If you have ever wondered if using Mylar wrap in your shot shells was worth it you've come to the right place. Yes. mylar wrap will help hold a tighter pattern down range, but it has more benefits. Mylar wrap will help protect your barrel from unwanted blemishes. If you need some mylar wrap you will find some by clicking the link to Precision Reloading. www.precisionreloading.com

In this video, I pattern-tested all four of the loads from previous videos. The 16 gauge steel load and the bismuth load could stand a little more choke. Maybe next time I will remember to grab the chokes. In this video, my beautiful and talented wife makes her RUclips debut. Thank you for your support! Hull of the Week Ep. 2 Rio Steel Shot Dove Load
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.Год назад
Dove Season is upon us in just a couple weeks. With the push of non-toxic shot materials, we need to adjust to be able to hunt on public land. Here is a simple load that is effective on dove and quail that will solve that problem. I utilize the PT1253 wad which is now the BP1253 from Ballistic Products and being produced by Claybuster. The load data may change for this new wad as the polymer ma...

Loading #4 steel shot in the 16 gauge
Yes sir I think I heard Aliant steel was being discontinued
Hello im new to shotshell reloading do you know of a load data for steel shoot with fiocchi hulls with TUPRW123 wads and longshot powder its the only powder i can fond and the only data i can find is for bismuth and heavier
The only difference in mag primers and standard primers is how long it burns. Whenever possible I use a mag primer to insure a complete burn of the powder. This is exspeclie true with mag loads.
How does steel loads compare economically with a lead dove or target load?
Thanks for emphasizing the safety aspects upfront. Your talk was a perfect overview of the shell chapter of Lyman. Well explained and to the point.
Great video thank you for taking the time to explain the details no one will tell you
How the hell do I make the was that contains the bullet(not the one which is for acceleration thing)
What wad would you recommend for muzzleloader shotgun
Great Video
Nice work
Just started getting into reloading. There is a lot to learn. What powder would you recomend for steel shot #6 or #7? 1 oz loads? Thank you
I agree. Remington makes the best hulls. I even prefer Remington over the old AA. I have started only buying Remington and Federal High Overall 12 gauge to replace my AA hulls. STS is the best 20 gauge hull also. After them I would take any Remington 20 hull (gun clubs and hunting hulls) then AA.
I wish international was available 😞
Great information!
Great video and thanks for sharing this very important safety factor! I almost 10:31 always follow the specs and am careful not to deviate with any components. That said in making some 12 GA cooper slugs recently I switched the powder by one grain and increased pressure caused my shell casing to melt! I could not get the shell to eject! Because my pump shotgun had a fixed barrel I had to take this to my local gunsmith. A $106 mistake!
Very extensive video Matt, nicely done! I'm now using some CLAY BUSTER wads in 12 GA I sourced from Bass Pro, but I've also used Ballistic Products as well. I'm now trying to perfect or replicate some 20 GA Sabot loads with copper Barnes slugs to shoot out of my SAVAGE 220 for deer season. Remington stopped selling their Copper Solids and the price is running $5 per round for their other sabot offering. At any rate, don't know if you've ever tried reloading sabot slugs in either 20 or 12 GA. When I finally succeed in matching factor accuracy, I'll shoot a video for my RUclips channel. Thaks for sharing.
Nice job on this video and powder review! OMG! I couldn't believe how much STEEL powder you have on hand! I've been looking for some STEEL now for two years and it's out of stock everywhere! Probably because of all the wars going on in the Middle East and Europe! We're trying to create some 20 GA SABOT loadings to replace the Remington Cooper Solids which have been discontinued!
Very interesting on the wadslick results. I wouldn't have fully bought into the product without seeing actual results.
Thanks for making this video . I've learned something new today . Just subscribed 😊
THank you!
Thank you!!! I just ordered pre primed 3” Fiocchi from bp. The gentleman I talked to said they had a magnum primer.
Only a couple ways to change burn rate. 1 kernel size. 2 base material. 3 coating. I’m new to shotgun but not new to reloading. Does shotgun powder degrade like varget or 4350? Is flake powder or ball powder better?
Great info!! Thank you very much!!
This is what I needed cheers Mr OK
What brand/kind of lubricant do you use on your presses?
epic intro's...great content
Great videos but you need to do the videos without dipping. It is a turnoff for some of us. Video info is great though.
I see comments on forums that Mylar wrap increases chamber pressure 1000 to up to 2500 psi. Does anyone know anything about that?
Great presentation and a very good sharing for us newbies - thanks!
I just started getting into reloading. Found a 20g, 2 3/4, 1 1/8 load, and it calls for a non slit wad. This is something I am looking for. The name of the video through me off. I glad I clicked on it. Going to go try one out.
👍Thank you for this informative Video!
WTF spitting in a cup while making a video, you couldn't put it aside for 15 minutes.
Great production
Good info. Thanks. The difference between "can use" & "should use" difference while reloading can have devestating consequences. I ain't gonna be reinventing load data from scratch. Haha
I'm watching back through videos I've watched already, just absorbing info, but nice to see another Okie in the hobby. Have mainly found content from BRO & Shotgun Scientist. The shotshell reloading for beginners Facebook group in kinda helpful too. Haven't found any components locally yet, but still hopeful to find some powder & primers in the 918 before taking the plunge. Bass Pro in BA seems to be the only retailer around. Have a good one Sir
Where can i get tss load data for a 410 turkey loads.
You never shot pigeons
Do you shoot games?
Now that Hodgdon Clays is no longer available, Hodgdon Perfect Pattern is a really good powder to use for target loads, that is 7/8 ounce and 1 ounce loads, and Hodgdon Titegroup or High Gun (same powder) is great for 1-1/8 ounce target loads. P.S. I'm glad you didn't repeat the old nonsense about slow powders having lower recoil than fast powders. That's nonsense.
Clays ist wonderful.....😢
great information... thank you !
Love you videos man, your very knowledgeable. Hope to see you more!
Do you have a good 1 1/8 oz steel load in a 3 inch shell going 1400 plus with powders other than steel?
I want to load the 1 once 2 3/4 and 7.5 lead shot and green dot powder. Where can I find a recipe for monarch hulls?
What other types of wrap are used and under which circumstances? Ive used mylar b4, but i remeber hearing one guntuber talk briefly about......maybe it was teflon, i cant totally recall though.
Displaced Okie here. Thanks for the info. Hope all goes well with your eyes. Elbow, eyes, soon you'll be 18 again!
Both loads look to be effective, but I think the Federal has the edge. Remington Model 11 fan here.
That was an interesting demonstration of patterning. BTW, did the semi-auto eject your hull?
Rifle/pistol reloaders don't appreciate the advantages of the slow, purposeful, methodical shotshell reloading method you demonstrate.
Very helpful, just getting started reloading, thanks!
Which gunpowder is used in Remington 00 shells
Have to check a manual or published data from powder manufacturers.
1 minute long intro is ridiculous.
It was pretty good though, might watch it again.
