REAL A380 PILOT | A380 Abnormal Operations PART 2 | MSFS FBW
Autopilot Education continue the A380 series, with part 2 of Abnormal Operations on the FBW A380. This video will continue on from Part 1, where we looked at an FMC-A fault, and then a Green and Yellow Hydraulic Reservoir leak, leading to the loss of both hydraulic systems.
In this video we will show our descent preparation, approach, and landing in this configuration. Also we will highlight things we do in the real world, and how this compares to MSFS.
I would like to say a huge thanks to the team at FBW for their continued hard work on this fantastic bit of software. Despite one or two glitches, the level of realism is sky high.
And also a huge thanks to our amazing viewers and subscribe...

A320 Low Visibility Procedures - MSFS 2020 FENIX
Always a pleasure watching your videos, nice seeing some more in-depth explanation of systems. As for some of the bugs seen in this video: - We don't have the electric motor unit for the slats implemented yet, only hydraulic actuation for now. So unfortunately that behavior is inaccurate right now - The navdata on some airports suffers from incorrect LOC or G/S data, that's not something the aircraft can influence - We recently updated the flight model, leading to more accurate climb/descend rates, and better matching to the pitch/N1 tables for different configurations On a general note, we're currently working on an overhaul of the FWS for the A380X, introducing abnormal procedures you can navigate through (with conditions and the lot), abnormal non-sensed procedures, failures and resets through the reset panel. Cheers, floridude from the FBW team.
I have a question - is the default camera the correct seating position in the A380? A320 family pilots are taught to see the top of the glareshield, isnt it a case here?
2 things that i can get to work. 1) nosewheel steering is complet mystery to me, nothing is working 2 Baro button will not go to standard.
Thanks

Great work! Really appreciate the videos.
@@C-Swede Thank you mate!
Is it not needed to balance the fuel at one point? Why is the fuel balance never checked?
Thank you for those insights! Is the realm A380 also keeping you busy with all those consequential PMP x PRESS LO checklists, when dealing with a hydraulic reservoir low level?
Glad you liked it, and yes, correct! The pumps are switched off to prevent any pump damage and overheating
Thanks so much for doing this video. Amazing lesson from a real world pilot of a A380. Gives us mere mortals a real sense of what you pros have to go through to keep us safe in the skies. Thanks again, really appreciate it.
Nice to meet you! In order to "communicate" better, if you turn down the cockpit volume a bit, I will be able to hear you better (you can check the volume by watching the video on RUclips). Thanks for this interesting tutorial!
Thanks for the feedback! Had a bit of mic trouble recently but will bare this in mind going forward. Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the video
You do really perfect jobs, thank you so much
All the widebody BA pilots I've spoken to absolutely rip into the 380. "Why would anyone want to fly that?" etc. All in good faith, of course! Thanks for these vids, highly informative!
@@cornaddict5895 haha brilliant. It’s a bit of a headache on the ground, but superb in the air. Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello , I think weather radar is not implemented yet so Do u know any alternative way one can follow instead of this.
Love this and your last 380 video, it’s really interesting to hear this from someone who drives the 380. Shame about the audio that went wrong.
There is something wrong with the audio, like a reverberation
At 0:06 he writes "apologies if the audio isn't great, having microphone troubles!"... 🤦♂️
much appreciated if you could make video once a week
well i mean he is a long haul pilot so i dont think that's possible
6fps hard to watch 😂
you should make videos a little bit more frequent, your explaination is very clear and calm
underrated. thanks for this!
Great video thank you
So great to have a real A380 pilot test this out. Please keep making A380 content!
Looking forward to the next videos. Well done mate 👏
Hello autopilot. Interesting video but my 1st setback was it would’ve been more understanding if you had started from cold n dark 2nd you did not highlight the switches you were turning on it would’ve been quite help to me. Thanks for your help though
@@Trent-m1x thanks for the feedback. I switched on the BATTERIES and EXT POWER to simulate what we’re likely to find in the real world, when we first enter the aircraft. From a cold and dark situation, you would switch on the batteries once you have done a battery check (as shown in the video), then once they are on, you’d turn on the external power. Hope that helps 😊
Hello cptain could you explain N2 N3 / Engine A320 for the startup thank 😉🙏
Really glad and grateful there is a 380 pilot that’s letting us know of real SOP. You are doing great and I’m looking forward to more!
Thx for the help but I am unable to show terrain.
… So good of you to do this for our community … so amazing to get a real A380 pilot going through all this … learned so much from you … a wee bit more complicated than the PPL although of course that basic knowledge of flight is still essential … thank you👏
Hello, how are you? I work with the FlyByWire team, and I'm thrilled to see an incredible A380 pilot like you teaching others how to operate our A380X in the simulator as accurately as you do in real life. I'd like to express my gratitude for creating such wonderful content, demonstrating the correct operations of this remarkable aircraft. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and show the SOPs you currently use with everyone. I want to encourage you to keep up your amazing teaching; it truly helps the community learn many incredible things about simulation. I apologize for any systems that aren’t fully functional yet, but we're working on adding them in the future to enhance your experience and support your valuable teaching for the community. Congratulations on the fantastic work, and a big thank you from all of us 🤩😍
@@SpaceTechAviation hugely appreciate your comment and I would like to thank you and the FBW team for all your hard work that you’ve put into this project. The level of accuracy is superb, and please don’t apologize for any systems which aren’t quite there yet! Of course we will continue to make these videos, it’s something we love doing. Keep in touch, and a big thanks once again. Happy landings! ✈️
@@AutoPilotEducation It was a pleasure to make this comment, and my team and I are grateful for your kindness and understanding of our work, as we dedicate a lot of our time to this project. We’re thrilled to see an A380 pilot say that the level of our A380X is excellent; this is extremely rewarding for us. Thank you for understanding, and since we’ve launched it as an open alpha, we’ll continue to update it and add new systems over time. Please keep making these videos; it’s something we truly love seeing. I really enjoyed your explanations and the SOP you use in real life. Of course, let’s keep in touch. I’m the one who should thank you once again for everything. It’s amazing to see pilots taking the time to teach our great community. A big hug, and happy landings to you as well.
Thanks for a really interesting and informative video - great to see a real A380 pilot making videos for the FBW A380 👍
Huge thanks for this, really appreciate it. Subbed.
Really brilliant and informative, videos done by real world guys like yourself make our hobby more immersive and enjoyable trying to follow real world procedures is a great challenge, thank you for your time and effort.
Great video, Thanks. If you get a chance, it would be great if you could put a check list with all the detaild stuff. I tried to do it folling allong with the video but got lost.🙂
Great video, love your presentation method. Please make more !!
question for the intro / why the procedures are different from real life ? there are not military to be classified / i am missing something ?
@@meade918r most of the procedures are aligned with Airbus SOP. Had to alter one or two things to accommodate for the simulator 😃
Thanks for this. Amazing to hear when in the real world the orde they are turned on and done. Please keep recording and do tutorials! Youll do very well

Doha to Adelaide... as detailed in the flight plan...
Great Video, but I have two quick questions. First of all which sideswipe do you use? And secondly what MSFS Sensetivity settings do you use / find to be especially realistic?
One for the algo. Great channel.
For the algo
Standby Horizon is dead, 😇 thanks for video 🎉
Mitchell Passage
Spencer Island
how are you automatically descending?
Nice video, my only feedback is maybe reduce the cockpit noise volume down a bit and increase the pilot voice a touch, it would be less realistic but more educational.
Do you know how to lose pressure? My a320 is overpressurizing and it’s annoying idk what to do please help
@@melvin2925 if you are doing normal flight make sure the pressurization switch are in normal position.
