NASCAR Needs To Look In The Mirror.....
Despite a few highs, the 2024 NASCAR season left a bad taste in a lot of fans mouths and after so many negatives from last year I think its time for nascar to truly evaluate where their at as a sport. In this video I do vent but I also offered realistic ideas on how to get NASCAR turned around for the better

NASCAR Stars That Were Never Cover Athletes
Просмотров 8 тыс.4 месяца назад
The cover athlete of a sports title has become a pretty big deal to a lot of people. We seen big name drivers like Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Tony Stewart grace the front cover of many NASCAR games. But it's some other high profile drivers in NASCAR that have never been on the front cover of a nascar game and in this video I list off those drivers that are front cover worthy Video Foot...
Shareable SMT Data in NASCAR SUCKS

SMT data in NASCAR has become well known to the public in recent years and it's something that's gonna continue to be expanded on for years to come. The issue I have with SMT data is that it can viewed by anyone. I see that as a big negative and in this video I explain why Video Footage Credit: NASCAR Slinkerdeer Lazzercise Brock Beard NASCAR Archives Jacobred00 Jeff Gordon Edits NASCAR on FOX ...

NASCAR Console Gaming is on Life Support
Update: DVP got a MASSIVE Overhaul. Teams can now make repairs to the damaged cars in the garage if the 7-minute clock on pit road expires. Plus, if your car can't get going, or is beached and gets towed, they'll be towed to pit lane to be fixed.
My suggestion. If the fanbase, and commenters ignored the "post-season" Chase, it'll soon go away. If everyone watching celebrates rge regular season champion, then ignores the entire Chase, no comments, no views, nothing, NASCAR will get the message. If 90% of the viewers disappear between the end of the regular season, and the start of the playoffs, the sponsors will lose their sh!t - and when the sponsors lose it, NASCAR HAS TO LISTEN. And if NASCAR asks why commenters are suddenly ignoring the Chase? Just answer "Chase? What's that? Championship's over."...
A good majority not all but a good majority are either boomers who claim they quit watching 20 years ago or more or people who started watching in the last few years that complain about races way way way to much
9:03 - Brian Vickers Martinsville 2011 - Jeff Gordon Sonoma 2010
Not to tell you that he was coming off his championship season. Now people that was tuning into NASCAR for the first time must have been saying “that’s how a NASCAR champion is driving?”
At some point someone’s gonna try to pull a Luigi Mangione on NASCAR’s executives. I’m genuinely gonna lose it this goes on for any longer.
NASCAR has no leadership. They thrived under the benevolent dictatorship of Bill France (and later Bill Jr) because both of them led with a vision. NASCAR's current vision is doing whatever they think will bring in more money, which means pleasing network executives, CEOs, and the coveted casual viewer. Idiocracy has infected NASCAR.
You was very close with your prediction. The clash is coming to Bowman Gray in 2025.
I remember in the year like 2000 when the ARCA Daytona race happened right after the Daytona 500 Qualifying. I wish we can get back to that.
Granted I am writing this at 1:10 but scrap it keep the tracks and just do stock cars period and do a cause of death investagation. Bring back safety measures when we all agree on what killed NASCAR
Pretty good stuff. I’m so glad I left that piece of garbage sport in 2004.
Well hopefully you're having fun watching Indy car and dirt racing and if you want to come back to watching NASCAR again try the NASCAR Xfinity series 😊
The peak of ratings was 7.5 in 2004, ratings tanked for 15 consecutive years, stayed around 2.8-3.0 for 5 years, then they went up by .2 in 2024 when we had 4 photo finished/larson doing the double/trump coming to a event during his election cycle. The post season is objectively a failure and not worth keeping. Any attempt at a post season is a waste of time in my opinion. I get why people try to compromise with nascar on it(they won't change it likely) but we might as well just say point blank what we want if we know nascar has become asscar by shoving their heads up their asses and ignoring criticism.
Ever notice how there's a hundred videos like this every year, and there's about one video every three years defending current Nascar. You think that would mean something.
Sadly it doesn't matter
@@KidLatin27 yep
@@aviserig yeah it's like if NASCAR doesn't care about what the fans and drivers want to make this sport more fun and enjoyable and plus people are considering not watching anyone because of what happened at Martinsville and the state of the sport stuff and Joey logano winning the championship where in Winston cup points he should be 14th in points and I'm pretty sure those three things are the reason why some people would rather watch Indycar dirt racing and F1 instead of NASCAR now and I really don't blame them even I almost thought about quitting after the 2014 season because I was a huge Jeff Gordon fan growing up and I'm still going to watch in 2025 though 😊
NASCAR Thunder 2003 and 2004 are what I am sticking with. They probably discontinued all that stuff from the previous games to make room for the Busch Series, Concept Cars, Trucks and Modifieds. It just seemed like it was just racing, not immersion or anything like that.
