terms of computing and graphics performance. Additional to that, android brands have pretty much embraced vapor chambers and copper heat pipes as a way of cooling the device, while the newer iPhones have been showing thermal throttling problems since the very first day they were released. And finally, iPhones were on a good path of increasing their battery capacity year after year, but with this year's models they have just gone back to the small battery and that translates into less gaming hours. So no, there are waay better option for gaming like the OnePlus 8T or the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, which are pretty well rounded phones.
Let's face it. Android has always been the winner for the past several years and only gets better as time goes by. People sticking to iPhones are those that want a simple phone or Apple fans but even so, some fans are also turning to Android.
I love both and would not sway anyone either way. Get what you enjoy most. FWIW I found that an iPhone was best for me when I was working, pre-COVID, as my ecosystem is Apple-centric. However, my personal phone is an Android, currently S20 Ultra after a brief run with the Pixel 5 (not for me).
@@ayyookc It was a good device but too small in the end. I am now using a Pixel 4a 5g that I got for £360 and that is great especially after the April update which has improved performance significantly.
Nice and informative video, Josh. I’m using an iPhone for many years now, and sincs a few years I’m much more in Apple’s ecosystem, with my iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, mac mini and HomePod. As much as I would like to have look on the other side, it’s just way too hard and expensive to simply switch. In the meantime however, I have Google Nest minis around the house and am subscribed to RUclips Music (because YT Premium and not wanting to pay for two music services), so who knows... On the other hand, Apple always puts a lot of thought in their products. They’re high quality, well thought out and work together so seamlessly. While Google has a tendency to do whatever and “experiment” a lot with their products and services. Idk 😅
I went the other way. I was with Android for 10 years and switched to iPhone. After some growing pains I'd say after over half a year I'm pleased with it. I do prefer Android though, especially notifications but there are pros and cons to both. I wouldn't mind having my iPhone for awhile and switching back and forth with a Pixel 4a or 5a when it comes out. Pixels are so simple to use. I'd say they are the iPhone of Android. I always had Samsungs but after using a Pixel I'd probably never buy a Samsung again.
But iPhone/iPad are better for gaming no matter how long you play untill you play mobile version of battle royale games. iPhone can perform great unless you play huge games which requires lot process power and graphics
@@strangerui4009 That's weird. My dad's 12 Pro max heats up when I'm just taking videos! He also plays Minecraft with my little brother and it gets hot to the touch.

