If you just do regular LTL with the 40ft trailer just get a diesel, if your a real hotshot that does the need to be donne load and needs some getup and go trucks with a 16-20ft trailer, get whatever is easier to work on out in the field which would be a gas truck.

my 2023 chevy 3500 cab n chassis with 6.6 gas gets 14-17 mpg on the highway empty, pulling my tri axle trailer with my skidsteer on it gets 8mpg , trailer weighs 6000 skidsteer weighs 8200 for a total of 14200lbs

I hate tarping as much as you ! But, carry some extra 2" ratchet straps and do the front, back, over the top, even round the cargo itself it needed. It has really cut down any air getting underneath the tarp job and reduced flapping a lot !

I recently bought a brand new 35+5 Big Tex with mega ramps. Before I purchased the trailer on the listing it stated that the trailer weighed dry weight 6730 I confirm that with the dealership salesman after purchasing the trailer it states on the title that the dry weight is 7630 lbs instead of 6730 like it originally stated. So now that means since I'm non-cdl I lose a thousand pounds that I can haul. I called the manufacturer the dealer called the manufacturer also. No one I repeat no one wants to take responsibility for their error. They admitted it was an error on their part but the manufacturer refuses to do anything about it. Would like to know if there's anyone else out there who went through a similar situation is this

Are the valve stems in your truck wheels bolt in or pull in? You have to be careful with the bolt ins as is they are too tight the seal will be comprimised. I wouldn't rely on even high pressure pull inns
