Peugeot P4 / Mercedes G Wagon detailed restoration Vlog PART 2
heard you coughing. I wonder if it would help to keep the wind at your back instead of inhaling the toxic smoke.
To quote Mr Duval,; "Nothing beats the smell of napa..." sorry, thermite ..."in the morning.."
Cool trip! Glad you got better. Heat stroke is no joke. Can't drink enough water! I will be getting a top like yours to keep cooler in my CJ2a for sure! Cheers.
The closest thing you can get to a mechanical mule / camel
Well done, nice footage, glad you got over your illness. An engineer friend worked in Algeria 1980s, and whilst out on a 'jolly' similar to you, he accidentaly knocked down a youngster, enough to need hospital. Next morning, his company had him flown home pronto, the local bad feeling dispelled by the fact my friend had been 'severely punished' by the company. See you in pt3!
Why not just grab the box out of the second Jeep ?
Brilliant. Doing what the Jeep was designed for (kind of!) well done.
V.good, look forwards pt2
Hi - Had flu over Christmas, but feeling better now - I am working on a part 2 and even a three! (maybe a spin off part 4 about the jeep restoration and work/ preparation exclusively?) Hopefully have part 2 out in a week or so..
genial
Is that one of the garages in Zagora, which helped with the rear springs? Did a similar trip in 2016 with my son in our LR 109 S 3 (200TDi Swap), 1984. Heinz, Germany
Ha ha yes it's the Zagora garage. It was worth speaking french to them as it meant I could discuss the work (and the costs!) in detail.. Some of the other customers couldn't speak the lingo and ran up very steep bills
Excellent adventure! A friend has a ex military Jeep from the 40s. What is the year and model of yours? Loved the convoy with all the Defenders. Interesting reversal of things; my wife’s daily driver and our weekend fun /adventure car is a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, and I am doing a mechanical restoration on a 1966 Series2A Land Rover88”. I live 2 hours west of Yosemite National Park, and my goal is to make it safe and reliable to make that trip and back. The road is smooth and paved , however a brake failure would mean death!😳. Old Landys are not common here in the States and very rare here on the West coast. The nearest shop is more than 100 miles away , so I’m the mechanic.🥴 Cheers Part 2 will be interesting.👍
Hi the flat fender jeep used was a 1962 Hotchkiss M201, built under licence as a Willys Overland of France. Basically identical to the WW2 model except 24v electrics and cog driven timing (rather than a belt)
this is the kind of stuff i luv to see on the 'tube...thanks for this...looking forward to the next episode.
Sooooo cool I have an rough 1942 Willy’s Mb, thanks for taking us along
😄 MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Great Video ,Long time Fan of Tintin et Milou,Living in Kenya in the Great Rift Valley, 6km south of the Equator .We don't have to drive far to do our off roading . Looking forward to part 2
Thanks for sharing!
there is a book about 2 german students who took a willys jeep and a small caravan in the 60s and went 4 times from cape to cape. crossing the sahara too. Very interesting if you see which minimal ressources they used to archieve something what others are doing with bullet proofed expensive expedition vehicles.
What's the name?
As soon as I have access to the book I will send you a picture. It’s not available by amazon.
Google for: Frank Reinhold viermal ans Ende der Welt
Sorry, it’s a Landrover series, not the willys. But they wanted to take a willys at the beginning, However, the message and the adventure is the same. From north cape to Capetown and from Cape Horn to Alaska with a series 1 and a caravan. Crossing the Sahara as well as the jungle
Fck awesome ! Thanks for taking me along...
Having got a Jeep over the summer, I'm quite a bit away from doing an expedition like this. But what a fantastic trip....well done 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. The big takeaway of course is that when Mr Musk gets us as far as Mars, he's gonna need to take a few Jeeps to get about. Outstanding and magnificent terrain. We'll done again 👍🏻
SOFAM 8Gxb engine for AMX 13 tank. Flat 8 (boxer) petrol engine: 8,27 liter displacement, 250 hp at 3200 rpm.
