Thanks for the upload, Sam. The perfect car share vehicle.
Just got a Prius C now I want the Prime
thanx for the review Sam.
Well could’nt wait ordered my prime today
Excellent review.
One of the best reviews I have seen for this model. 👍
I drive a 2017 Premium. I love it.
I added a K&N air filter, use non-ethanol fuel, and use Lucas Oil Products with every synthetic 0-20 mobil1 and a toyota stock filter. When I had the Ecopia tires I got avg 72 mpg driving on eco and about 68-70 on PWR. I drove regularly and charged it at the end of everyday.
I changed tires to all-season and now only avg 55 in PWR mode 😤. The eco tires are crap in the snow. All-seasons are manageable in snow.
There have been days when I am only driving less than 25 miles a day and was able to plug it in and charge between errands. So great to not use gasoline if I want to.
Great car by Toyota 👍
Only issues: no spare tire, my stearing wheel started bubbling and peeling and my dealership doesnt want to replace the issue. 👎 They only offered to repair it which consisted of a liquid plastic that would be used to fill in the bad spots, sanded, and painted to match color. I just wanted the original feel and my dealership didnt care to go above and beyond to make me delighted to buy another car from them.
I have noticed that Toyota has really paid attention to exactness of edge-fit. Doors close nicely with ease; no need to slam it. The hatch closes exactly and easily, again, no need for roughness.
All buttons have an aesthetic appealing look and the screen is easy to use but one complaint is that its not as fast as my iPad. 👎
I use my Prime for DoorDash and it is fantastic to have the big map when I need another map other than my phone GPS. Again, I wish the screen was a little faster. I also wish the navigation was easier. Its not like its impossible, it just has to be used in a structured way that may seem cumbersome.
I am glad the new 2020 had 5 seats.
Now though, the versions with the rear middle arm-rest/compartment, are limited.
I have a 2017 Prius prime Advanced model. Silver exterior and white/back interior. It looks like a little space craft. I love the looks of it. It drives like a dream when it's on electric miles, so powerful and quite, with it's JBL music. Disappointed that Toyota changed the way it looks to be more just like another car in the parking lot. But that just makes mine more sleek and unique.
My 2020 has a grey/white interior....classy!
Nice review!! I really love the Prius Prime and I wanted one.😘😍🥰❤💖💗💕
Interesting that you said it was quiet. The recording seemed to have extra road noise compared to other videos. Haven't been in a current generation Prius let alone Prime but I thought it was interesting.
Great review, but I'd just say one thing. With the $4502 tax rebate that is currently offered on these, it actually makes the Prime cheaper than it's hybrid sibling and making the Prime universally a better deal than the regular Prius.
Should have turn signal indictirs on the mirrors.
my god Chuck Liddell reviewing eco cars.. nice!
I’m considering getting the Prius prime, I will be driving over 80 miles a day round trip for work. What y’all think? Good idea?
You should mention Federal and State rebates.
Is that general Zod from the Superman movies on your boots?
Sure
I like the understated tone of voice.
Are you sure about Android Auto compatibility? Everything else I've read says it only supports Apple CarPlay.
You are correct. No Android auto. Such a bummer... come on
@@MarcoFantin1 Bummer! Why Toyota does that? Everyone else in the industry is not Apple CarPlay + Android Auto standard
Toyota is indeed adding Android auto to many models for 2020.
@@seanshea11 That'd be great and long awaited.
I just bought the new 2020 Prime. It does NOT have android auto 😢
The Camry Hybrid LE gets 47 mpg and drives much nicer than a Prius. It's more powerful, quieter and drives more securely on the highway. The Prius is yesterday's newspapers.
Performance wise I agree with you. For some people and regions prime makes more sense, in Quebec you get 6500 dls off plus you can drive on bus and taxi lanes so for some people that's a better thing compare to the handling and power of the camry.
I get nearly 40 miles on all electric on the way to work, but the 25 miles on the way home.
The 11" screen does not have Android Auto.
Sammy seems like a nice guy, but is looking more and more like a character from a Mad Max movie!
He is a character from a Mad Max movie
Never liked the center dash.
I like the general styling of the Prius Prime. But those rims are flat out ugly. The aero rims from the Tesla Model 3 would look much better. I ended up buying a Honda Clarity PHEV. Gets about 50 miles per charge, and about 40mpg when running on gas. Unlike the Prius Prime, the Clarity gets the full $7500 Federal tax credit.
I paid $26k for mine. Seems like the MSRP is inflated a bit.
Walter White including taxes & Interest, 28k for mine, but it was a used model from the previous year, fully loaded.
$26k including everything & fully loaded & new?
@@roco9504 It's the basic 2020 model, had 13 miles on it, and after CA taxes and registration it was $28k. I made several dealers compete over prices.
2020 Prius Prime doesn't have android auto.
It does on the base LE model.
Apple car play only. I have a 2020 prime and it doesn't support my android auto =(
That's a deal breaker.
@@gaprofitt, unless you have an iPhone :)
the Ice man!!
Still the same sexy, eat-you-alive look.
whats up with yer cabbage?
I love my Prius, but when is Toyota going to get with it and build a total EV? It is great hearing that this car gets better gas mileage than the former Prius.
This car has about the most hideous looking front end I’ve ever seen on a car. Why the gaping maw look on Toyotas these days? Yuck.
I would NOT buy a car with this look
That being said, I’ll proudly drive my old Prius until I can afford an EV.
Shouldn't one get TESLA Model 3 for the same price? $36,000!
for this price, get a TESLA :)
Scuba Tuga a tesla with short range? People drive this car 3 weeks without refilling gas, what else do you want?
@@GuuiYae i want something with better design, wayyyy faster, with the SAFEST ranking in the market, without any combustion engine, without oil and dealer desonest maintenance charges, a car that can be charge almost for free from my solar panels.
@@arqcm I can understand how you feel about gas engine car, but with this price, you can only get standard Range RWD tesla which is not worth it. You want a fast one, you need to add another 7k plus if you want full auto pilot, that's gonna be another 7k. People don't really care about fast car anymore. What is the point of having super fast car when you can't drive over 60mph anyway, unless you wanna take risk of getting ticket.
@@GuuiYae keep the bicycle!
Yeap, I opted for a fully loaded Prius. When the last year model was being clearanced you could save a few thousand (I think it was $4k at the time when I got mine)
Then federal tax for it is $4500
My local state offers $1100 rebate.
So nearly $10k off fully loaded.
I decided to get a used one though and saved about $11k upfront instead.
So, even if it was new, and taking account model 3 incentives, still, over $10,000 less vs the base m3.
Thus, went with the Prius.
But, 90% sure model 3 will be my next car though. 100% would want a Tesla next.
I hate the shape of the Toyota prius
The Prime is a joke, it should have been a 300 mile epa range ev when it was introduced in 2017....