I’m an iPhone 11 user and have used android before multiple times but I keep going back to my iPhone. I think the thing about android that I don’t like is that it sometimes feels too cluttered and confusing, they do have some cool features but I never find my self using them and I don’t know where to start, I like iPhone because it is simple and straight to the point, although you can’t customize things as much it does leave me not so over whelmed with things and it just being simple. Anyways great review
Thanks for such in-depth explanation! I used to have an iPhone up to 6s, then I switched to Pixel 3 cause I wanted more customization and better camera features; however, I'm thinking switching back to iPhone again (to the 12 Pro) because of its advanced hardware and finally a decent update on iOS, but mainly because of the way Android handles photos: it creates a lot of unnecessary folders and it's very messy when you need to look from within an app, also since I have an iMac and a MacBook Pro, I'm not able to download photos directly from the Android phone by cable (without installing a bunch of apps), rather I have to go to Google photos and download them (which uses time and internet data). Have you had issues regards to that? Did you end up getting the new iPhone? do you have any update on that? Cheers and thanks again!
I really appreciated this video. You hit a lot of good points and helped me in my decision of switching back to android and getting a pixel 5. iOS has been great but I do miss having a bit more freedom on android. Plus with apps I miss that aren’t in the AppStore and Xcloud being only android. I think I made the right decision.
Great video! And the totally agree with using both as being the best of both worlds. I use a Galaxy S20 as my play phone for gaming, video watching, tinkering; and my iPhone for “work” and productivity for its reliability and smoothness.
Good video. I switched the other way around and found a lot of similarities like WhatsApp and duplicate contacts. I love the iPhone, but I’m continuously tempted to switch back to Android (specifically Samsung phones) because I detest still in 2020 being stuck with a grid of app icons that are too justified on a huge phone like the 12 Pro Max, and Apple’s complete disregard for the huge display they have on that phone, and how much more they could be doing with it, from allowing real split screen multitasking, to supporting landscape mode home pages, to just adding basic, cerca 2014 Android features like Always On Display. Still, it’s the ecosystem (I use an MBP and Apple Watch), and my family’s use of iOS with iMessage that are currently keeping me with Apple. I very nearly switched to the Fold 2, and may still do that now that I know the Pixel Buds may be the answer to good wireless BT headphones.
I switched from Anddroid to iOS two years ago. Never looked back tbh. I never had a smartphone that was so smooth over such a long time period (I am quite the poweruser). After the same timeframes I would have reset my android phones in the past atleast once. And I just like the OS more. I think it’s so much nicer and smoother than Android. Although I have to admit iPhones and iPads are the only devices I‘d buy from Apple.
Great video and I've been waiting for something like this for a while now! I've been on iOS for years now and on iPhone X since it came out. But I find myself using Google services more and more via Nest, Google Home, Gmail, etc. So I've been looking at the new Pixels for a couple years now and I really like the Pixel 5, so I'm seriously considering making the move. This is very helpful!
I think google is doing cool things on the software side of things, Google's messaging app with smart-reply makes Apple's messaging app feel outdated and old, plus it has its own version of imessage (RCS). I love the new gesture on the Pixel 5 to go back, just swipe from the left or right edge of the display to the center of the screen and your back nice and easy.
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv yes it is Google's version/answer to iMessage as Google is adopting the signal encryption protocol and it will phase out mms and sms. But that was a no brainer.
it's a little weird for me to watch reviews like this or switching from iOS to Android (I'm a lifelong Apple user but just bought a Samsung). a big thing people tend to talk about is the "ecosystem" but the only Apple products I currently use are my phone and my iPod nano (I do also have an iPad mini but it's a 1st gen and I rarely use it anymore). I don't even use iCloud, I don't really feel locked into any ecosystem. hopefully this means that the experience between the two is close enough for me to not be worried about anything, and hopefully I won't have any regretful "the grass is greener on the other side" feelings once I switch.
Thank you I’m not the only one that doesn’t have an ecosystem. It will be a seamless move for you since you’re not with a ball and chain apple products.
You're using stock android widgets and homescreen settings... Its WAY more customizable than you showed, my s20 looks NOTHING like the homescreen style you've set...
Hi, you mentioned that Google Assistant is faster on the pixel specifically. Does this mean GA is more efficient on a pixel device versus other androids?
Google assistant on pixel is a little different than the one on other android phones. Its a gen ahead. But I feel it gets released to other phones too as time goes.
You do know that android can switch launchers and icon packs? The customisation you spoke about is the most basic. Also checkout klwp and kwgt. And what's wrong with Android gaming? The gaming performance is in no way bad.
Android had voice to text , Copy and paste, make any sound or song a ringtone, external memory, picture in picture and do RUclips and Facebook on the same screen. many years before iphone...you can have different user accounts on 1 phone. If youe organization uses G Suite or anything that allows you to setup a work profile, you're going to love that on Android!

I switched 2years ago and mostly I found not that much was different. The two things that keeps me on android are the notifications menu and the phone prices.
wow.. 10 min of discussion and conclusion at same where were at 10 min ago.. Great job.
You can fine tune every single notification on iOS.

My first deciding factors in order:
Immersive, fluid display.
Great video. The best balance IMO is having an Android phone and an iPad as iOS device.
How do you share content between the two?

Every time.

There are some great youtube tech channels growing that I've come across lately, this is one of them👌👍
There are very small things that make me wanna stay with android (I have the S10e) and it's the built in fingerprint sensor in the power button, and the capability to freely rearrange applications.

The new pros apparently are the the best earbuds on the market right now, if I buy an Iphone 12, I'm definitely buying it with airpods pros. But man, firgerprint scanner is something I miss so much. Love it.
It still blows my mind that iPhone doesn’t have camera settings within the actual camera app. C’mon Apple!

Did you decide yet?

IOS is optimized for A series chip thats why although andorid is using snapdragon 888 etc. It is not optimized for andorid device.

