D‘angelo is hands down one of the most important live acts today but his inactivity lets him fly under the radar look at the crowd like prince he unites ,the man was and is a legend
The problem is that when he gets on the radar. Fans, me included feel happy and know you want to act a fool at the next concert. He is so cool tough, I never will and ooh my ears arent but me I am way to old.

You are 1000% correct. He is vastly underrated. It had alot to do with how he was presented in the beginning of his career. As sex symbol for women to drool over instead of a gifted multi - instrumental artist.
Dear Brother D’Angelo, will you please comeback out and do at least another music tour in my lifetime? Even if you don’t come anywhere near my present city of Memphis, I will do what I gotta do to see a rare performance like this. My soul and spirit needs that funk, r&b, Jazz, gospel, and more funk in the way you and your peeps presents it. ☝🏾✊🏾👍🏾
Even to this day in 2023, still the greatest show I’ve ever been to. It was church. Pino palladino is one of the few people to inspire me to start to play bass.

This was the best show that I have ever seen. I was right by the soundboard. Tightest band ever. He showed up two hours late but so worth the wait.
I showed up to this show right when they began, having no idea who they were. Mind was blown.
Have fun with the crowd n mingle with each other, treat the 1st 2 hrs as a warm up to the concert. Have fun, be joyful n happy. Flower 🌸 power peace ✌ n love.

Oh man what a band? Just to see Chris Dave and Pino Palladino play this stuff ... what would I give to have been there.
He’s so underrated … you can see and feel how Prince heavily influenced him … when he paid homage to him and sang “Sometimes it snows in April” after his passing …I sobbed through out the entire song… he sang it with so much emotion… you can feel his heart was broken along with all of us Prince fans 🥺😔

There's a tribute to Fred Wesley & The Horny Horns (An off shoot group of the P Funk Mob). The song is Fourplay. He mixed the groove with Brown Sugar. Also, the bridge has the Parliament song Sir Nose D'void of Funk turnaround in it too.
Do you knew where he got the Vanguard Theme from? My theory is he took After You Done It by James Brown and changed it slightly to make the Vanguard Theme. Am I right, am I wrong, or do you just not know either?

@@gautamdevgun333 The Vanguard Theme is the funky jam he plays after Ain't That Easy (there's better audio of it in D's North Sea Jazz show from 2015 (just so you know what I'm talking about)). After You Done It is off of James Brown's Ain't It Funky Now album.
