I Love The Scenes When Andy Kaufman Does The Mighty Mouse, My Most Favorite Sketch From The Show, Cause It's Funny , 😂😆 And The Actor Nicholas Braun Does A Great Impression Of It, Neither When He Play Two Legendary Actors That Were In The Show, 👍👍 May Rest In Peace For Andy Kaufman & Jim Henson, We Always Be Miss Them❤, SNL FOREVER,🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
"Do you even know what this show is" Yeah it's National Lampoon Live aka The Doug Kenny Hour aka Saturday Night Live without Howard Cosell aka Second City Live In The Big City... we have a few working titles, just know that I stole all the best comedy minds that your money could buy
I believe that conversations like this happened. I don't believe for a *hot second* that a single executive came down to get monologued at while everyone watched and then Andy Kaufmann saved the day with his Mighty Mouse bit...in front of everyone, and cheers. I guess it makes for drama and higher stakes to amalgamate stuff like this into a snappy 90 minutes but the obviousness of it makes the whole thing just seem more dishonest.
I was never really a fan of Andy Kaufmann, but a helluva lot of people were. And it looks as if some at least are giving him credit for getting the show on air.

Of course if it was today Andy would be laughing while he said "here I come to save the day" And it would have sucked. SNL is long past its expiry date
In the 90s I remember complaining about SNL, and all the two minute bits that they stretched to five minutes, the lack of bite to its political commentary. But that's it, it's not polished, some jokes completely miss... but every so often they get lightning in a bottle.
This movie was not very good. You could smile sometimes at the familiar and iconic sketches that would come later. But it was a very flat movie, and you don't feel any sympathy for the characters. The over-dramatization of Lorne Michaels as this insecure, anxious person is really out of place. A better treatment would have been the coverage of the first 3 episodes and how it all came together at the end.
Atrocious writing. They just have the characters say the plot in front of a group of people rather than have it delivered with nuance, character actions and you know, how someone would actually deliver this information.
Here I come to save the day!
1:48. Dafoe's inner goblin came out here didn't it? LoL 😜
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH I'VE SACRIFICED?!!
SNL ruled by chaos. That's the only way it thrived.
This movie was great, it was a snapshot of 90 minutes leading up to the start of the first show. it really showcased the mayhem.
It's full of made up drama in lieu of good writing.
1:55 that how Andy Kaufman save the day....SNL and he did good 🙂👍
I like the Willem Defoe character . He is very competent

The show is "Saturday Night Live" meaning it is everything and nothing at all that happens on a Saturday Night in NYC.
Hey Movieclips, any chance you guys can do a playlist of the iron claw?
Thanks for asking! It's on our to-do list! Hopefully we'll be able to post it sometime this year.
SNL has become an abaurd parody of itself

This movie is so far up its own butt
@CinnamonQuills yeah that's every movie based on real events...they are dramatized. Should be common knowledge by now, but....
"Save your voice." Funny. Only four(?) lines in a Mighty Mouse skit.
Willem Dafoe IS Jack Lord!
Cousin Greg as Andy Kaufman
"Save your voice"!
I'm not 100%, but didn't kaufmann appear later...not the first night?

Just watch Man on the Moon
Dafoe, mannnnnn. 😮
Where's The Wolverines Sketch and Chevy Say's
Live From New York It's Saturday Night
“Live From New York It’s Saturday Night Live!”
Chevy chase said there was much less drama and frantic behavior on the first episode it was practiced and prepared
Reliable source…

Good timing of them to make this movie since SNL is no longer funny.
This movie is such BS, inserting made up drama in lieu of good writing. And the Lorne Michaels character is just a pathetic MacGuffin.

SNL has fallen sooooo so far
You don't know what you're talking about.
50 years making comedy stars. LOL you really don't know your as s from a hat on this one.
So true. SNL use to be a cultural touch stone now its sitting on it laurels. Even Chevy Chase has called out new SNL

What a fresh and original take!

Hollywood bullshit. Pretty sure they all thought Andy was a weirdo. And I love Andy. I also Love Grandma.
