  • Golf courses and some homeowners use a product that most people don't know exists. The product is referred to as a growth regulator. You may hear the acronym PGR used as well. I am using the product Podium in this video. Here is an affiliate link to the same active ingredient by another name on amazon. amzn.to/3wF8Dtj . These products are great at helping a lawn remain green and even improving the turf health while slowing down the vertical growth which reduces the need for mowing as often. It is great. Enjoy the video and the information shared. I am using a 2023 Z Spray Mid in the video that was provided by Z Turf Equipment. #sponsored #zturfequipment

Thanks Jason. I use either T Nex (trinexipac ethyl) or Aneuw as a PGR. I reel mow at 0.75 inches. It extended my mowing from every 2 to 3 days to like 5 days. I also add either urea or ammonium sulfate and a surfactant. Keep up the great content.

Thank you. I just sprayed my yard. I'm hoping I can mow every 7 or 8 days through the summer

Hey Jason, any tricks to quickly fill up the water tank on your truck? I have a 300 gallon tank and it takes 40 minutes with the hose? Any ways to make this go faster?? Thx.

Ammonium Nitrate-40% bought in granular 40lb bags. Use broadcast spreader. Water at least 1-2 inches a week if it’s hot/dry.

I just sprayed T-Nex at .38 per K, 3 days ago on my Tif 419. It was the first time and so far, no discoloration. I applied FeATURE @ 2 oz. per K with it using a surfactant. I can already tell it has slowed down since I was mowing every 3-4 days. So far, so good.

3 ounces per acre of glyphosate, you won't have to mow for 3 weeks.

It’s funny, I just found out some departments of transportation use PGR on highways and what not. Makes sense, a lot less mowing for them.
I’ve thought about it for lawn care companies though, frequently if they’re stingy and only want it cut every 1-2 weeks why not use PGR to prevent it from being extremely tall the next time you come out? Lawn should look a lot better and a happier customer. My thoughts are that most lawn care companies don’t offer spraying services or that the customer could care less how good it looks if they only want it cut every 1-2 weeks.
I guess the main issue is tracking gdd days especially in the summer and accidentally entering a rebound period. When it’s hot enough I have to apply PGR every 12-14 days.