Thanks for another great video 😊👍 seemed they had a lot of vehicles for destruction even some British (Saxons) tucked up in one of the rows.
I would like to see a video on how to export something
Very good video. Do you buy P4s from the Domaine site? I'm definitely interested in a tutorial on export licences.
Brilliant video, well done on rescuing some old p4s😊
Please, please, please... lose the music! I can't gear you over the annoying noise. Good on ya for rescuing the old girls.🫡
Yes always open to new ideas, to solve old problems! My email is ebarrimore@hotmail.com
Thank you for your New Video, i have see the Video from the Hotchkiss / Ignitionwire , and make this on my jeep to. But i have a better idea for myself to save the old (very expensive Sparkwires on the Hotchkiss ) . Wenn you be intressted i can you send more informations ! my System works now with normal Sparkplugs and the original Distributor and i can remove all original Parts back by problems in 5 min. Best Regards from Bavaria / Germany .
Sounds great!
The first time, someone tells me, an indenor engine runs quite😀 british humor?
you could copy what they do making wind instruments , fill the pipe full of soapy water and freeze it then bend it , the soap stops it from being brittle and it bends nicely
Your right, that is seriously ugly.
WOVEN TYPE PLASTIC *** STRIP IT DISCS*** ARE WAY WAY BETTER TOOL FOR CLEANING &&& PREPARATION ::: YOU WILL SMILE USING FROM FRONT TO REAR &&&& TOP TO BOTTOM ::::&&& AMEN !!!!
Thanks for another great video 👍
That did not look like Hi-Temp Grease you used in the rear hub?!? It’s usually Red like the Grease that was in there when you opened it.
Hi the red grease is just a high temp grease with colourant - it helps me see when things have been greased on my tanks etc.
Looks like the hotchkiss successor in the background, a Peugeot P4 !
Please compare to Soviet UAZ 469b
love the looks of the sagaie less boxy that an amx10 but the same big gun on a wheeled chassis pattern!! beautiful to see those saved from scraps and looking mint!!!
FABULEUX !! Quelle joie pour un Français de voir revivre ce bijou de l'armée d'avant... Et quelle honte qu'on ne puisse pas s'en procurer chez nous 😢
Anyway to triple turbo this thing and make 700hp have a 70 charger body I want something like this in
Fantastic video, so informative. Please continue producing content!
C'est une AML 60 (With mortar 60mm caliber)
Blev väldigt intresserad av att ha en egen 👍🏻
Man, I wish you can buy these from somesort of Auction. Would love to own one here in the US.
Feel free to check out our facebook page; French Army Reenactment Group, we indicate where you can get them from there.
Nice job, you should be well pleased. With the Panhard, as you as you get something rare and interesting the money meter starts whirring round. Living in France I have some experience with older Panhard cars, with them parts are also an expensive nightmare.
Thank you 😁👍
Great video 👍
Entertaining work. Saludos from Valparaiso Chile 🔧🪛🔩
With the turbo's, this is actually a Deutz BF8L413. Maximum output would be about 320 metric horsepower. Several South American countries refitted small numbers of their AMX 13 tanks and related vehicles with either the normally aspirated F8L413 engine (256 hp) or the turbocharged (like this one) BF8L413 engine. The oil coolers are actually essential to the normal operation of these air-cooled engines.
Maybe i missed something but i don't understand how selling this wheeled tank with a ready to fire gun has been allowed.
In the uk you can own such vehicles, as long as the gun is on your firearms licence. The beauty of living in the UK!
In the UK, what does MOT mean?
Ministry Of Transport. Same as the DOT/TUV. ITS A YEARLY test for vehicles over 3 years old For roadworthyness.
Ministry of Transport Test
L'armée française avait considérablement amélioré les performances des Jeeps Hotchkiss d'origine, qui du coup fonctionnaient beaucoup mieux que les Willys ou les Ford .... mais tout ça est maintenant devenu complètement obsolète ....
Do you sell these cars? If, where can I find them?
