i'm honestly confused how the casual and competitive playerbase isn't completely seperated. is it just the power of the endgame chat, or like, Twitter, or something? idk, maybe I'm just old, I remember tournaments being like a private, niche thing

DBD is just not fit to be a competitive game. Too much RNG and too big of a gap between killer strengths and too many possible perk combos that create a lot of unwinnable situations on both sides. For it to be comp-worthy, every gen, every pallet, everyTHING has to always spawn in the same place every time. Only certain maps could be used since some maps can be one-sided. Only certain killers could be used since some are quite busted. No perks, no items, no addons. Now does this sound balanced and worthy of a competitive setting? Sure, but it would also be extremely boring and repetitive. Not to mention, DBD was never made with comp in mind. Sadly there's always gonna those players who only play games over-competitively and only feel good when they win. I wish there was a separate casual and comp mode, one for chill play, and one for sweating your balls off lol

The thing with spirit is, her counterplay is inconsistent. It's always a 50/50. Stealth is only a soft counter, but with so many ways to reveal survivors stealth as a whole is just not viable

I agreed with a lot of what you said till you got to SBMM. I will never agree with it and nobody can change my mind. I’ve watched it ruin soooo many games like dbd, madden, Cod etc. In your “example” with Freddy saying you get baby survivors because you don’t play him that much and the games are boring, that’s a you problem. MMR ruined this game like it has ruined all games it’s ever been implemented into. The point of ORGANIC MATCH MAKING like what cod and dbd had is to teach the player where they need to improve AND THEN THEY SEE THERE GROWTH OVERTIME. It’s the reason why XDefiant is KILLING COD rn bc it’s made from former cod devs who specifically made the game to be random. This randomness leads to variety which leads to more fun to be had. Some games you get stomped other games you stomp other ppl. Over time you’re supposed to get better and the sign you know you are is you get stomped far less and do the stomping far more. Dbd isn’t balanced nearly enough to warrant mmr, and if I’m being honest, it’s the reason why the games still very poorly balanced. Mmr breeds sweaty ppl who figure out how to consistently break the game. Ppl would be less incentivized to find breakpoints if they weren’t constantly getting screwed over. I’ve been playing this game since 2018 and even streamed it for 3 years. If I could have the old dbd pre mmr with the current design of the game it would be a million times better than the game we have now. I also kinda find it ironic you tell ppl to not care about SBMM when you quite literally don’t know how it works in dbd. The min range is 650 and the cap is 1650. The higher you go the less likely you are to find ppl not running boring ass perks in the same build you have seen hundreds of times. The other issue with SBMM is how easily it is to manipulate like YT like Ayrun, JRM, Noob3 etc have done. They lowered there MMR to the lowest possible to CONSISTENTLY get new players so they can shit all over them in a video. That can only happen in SBMM if it was organic Match Making you wouldn’t be able to manipulate it to play new players over and over and over again.

Hello! I have some constructive criticism regarding your microphone issues, unlike most here I actually know what the core issues are and have some advice for you to solve them: 1. The microphone's receiving end is not aimed at your mouth properly, it sounds as though it's aimed _above._ The end result is varying volume when speaking, but this can be fixed by simply adjusting the microphone (If it is a headset microphone as I suspect, I would recommend bringing it down to between your bottom lip and your chin for example) You could also apply a compressor filter to _assist_ the issue, though without physical readjustment it may be tougher. 2. Your voice wavers and is uneasy, this is perfectly fine! You're new to scripting videos, but it's good to take more attempts and have more breaks between sentences and then cut out the dead-space and errors in post. I would recommend writing down 2-3 sentence "groups", practice repeating them until it feels natural, then try to say it from memory before moving on to the next segment. This will make the audio sound more natural and appealing to more people. (It's optional but advised) 3. Your microphone volume is low, surprisingly low. Many users keep their videos' volumes at about 70 when wearing headphones, some even lower, to these people your microphone will sound _way_ worse than it actually is because only the loud peaks will come through, which is when audio sounds its worse. Try raising the actual volume your microphone reads at while recording, adjusting gain in post will feel a lot weirder with such a shift. I would recommend using OBS to monitor your volume _while_ you record, it has built-in filters like gain, compressors, etc. As for volume, try to balance it so when you talk it's in the yellow-range (I'd try to keep it close to the edge of green & yellow if possible, to prevent accidental peaking) Technical advice aside, I quite liked this video!
