“Fur collars, trim” or lining!
bloody hell ! Why is every info vid about Shakespearean lingo and not Elizabethan ? 1. Is it because they knew Queen Elizabeth the first was (swarthy) so they would rather a white lingo such as Shakespeare ? 2. Or is it because Elizabethan was lingo among actors only ? When the INTERNET went public, I saw a website that taught " HOW TO SPEAK ELIZABETHAN " and it is very diff than shakes. But what is weird is that the website belong to a (coven) of witches...wth?

I'm only here because I bought a Tudor Watch. Interesting, indeed!
Actually, in Tudor times the wooden structure of the houses was made from green oak and was never tarred in that period, the Victorians made the decision to tar the wood which caused deterioration of the wood due to it not being allowed to breath due to the tar covering and hence the wood rotted.
Ruffs captured and reflected light making the face and facial expressions visible
This was amazing!! I’m sewing a Tudor era piece right now and the overview was incredibly helpful. Thank you
I sympathize with Henry the VIII, and the terrible wives he had to deal with. There is no excuse for not bearing a son!
This video just helped me pass 4 exams TYSM *bows*
This helps because we will have a test soon so thanks
Bloody Mary ew for real 💯
A poorly researched video.
A badly researched combination of fact and misinformation!
What an unnecessary set of events. Thank you so much for making it easier to understand! ✨
Women’s style changes every decade, then and now.
You use the term "corset" a few times in this video, and that's not even close to correct. The supportive undergarment in this period would have been the kirtle. Considering that the garment we now call a corset didn't appear until the 19th century, including that in this video undermines your credibility.
And they said Christians is the true religion
And they said Christians is the true religion
Great great uncle on my father's Uncle
Horrors!
20/20
He was seventeen on becoming king as it was before his birthday
Please ignore this. Corsets/stays etc were Not Tudor. This whole this is a farce at best , lies at worst. Pure incorrect crap.
Henry V11 th died in April 1509 when Henry V 111th was 17 years old. His 18th birthday birthday was in June .
Thank you I've always wondered how to spot a Tudor home. It's very interesting in how Hampton court was ahead of its time really. By Cardinal Walsey.
Always thought they had an epidemic of whiplash during the Tudor times 🤷
lol
I did scored 19/20 I was wrong at the last question
Question 5 does not contain the correct answer. Henry was 17 when he became King. Born 28th June 1491. Became King on 22nd April 1509 (2 months before his 18th birthday)
3:10 It’s important to mention that Henry’s first catatonic stupor was in 1453, not in 1454 as they say here. This is important as His son, Edward of Lancaster was born during Henry’s bout of sidkness in 1453.
The Tudor Dynasty began in 1485, not 1495.
Yes, 22 Aug 1485 to 24 March 1603. Who suggested 1495?
Thanking you
i would like to hear more about how men fit into those tiny waisted vests
fun fact: theres actually no balcony in R&J ever mentioned but it's still most times staged with one
@JDraper, check out the portrait at 6'45 !
I thought they originated in Germany
I WANT ONE! Dammit, I'm 400 years too late.
Missed one 70,000 executed seems a lot for the population at that time
More than One door, less than three doors. A Tudor house
Is Liberty London a Tudor building?
No
They are the most beautiful 😅f houses to me. love the black timbers
That Lopsided House with orange colured plaster at 9.25 m is in Lavenham Suffolk. It is said that the Nursery Ryhme, '' There was a Crooked man, who lived in a Crooked house, he Walked a Crooked Mile' etc, was inspired by this house. It has a incredible lean, I can't see how anyone could live in it, though it looks well kept.
init history funny all those strugles and wrestling for nothing, thefore loves conquers all
What do I have to find videos of the INSIDE of these types of houses/shops?
They had no idea how stupid they would look in future, look like they are wearing a spandex suit with a rose bush wrapped around themselves
Secret service keeps the leader not “safe” first, but in power.
Forgetting Henry the 8th wore a cod piece also. In the 1540s
These houses are bad replicas of classical Turkish residential houses originally found in the Ottoman lands in the 13th century. They were seen in Turkey by travelers and traders in the Middle Ages and later imitated in all European countries. Especially in Germany, France and England. Because in history, politically and economically powerful countries, especially their architectures and lifestyles, have always been imitated. Just like today's American skyscrapers are built in all countries.. (You can search for classical Ottoman wooden houses and see how the originals look, especially in the Anatolian town called Safranbolu)
Music is noisy , please we need videos without music
what if Anne of cleves really is ugly but the painter makes anne of cleves face a little bit pleasant. If anne of cleves face is similar to the painting, she is not that ugly.
