I know some people probably think I'm reaching in this video and probably think I'm disrespecting all spotters but that's not the case. I just wanna clarify that I'm calling out one spotter that (in my opinion) came off really annoying. And I think I'm not alone on disliking Clayton Hughes. I remember during that 2015-2020 time period you couldn't go on nascar Twitter or reddit without seeing the amount of dislike the guy got which was deserved btw. People also hated the "stage winner MTJ" saying as well. It use to drive people insane. That personally didn't bother me I just think Clayton Hughes is a drama queen and these few moments I talked about in this video proves that.
I also really didn't like the whole "stage winner MTJ" bit, but now that he's paired up with Michael McDowell it's kind of funny. Southern farm boy cussing up a storm while Christian man from Arizona calls people wankers 😂
CLEAR CLEAR CLEAR CLEAR CLEAR CLEAR CLEAR (Meanwhile the whole field is in a traffic jam and still crashing cuz the caution flag hasn't been flown yet)
As a Truex Jr. fan, I absolutely agree with the criticism with Clayton Hughes, especially with the Roval incedent. I never was the best fan of him compared to his crew chief Cole Pearn who actually worked with Martin really well.
Nah the most annoying spotter in NASCAR history is the spotter on NASCAR 21 Ignition haha. Especially when he rapped. I haven't played the game but I've seen videos of it.
Spotters can make or break a driver's career. Being a spotter is part spotting, and part psychologist. You have to know who your driver is, their personalities, and what they respond the best to in terms of information. Truex doesn't need someone to tell them how to drive, and he certainly doesn't need anyone to push him to do something negative. Other drivers need a little bit more in terms of motivation, while others respond better to minimal input from a spotter.
Jake Crum was spotting for his wife Annabeth Barnes Crum at a late model race at Hickory Motor Speedway Landon Huffman was racing with Annabeth for third and gave her a nudge and pushed her up the track, to her then ending up self-spinning trying to retaliate. Under yellow, ABC decides to absolutely full force RAM into the door and destroy Landon’s car as well as her own, and we are talking like a massive intentional attack; maybe 30 MPH under yellow, and she barrels in and uses her car as a weapon at about 60-80. All the while, Jake Crum runs over and proceeds to tackle and start kicking Landon’s spotter and father; Robert Huffman, up on the spotter’s stand, resulting in some rough injuries Crum got charged with assault and lost his NASCAR Competition license for the rest of 2023. Here’s Landon’s Vlog covering the event ruclips.net/video/6THcm0HsvqM/видео.htmlsi=CaKUzQyD8JkrG7Hr
I drove Trucks in late 90s & early 2000s. U would know who i am if i tell you my name. I'm not. Just wanted to say, yes, spotters can be quite dramatic. However, that is a tiny % of them. I was blessed to have a spotter who should one day be in HOF.
yes, clayton hughes was very annoying but not really in the way you represented it. There’s a lot of spotters that say "you better wreck him" or whatnot but truex running into guys on cooldown laps is all on the driver. Most drivers don’t listen to their spotters when they feel wronged. look at kyle busch.
Good god Clayton easily is the most annoying for sure another reason i couldnt stand truex and his team at all. Tab Boyd is another one i genuinely can not stand especially when he was with logano, always egging Joey on to do something or making small irritating comments. Just annoying. Tbh it annoys me when the crew member's or especially the crew chief or spotter start egging their driver's on to say or do something, I get its your team and yes show emotions and stand up for your team yes, but let the driver take care of his or herself please, they don't need all that extra chatter in thier ear on how to handle a situation especially a confrontation, ik as a driver that would annoy the crap outta me and I'd tell them alright shut up and leave me alone after awhile lol.
Ig its just me but i dont see a issue with any of these… im a racer and its up to me what the car does but still (i like martin). Radioactive also puts radio messages not in the right spots and take it from other parts of the race like at the roval. Martinsville he was already sideways and pretty much wreaking when clayton said that. But idk just my look on things
@@KR_Diecasts i remember the one sonoma race when he was with montoya and brad k got loose and accidentally spun him out and Tab immediately started going on a rant saying that brad did it on purpose. also side note, his reaction at the end of the 2023 daytona 500 is absolutely hilarious in hindsight
You always seem to find juicy or thought provoking topics to discuss or things that people may have never thought of before. I find these topics and videos interesting/engaging, and it makes you stand out amongst other nascar youtubers with similar styles
Wow I really appreciate that comment man. I honestly wonder sometimes why people watch my videos because I don't feel like my quality matches up to someone like elly productions or S1apSh0es. Thank you for the support.
Yes Clayton huaghes is annoying but the reason why truex was doing what Clayton huages was saying is cuz you have to trust your spotter if you don’t trust your spotter you won’t have any success at all
Looking back on it as a Truex fan he was a little annoying. I like his new spotter Drew a lot especially at drafting tracks, he does a great job telling Martin where cars are. I heard the main reason Clayton was fired was because he wasn’t good at spotting of the big drafting tracks. But don’t know if that’s entirely true.
You never hit someone on cooldown lap unless they won and you bump them. But if you start unbuckling on track I’m sorry you should know as a grown adult the harm taking your seatbelt is even as 30 mph. That’s your own risk.
Even though keselowski was in the wrong Kenseth should've waited until they were on pit road and stopped before he started unbuckinling his seat belts. But you're right.
I don't disagree, but this isn't like a passenger car seat belt. It's 5 straps that are tight AF. I understand wanting to get them loosened up once the race is over.
This is amazing that you're wanting to do this I know personally I've had to fight my own dark thoughts at one point in my life and I'm so thankful that I've had other friends and family able to see what I've been through and I'll me get through it for anybody who comes across this video was contemplating suicide don't it's not worth it it never should be the answer staying Alive is worth it hell of a lot more since making the decision to stay living I've been able to do so much that I wouldn't have done if I made the choice the road to recovery is long and difficult but when you have the right support with you and things possible most of my journey has been alone but I've utilized so many self-help videos on the internet and so much else you're contemplating suicide get help make it obvious to your family that you were not okay sydel ways that you care about can help you before it's too late you not alone and you never will be

I honestly didn’t think Brett was that annoying as a spotter. Clayton was so bad now looking back at it

At least he didn’t get arrested mid race, unlike a certain “crummy” spotter :p
Just curious, who was that?

hughjass
Chris Lambert Denny’s Hamlins spotter along with Denny Hamlin’s crew chief Chris Gabehart is the most annoying crew chief
That's just cuz they've beat your favorite driver at some point. Haters gonna hate
When you Mentioned Clayton Hughes, I can still Hear him say Stage Winner MTJ, that was Totally annoying. And now he's spoting for Michael McDowell
3:47 lmfaoooooo, that’s why I watch your channel right there

Been a fan of MTJ since 2010 and I'll be honest I'm still salty about that 2018 Martinsville finish.
Truex mellowed out a lot since Clayton and him split

My thoughts exactly
@@KR_Diecasts i feel like everyone forgot about his days with prime menace Logano, plus his constant whining about being wrecked “deliberately”

While the Roval thing was an accident, there have been plenty of times around 2010 where Johson was being a little **** to other drivers.

I believe in the Clayton Hughes supremacy! Iconic voice
Tyler Green is rather annoying especially when he spots the lower ranks
