I am currently re watching all the seasons, I am almost finished with season 2....I am TOTALLY seeing SO many connections between story lines and character arcs. A LOT of the characters lines just in season 1 and 2 relate...I cannnnnot wait for season 6!

My theory is that the seasons really do show the American horrors, Infidelity ( Murder House ) / Insanity (Asylum ) / Oppression ( Coven ) / Discrimination ( Freak Show ) / Addiction ( Hotel )
Oscar Perez see that was how I always viewed the show. Each season represents all the different horror tales that have taken place through out America. Haunted houses, horrific conditions of asylums back in the day, circus’ back in the day were always trying to top one another with oddities & freaks, our history witch witchcraft, the famous murder hotel/castle in Chicago, our obsession with the end of days, the political aspects, Roanoke, etc... they’re all based off of events thru history...our dark tales so to speak.
Maybe we will learn what the aliens are doing in season 2 and not just a random subplot. It is maybe a shoutout to season 6. Maybe it meant something...or maybe not.

Pepper was suddenly able to speak very well after she saw them, Grace came back from the dead and her pregnancy went well. Serena Webb Not really an alternate dimension. The characters are continuing their stories but moving to a new place. In S2, they end up working in a hospital where we can expect odd cases and of course a murder.
At the episode "The Ten Commandments Killer" I literally hated every single character in season 5, except for John Lowe. When I find out he was the killer I hated him the most. It was hard to watch after that cause I literally hated every single person and was disgusted by them, but I still finished lol.
Update to this video: Billie Dean Howard also appeared in AHS Hotel. I didn't watch season one, so I wondered why the creators had Sarah Paulson play Billie Dean Howard when she was already playing Sally, as the two characters are not supposed to be related but they look alike. Now I know why.

I think hotel was so good. I haven't been able to get through freak show because it doesn't hold my attention. Also, I love Jessica and I wish she didn't have to go but gaga nailed it. I thought she nailed her character in season 5. Season five is my second fav.

I forget the name but there was this orphanage that to the public appeared to be the best place for homeless children but in reality the owner treated the children awful and I'm not talking the usual abuse, it was like torture. Then there was the fact that the owner basically ran a child trafficking ring by swindling teenage girls that gave birth, women that bore out of wedlock and poor parents into giving their children up to her where she'd quickly have them adopted by rich families who would be lied to about how the baby/child was orphaned. And to add on to that instead of using all that money to better the orphanage (which on the inside was not in the best condition) she'd spend it all on herself. Eventually it got out what was really going on there and she was arrested while the orphanage continued by someone but the damage had been done and not long after it shut down and if I remember right it eventually got demolished. If not then it's still sitting there rotting away. Sadly she had also destroyed many of the records for the illegal adoptions or they ended up destroyed in a mysterious fire so many of the families that fell for her scheme were never reunited.
Queenie's death in Hotel pissed me off beyond measure. Why bring in a character of her caliber just to kill her off? Also, I found it completely unrealistic that her Coven sisters didn't show up and exact revenge - no way in hell the Supreme Cordelia is going to let one of her right hand witches disappear like that - the coven would have known she planned to stay at the Cortez.
Exactly, just leave her in coven instead. Ramona didn't even kill the countess with Queenie's blood. It was useless. When I saw that she was coming back in that episode I was so excited, but then Mr. March appeared and fucked it up. Like in the previous three seasons they should've do 13 episodes, in the twelfth one: Coven's revenge. I can't accept her death, but probably we'll never see the hotel cortez again.. so there's no way to bring her back to life 💔
Phil S. Almost all the "Seasons are linked" clues only started being put together when Pepper was announced in season 4. Notice that no other season had an old character returnning, he laid it on thick with that and then laid it on even thicker this season by just flat out saying Gaga was in the murder house and bringing Marcie back. It seems like he reverse engineered this to have specific characters he liked return. If he didn't, then I'd love to see some proof instead of fan-theories

I remember an interview with the AHS-actors about noticing this and talking about it! That is one obvious clue just think about it, why else did Ryan choose to give her THAT last name. They weren't related, they dated for one season, then they were gone. Most wouldn't make things up, but Ryan I totally believe that he would because he has always had a bit of a problem with cohesive narratives.

Here's another reason why the first season is connected to Dante's Inferno: Unborn babies are said to go to limbo as well, and that would explain why a huge theme of babies was in season 1 as well as the opening theme. Also, one of the levels of hell is "heresy" and I think that'll be the season we see Tate's evil son from season 1. I wonder if Jessica Lange would come back to play Constance again....

