  • The AutoPilots continue the A320 Type Rating course for Microsoft Flight Simulator, with today's lesson on the Dual Hydraulic Failure. As for all our lessons, this video will be divided into two parts: The theory, where we will look at the hydraulic systems, checklists and flows. We will then have a practical demonstration which will show the management of the failure, including the management model as discussed in the theory, and an approach & landing with one hydraulic system remaining.
    Today's video is slightly different as we are recording it with our real voices, using the YOUR CONTROLS addon on the Fenix A320 for MSFS. There are some glitches that come with this. Faults include:
    - Auto thrust - caution pops up despite thrust levers set correctly.
    - Auto thrust - N1 is incorrect for the approach, should be a lot lower.
    Flight Directors - FDs at some point show a fly right/left but this is not correct.
    As the CPT was PF, the indications were correct on their side, but for PM view they we're showing something different.
    We are real world airline pilots, who want to share our knowledge and experience with you, so if you have any questions, ask away in the comment section below! We hope you enjoy, and would love it if you could like and subscribe to our channel. It really helps us out and motivates us to make more content.
    Happy landings :) - hopefully it'll be better than ours in this video!

    Brilliant video mate! I would suggest to add time stamps on the video to access bits quickly. Hopefully you guys do all the major failures. Cheers!

    Awesome!!! This video is really helpful! Thanks for the video. By the way, what was he saying at@31:58? "extend the sense line?"

    • @AutoPilotEducation
      @AutoPilotEducation  10 месяцев назад +1

      Glad you like it! "Extend the centreline" was basically asking the pilot to create a line from the descent point on the ILS, which can be seen on the ND screen. This improves our situational awareness, and helps for energy management.

    These videos are great, many thanks. No criticism, but @7:16, shouldn’t the landing flap be 3 when in direct law?

      Ahhh yes, good spot! You're absolutely correct. It is Flap 3 for a dual hydraulic failure. You can see we do this in the sim demonstration but thanks for pointing out my mistake :) Glad you like our videos too!

    Very useful thank you. It could be better with less cockpit noise

    Nice Video except the landing but this is due to the bad ground model of the Fenix pre Version 2.