Also agree that stage racing is fine, but don't stop everything just for the stage transition. MAYBE do that at short tracks, like anything shorter than Richmond (BUT PLEASE, DON'T DO STAGES AT RICHMOND!), but all this stop start shit is dumb, and it's gotta go.
Also, so much agreement on overtime. Give them one try at a green white checker. For the record, I also think overtime shouldn't apply to superspeedways, because the cars take two laps to get up to speed, anyway, on top of the fact GWC causes "the big one" more often than anything else these days. Atlanta, Daytona, and Talladega should be exempt from overtime. Everywhere else, one chance re-rack mulligan, and if there's anything else, oh well, so sad, the drivers who didn't win and the fans who got big mad can go cry to mommy.
I think the option tire like in Indy Car is an amazing idea for NASCAR. I also think that introducing a semi-slick similar to the Nitto NT-01, especially for anything under 1.5 miles and road courses, or maybe a half slick design, where the inner half of the tire is treaded and/or grooved, but then outer half, and the edges on both sides, are full on slick. These types of tires are common in autocross and GT racing. Making the option tire a softer true slick, and the "normal" tire a semi or half tread at road courses, would likely do a lot for improving grip at the beginning of the run, and then having more fall off as a run progresses. I actually really like your idea to include stage racing and bonus points in the '04 version of the chase. It's one of the best ideas I've seen. It's similar to an idea I had to improve the current state of thing, but you took it a step further, and IMO it's better than anything I could have thought up. Keeping the points going, and just having the "bonus points" kick in, but only for the chase drivers with ten races to go, so that people can box out or sneak into contention - fucking GENIUS, my dude. First video of yours I've watched, and you got yourself a subscriber. Really good points, well thought out arguments, even in the rant part at the beginning. Brilliant video; props.
Now I'm officially lost interest NASCAR. Until they will get rid of this whole Chase format and stop trying to compete against NFL.
I love your outlook lol it’s to the point blunt and exactly what nascar needs to hear My dad used to say all the time there’s two major organizations in the world that will never admit they fucked up and that’s the government and nascar
14:41 Corey Lajoie 2024 season was horrible as massive failure. He wrecks himself and everybody, the rookies finishes ahead of Lajoie, he becomes the public enemy no. 1 on social media and Spire Motorsports fired him in the middle of the season under a driver swap. At least Spire Motorsports found speed and the team is expected to improve in 2025 now with Justin Haley and Michael McDowell
I couldn’t have said it better. As a fan since 1982, this isn’t the sport I fell in love with as a 6 year old. NASCAR has a major problem and saying everything is great is a lie. I think a major problem is the networks are calling a lot of the shots because they’re footing the bill.
The only way Denny Hamlin can win a championship if you turn on a NASCAR game lol😂😂😂😂😂😂
First person I’ve seen with the exact same idea for a new format. Perfect middle ground. Spot on for SS and RC races throwing out stage yellows too. Great video.
NASCAR as a business is doing just fine. NASCAR, as a product, is questionable at best. NASCAR as a sport is laughable full stop. And NASCAR only cares about that first point. They are making money hand over fist between TV, streaming, and track deals. NASCAR does not care that we the fans, the drivers, and the teams are fed up. We keep talking about it. That engagement is revenue for them. It doesn't matter if its good or bad. The only way NASCAR has a chance at changing anything is the fanbase growing apathetic. Never mention them, never interact with their media, nothing. Apathy, not averice. Thats the only way to get the message across.
I agree with a lot that you said bro
The problem is the people who run NASCAR aren’t race fans. It was fine when it was Big Bill and Bill Jr, but these idiots aren’t racers. They basically tell you that by changing all the rules to make the races “exciting.” Because they don’t think racing is exciting. They don’t understand how a full season format or a fuel mileage race could be something that someone wants to watch, which is ironic because sure when we had those things many, many, many more people watched.
“Thriller after thriller” is a crazy way to describe aero blocking at phoenix. Love my man Leigh but come on brotha
If you were running NASCAR I would watch it again every week. Instead the few I watched this past year I always found myself trying not to fall asleep.
bro almost all the suggestions you made I've said the same thing on social media and I agree with you I'm not near quitting but last season soured things for me so badly I can't look at it the same way again as well as indycar
Valid. Clear & concise.
I haven't watched a single lap of WOKECAR since a domestic terrorist organization appeared as a sponsor on June 7th, 2020. This is NOT the sport I watched and supported since childhood... 48 years... I'm done. Support grassroots racing, not this narrative driven dog and pony show.