To further the Dante's Inferno theory: Lance Reddick portrayed Papa Legba in AHS Coven. Papa Legba is supposedly the god of travel and gatekeeper to the underworld. One could associate this character with Charon the Ferryman, who carried Dante across the River Styx. *related trivia* Reddick also played a character named Charon in the movie John Wick...
+woweedatsisbrutals Yeah, except the way Papa Legba is portrayed in Coven seems inaccurate - or jumbled. His aesthetic is much more reminiscent of Baron Samdi. Especially since Baron Samdi is the head of the Ghuede - the loa of Death (and fertility). Traditionally, Legba was sort of a mediator between the living and the spirit world, so I can understand why they'd use him for the 'journey to the underworld' part - but not for the soul bargaining. Also, Legba usually looked like weak old man, not a suit-wearing and skull-decorated fop with a love of drugs (again, that was Samdi). It's almost like the took Samdi and just gave him Legba's name.

The first theory of American Horror Story's seasons being a nod to Inferno, the first book of the Divine Comedy about Dante's journey through Hell and its circles of sin before he makes it to Purgatory and then to Heaven, is both interesting and fascinating. The only thing I can point out as not true is when Hotel is discussed, and that is saying that blood is one of the addictions. Saying vampires are addicted to blood is like saying humans are addicted to food and water. It's what they must consume to survive. Not the same as an addiction.
My theory: There will be 8 seasons and each season up to 7 will represent one of the seven deadly sins and season 8 will be all of them combined: Murder House- Lust Asylum- Anger/Violence Coven- Envy Freak Show- Greed Hotel- Gluttony Summer Camp/Forest/IDK- Sloth or Pride Season 7- Sloth or Pride Season 8- All sins combined
Another thing I've recently realized is that in Asylum Jessica Lange's character undergoes a different alias when she is stripped from her real name: Judy Martin. She is then given the name Betty Drake, and if you're currently watching Hotel you would know that the fashion designer played by Cheyenne Jackson is named Will Drake. Now I don't know how that would be connected but I feel like there has to be reason behind it.
Now that I think about it, Francis' characters have ended up getting murdered, Moira got shot, Myrtle got burned alive and Gloria got murdered by Dandy, and then in Asylum her character is the Angel of Death. This just sorta popped into my head so it's a mess of a theory but I think if you look into it properly, there could be a connection. As for Denis' characters, I'm not quite sure, what comes into mind is how Larry and Spalding are both immensely in love with Jessica Lange's character, Liz and Stanley, hmm, well Liz is a cross dresser and Stanley is gay, things they didn't have an easy time being comfortable with being open about but... Ahh screw it, I have no idea where I'm going with this yet, maybe with some proper thinking I can figure it out 😂

I think that American Horror Story Hotel needed werewolves in it. Maybe next time. l=D Is it just me, or has American Horror Story been getting less and less good? =/ I mean I'm not saying it's bad or anything, but I find myself being less and less interested. It's not the content so much as it is the angle they decide to take it and how they represent it. I especially didn't like the angle of Freak Show. I thought there would be better freaks and it would be more, well, freaky. l=l Like look at the beginning when they play the opening music for Freak Show or pretty much any of the seasons. The seasons should be more like their opening theme images. Now that would be awesome. =D
I thought Asylum was the best season. Murder House is a close second. Coven was alright. I didn't even get past the first episode of Freak Show and Hotel. I waited for Freak Show to come on Netflix to watch the rest. I don't know if I even want to watch the rest of Hotel. I thought it was just horrible.

After re watching, almost, all seasons again (I'm in the middle of the 5th) I think the first theory could be the more presumably with a little bit of the second. In season 1-3 Jessica Lange had very bittersweet endings but in her final season (4) she finally ended doing what she love with the people she loved the most (Heaven?) so maybe all the main characters will have to travel to different worlds till they are released...
SN: I was really sad when Jessica L said she was done with AHS but I really love this serie ♡ and even thought I liked some seasons more than others I hope they keep doing this for another 6 or more. This kind of series, with different plots, are great for young actors! Evan Peters have grown so much (sharing stage with Jessica L and Cathy Bates must be amazing!!) so I will keep watching it 💀

Freak show was my favorite after getting into more because of the characters , they were so bizarre but at the same time they seemed like family to me , they were all so unique in looks and in depth , you really feel a bond and connection , and at the same time it's like an addiction or guilty pleasure .
That happened to me once when I was watching VEEP so I rewinded it and Siri did it again. Was a line about planes being shot down I think, so maybe Siri listens for threatening words.
I think some of the clues to this connective seasons theory can be found in the opening credits to every season. I always seem to see someone or thing that never takes place in the actual season. Are they metaphors, style or do they mean something else?