Let's face it. Android has always been the winner for the past several years and only gets better as time goes by. People sticking to iPhones are those that want a simple phone or Apple fans but even so, some fans are also turning to Android.
Your videos are a big reason I moved to the Google ecosystem and the Pixel in the first place. Would be a shame to see you go back to iPhone!
What didn’t you like about the pixel?
@@ayyookc It was a good device but too small in the end. I am now using a Pixel 4a 5g that I got for £360 and that is great especially after the April update which has improved performance significantly.
This is brilliant. I've never had an iOS device (Apple). But in 2021. I will be doing the opposite of what you did. Wish me luck.
For heavy gamer, iphone is better? Ever heard of thermal throttling issue in iphone?
But iPhone/iPad are better for gaming no matter how long you play untill you play mobile version of battle royale games. iPhone can perform great unless you play huge games which requires lot process power and graphics
@@strangerui4009
Okay see this which is the exact opposite of what you just said
ruclips.net/video/utVGMjD7VAA/видео.html
@@strangerui4009 That's weird. My dad's 12 Pro max heats up when I'm just taking videos! He also plays Minecraft with my little brother and it gets hot to the touch.
My wife's 12 pro gets hotter than my Redmi note 8 pro when I play COD. The video on my MI 10 ultra is just as good as my wife's iPhone. Sometimes even better.
In 14.2 I’ve noticed my xr no longer heat up anymore perhaps they fixed it but idk how
imagine using gestures
this post was made by the 3 button gang
Daaaaarrlllllllingg
I hate gestures. I'm completely with you on this.
I use a moto x4, that has a middle button that can be used to swipe as pixel devices or if you disable it you get the classic 3 button stuff from android what am I? :c
IMO gestures are a lot better than the buttons
@@ILikeDogz your opinion is wrong
I think nearby share is there to rival airdrop. And you also didn’t speak of the split screen features in android.
Split screen is my favorite feature!
Iphones dont have split screen?? Whaat
@@Mark-ww1vf no, sadly ngl split screen came in handy when I was doing assignments in the car on the go and no other device to use Google so the teacher wouldn't get notified lmao. The teacher never got notified that I left the app so thank you androids for that feature it was the only way I passed my civics test.
@@trinitymoore339 wow. Lol.
Or always on display ! ...I stick the phone on the stand and use it on my bedside table as a clock and alarm ....I would miss that so much if I didn’t have it !
The only app you should need to transfer to a Mac is Android File Transfer. Just drag and drop where ever you want.
I just switched, android just feels off a little bit, but I know that I will 100% grow to like it
I really appreciated this video. You hit a lot of good points and helped me in my decision of switching back to android and getting a pixel 5. iOS has been great but I do miss having a bit more freedom on android. Plus with apps I miss that aren’t in the AppStore and Xcloud being only android. I think I made the right decision.
Glad it was helpful!
That's exactly why I switched to android. I felt like iPhone was just giving you the same thing every year they were just changing the camera.
RCS is not Google's version of iMessage it's the new standard to replace MMS and SMS and Apple will eventually be forced to adopt it
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv yes it is Google's version/answer to iMessage as Google is adopting the signal encryption protocol and it will phase out mms and sms. But that was a no brainer.
New subscriber, awesome contents man...
Why I'm stick to android os, cause it's cheap :) Saving my money.
nice video bro. btw, what store did you get the pixel's cases from?
Google store
it's a little weird for me to watch reviews like this or switching from iOS to Android (I'm a lifelong Apple user but just bought a Samsung). a big thing people tend to talk about is the "ecosystem" but the only Apple products I currently use are my phone and my iPod nano (I do also have an iPad mini but it's a 1st gen and I rarely use it anymore).
Honestly this is great for people switch to iphone from android love the video, also what is the wallpaper for the pixel in the thumbnail?
You're using stock android widgets and homescreen settings...
Its WAY more customizable than you showed, my s20 looks NOTHING like the homescreen style you've set...
@Arithmetic wtf does that have to do with ANDROID being more customizable than he said?
Play the video at 1.75 or 2x speed… the way he speaks is easy to understand and really nice lol. Amazing job . Thanks
how could you forget about the emulation part of mobile gaming, it's the most important factor of gaming when I pick a phone
You have taken the bright side of power, Padawan
Hi, you mentioned that Google Assistant is faster on the pixel specifically. Does this mean GA is more efficient on a pixel device versus other androids?
Google assistant on pixel is a little different than the one on other android phones. Its a gen ahead. But I feel it gets released to other phones too as time goes.
I switch from iphone to pixel 3xl. And I am very happy. This will last 5 years lol
Download any song you want free and can listen offline at no charge. The list goes on . Some of this stuff iphone just recently got.
The apps and in-app purchases can be more expensive on iOS even if they come from the same developer
what? no?
Nope, however I do agree iPhone charges to download most apps from the apple store, while in android most apps are free at play store.
@@metallion0738 some titles are more expensive on App Store because it generally costs developers more to release them there. Also both App and Play store charge devs a 30% cut although Android apps can be downloaded from outside the Play Store
@@bassline6406 . What I'm trying to say is that you can download way more apps on play store for free than in the app store regardless, and that's a fact.
Pixel 4xl user here, love call screening, google lens, the amazing camera, the google assistant, the ability to customize it, and if I choose the ability to try out dozens and dozens of other Android phones and their unique UIs
This is a great video! I'm primarily and I-Phone user, I even use Google apps on my current I-Phone: The I-phone 11, and have 0 issues. I'll probably stay on IOS, we'll see.
Side loading apps, root, custom rom, custom recovery, kernel control. Can't live without them ever since the very first time I got a taste. Even on android realm, I'm picky.
Out of curiosity, what phone do you use as a daily driver? I really like custom roms but in my experience they make you lose a lot in camera quality and are maybe a little less secure... did you find a solutions to these?
I had the iPhone 13 but switched to the Pixel 6 Pro. I'm a performer and I do a lot of auditions. I need the split screen to multi task and I don't have time to upload music to iTunes before putting it on my phone. I need the ability to play music from my phone while recording myself. And i need the ability to message people without it taking up my whole screen
