I really enjoy this 556 vs 308 comparison. These are my two favorite rounds. It would have been interesting to see the barrel length and twist for my information.

Exactly as designed, 5.56 kills at 300 yards in devastating fashion, while the 308 and 7.62 are designed for 1,000 yard kills.

Animal flesh is thicker than water. I've seen many videos that "prove " the same thing for 17hmr. Sometime I will do the Paul Harrell meat test and find out the real answers. Just one example, 17hmr will go through a treated 6x6 but the 22wmr will not. Animals are not made of wood but they're not made of water or jello either.

Good comparison using similar barrel lengths. I don't think you can expect the same expansion from live tissue as you'd get from clay, but it does give a good comparative sense of the cartridges effect.

Kind of funny seeing "slow motion" replays on rounds exceeding 4k fps - it'd take a camera more expensive than my Subaru to get a slow-mo on those rounds! The more videos I watch about the 204 vs 22-250, the more the 22-250 seems to be the wise choice. Not because of its more destructive bullet weights, but the cost of & scarcity of 204 ammo. Regarding the barrel life of a 22-250 vs something like, say, the .243 or even the .223, I'd still opt for the laser accuracy & incredible velocities of the 22-250, especially for fast-moving animals like coyotes or foxes. I've read on some channels that people have even taken moose with 22-250 due to the tack-driving accuracy of headshots - something this beginner doesn't dare try.

I would like t see that same experiment, using the same calibers. out to 500 or 600yds. being I am a huge fan of 5.56, and 7.62/308. I was very impressed with the hydrostatic shock of the 5.56 at 300yds. I would however, like to see other popular 5.56, and 223 ammo at that 300yd range

The biggest advantage I noticed as a Brit going from a 7.62x51 SLR to the 5.56x45 L85A1 was a lot quicker and easier to train recruits to shoot accurately with it at typical combat ranges, it didn't require the same level of consistency in hold and position, its 'easy mode' shooting compared to the SLR - all the power in the world is not much good if you cant land it where it needs to go..