Jessica Lange is an incredible actress. By far my favorite characters throughout most seasons, and often the most emotionally complex. I'm not an acting expert, or even a casual enthusiast, but she really brings out the best in that show. This video showed a brief scene where she betrayed the bearded lady in Freak Show, and the way she calmly handles distress with a strange sort of class is what I think is so intriguing about her characters. Much like Claire Underwood in House of Cards, she just has this finesse about her that gives her character 'swag'. And moreover, the relatively subtle emotional complexities of an aging woman appears in both of their characters, seeming to build up and eventually boil over. I'm sure I'd appreciate that even more if I were a middle aged woman, feeling some sort of semblance to the character, or at least to their situation.
All of Sarah Paulson’s characters go through alot of crazy shit. Billie Dean Howard almost died in the Hotel Cortez, Lana Winters got mistakenly sent into an insane Asylum. Cordelia was blinded twice. Bette and Dot are stuck together and I forget who it is but one of them really hate the other. Sally was killed and trapped in the Hotel Cortez. Audrey Tindall had to go through a traumatic experience with a psycho cast, her husband, Rory, dying and seeing his dead body. Ally had a psycho wife that terrorized her. Another thing is alot of them get a successful ending. Billie made it out with info about the deaths of John Lowe and others. Lana became a very successful author. Cordelia became the Supreme. Bette and Dot live with Jimmy and became godmothers. Sally got to enjoy afterlife with all her dead friends. Audrey.... she got nothing but death. And Ally became the Senate for the U.S
I don't get why people hate hotel so much, I really liked it it reminded me a lot of murder house, perhaps the thing they could've left out would be the vampires, but besides that I think it was a solid season, freakshow in my opinion was the weaker season, followed by coven, don't get me wrong they weren't bad, but coven just didn't feel like ahs in my opinion. my lit goes: 5- Freakshow 4-Coven 3-Hotel 2-Asylum 1- Murder house

Rewatched all the seasons 3 times because I had no life but I don't regret watching them again.
I just started a rewatch Marathon again. I just finished season one again and it's so awesome! hope i can watch the rest in a week or less lol

I forget the name but there was this orphanage that to the public appeared to be the best place for homeless children but in reality the owner treated the children awful and I'm not talking the usual abuse, it was like torture. Then there was the fact that the owner basically ran a child trafficking ring by swindling teenage girls that gave birth, women that bore out of wedlock and poor parents into giving their children up to her where she'd quickly have them adopted by rich families who would be lied to about how the baby/child was orphaned. And to add on to that instead of using all that money to better the orphanage (which on the inside was not in the best condition) she'd spend it all on herself. Eventually it got out what was really going on there and she was arrested while the orphanage continued by someone but the damage had been done and not long after it shut down and if I remember right it eventually got demolished. If not then it's still sitting there rotting away. Sadly she had also destroyed many of the records for the illegal adoptions or they ended up destroyed in a mysterious fire so many of the families that fell for her scheme were never reunited.

Queenie's death in Hotel pissed me off beyond measure. Why bring in a character of her caliber just to kill her off? Also, I found it completely unrealistic that her Coven sisters didn't show up and exact revenge - no way in hell the Supreme Cordelia is going to let one of her right hand witches disappear like that - the coven would have known she planned to stay at the Cortez.
Exactly, just leave her in coven instead. Ramona didn't even kill the countess with Queenie's blood. It was useless. When I saw that she was coming back in that episode I was so excited, but then Mr. March appeared and fucked it up. Like in the previous three seasons they should've do 13 episodes, in the twelfth one: Coven's revenge. I can't accept her death, but probably we'll never see the hotel cortez again.. so there's no way to bring her back to life 💔

Phil S. Almost all the "Seasons are linked" clues only started being put together when Pepper was announced in season 4. Notice that no other season had an old character returnning, he laid it on thick with that and then laid it on even thicker this season by just flat out saying Gaga was in the murder house and bringing Marcie back. It seems like he reverse engineered this to have specific characters he liked return. If he didn't, then I'd love to see some proof instead of fan-theories

Here's another reason why the first season is connected to Dante's Inferno: Unborn babies are said to go to limbo as well, and that would explain why a huge theme of babies was in season 1 as well as the opening theme. Especially since Baron Samdi is the head of the Ghuede - the loa of Death (and fertility). Traditionally, Legba was sort of a mediator between the living and the spirit world, so I can understand why they'd use him for the 'journey to the underworld' part - but not for the soul bargaining.
Also, Legba usually looked like weak old man, not a suit-wearing and skull-decorated fop with a love of drugs (again, that was Samdi).
It's almost like the took Samdi and just gave him Legba's name.

The first theory of American Horror Story's seasons being a nod to Inferno, the first book of the Divine Comedy about Dante's journey through Hell and its circles of sin before he makes it to Purgatory and then to Heaven, is both interesting and fascinating. The only thing I can point out as not true is when Hotel is discussed, and that is saying that blood is one of the addictions. Saying vampires are addicted to blood is like saying humans are addicted to food and water. It's what they must consume to survive. Not the same as an addiction.
My theory: There will be 8 seasons and each season up to 7 will represent one of the seven deadly sins and season 8 will be all of them combined:
Murder House- Lust
Asylum- Anger/Violence
Coven- Envy
Freak Show- Greed
Hotel- Gluttony
Summer Camp/Forest/IDK- Sloth or Pride
Season 7- Sloth or Pride
Season 8- All sins combined
Maybe next place is school or collage for pride

Now that I think about it, Francis' characters have ended up getting murdered, Moira got shot, Myrtle got burned alive and Gloria got murdered by Dandy, and then in Asylum her character is the Angel of Death. This just sorta popped into my head so it's a mess of a theory but I think if you look into it properly, there could be a connection. As for Denis' characters, I'm not quite sure, what comes into mind is how Larry and Spalding are both immensely in love with Jessica Lange's character, Liz and Stanley, hmm, well Liz is a cross dresser and Stanley is gay, things they didn't have an easy time being comfortable with being open about but... In season 1-3 Jessica Lange had very bittersweet endings but in her final season (4) she finally ended doing what she love with the people she loved the most (Heaven?) so maybe all the main characters will have to travel to different worlds till they are released...
SN: I was really sad when Jessica L said she was done with AHS but I really love this serie ♡ and even thought I liked some seasons more than others I hope they keep doing this for another 6 or more. When I realized in Freak Show that they told Pepper's story and saw how it connected to Asylum my mind was blown.
Freak show was my favorite after getting into more because of the characters , they were so bizarre but at the same time they seemed like family to me , they were all so unique in looks and in depth , you really feel a bond and connection , and at the same time it's like an addiction or guilty pleasure .

Sally brought about the addiction demon because of her drug addiction, however James March uses the addiction demon to control Sally by making her obey him or he will sic the demon on her as seen in the last episode of the season for a short second.

I wouldn't know anything about American horror story besides general, gimmicky knowledge but I just really like the way you structured this and how you talk
Jessica Lange is an incredible actress. By far my favorite characters throughout most seasons, and often the most emotionally complex. I'm not an acting expert, or even a casual enthusiast, but she really brings out the best in that show. This video showed a brief scene where she betrayed the bearded lady in Freak Show, and the way she calmly handles distress with a strange sort of class is what I think is so intriguing about her characters. Much like Claire Underwood in House of Cards, she just has this finesse about her that gives her character 'swag'. And moreover, the relatively subtle emotional complexities of an aging woman appears in both of their characters, seeming to build up and eventually boil over. I'm sure I'd appreciate that even more if I were a middle aged woman, feeling some sort of semblance to the character, or at least to their situation.

All of Sarah Paulson’s characters go through alot of crazy shit. Billie Dean Howard almost died in the Hotel Cortez, Lana Winters got mistakenly sent into an insane Asylum. Cordelia was blinded twice. Bette and Dot are stuck together and I forget who it is but one of them really hate the other. Sally was killed and trapped in the Hotel Cortez. Audrey Tindall had to go through a traumatic experience with a psycho cast, her husband, Rory, dying and seeing his dead body. Ally had a psycho wife that terrorized her.
Another thing is alot of them get a successful ending. Billie made it out with info about the deaths of John Lowe and others. Lana became a very successful author. Cordelia became the Supreme. Bette and Dot live with Jimmy and became godmothers. Sally got to enjoy afterlife with all her dead friends. Audrey.... she got nothing but death. And Ally became the Senate for the U.S

I don't get why people hate hotel so much, I really liked it it reminded me a lot of murder house, perhaps the thing they could've left out would be the vampires, but besides that I think it was a solid season, freakshow in my opinion was the weaker season, followed by coven, don't get me wrong they weren't bad, but coven just didn't feel like ahs in my opinion.
