Hello, and welcome!
I love dumplings, travel, and I live abroad to my country of birth, hence the name and theme of the channel. I'm an extremely amateur video maker, so please excuse the mistakes - I'm learning as I go!
At the moment, my posting schedule is every second Friday, because Life(TM) gets a mahoosive priority, and this channel is my hobby (for now! Let's see where things take me in few years' time, eh?)

Edinburgh's farmers' markets
So it was about 3 weeks ago that I have been an absolute clutz, took a stumble, and twisted my ankle (well, it was a ligament popping better than a weasel, but you know). A trip to the hospital for an x-ray proved nothing was broken, but this also meant that my penguin waddle prevented me from going crazy with explorations. (This explains my slightly weird descent down the stairs in this video, but hey, at least I survived the trip! Catching the tram to Leith did help, though.)

This was almost a spur of the moment trip for me. Queensferry is easy to access by the Lothian busses (as well as trains but hey, the bus option was easier for me!), it was a lush day and I haven't been there for a long while. (OK, OK, maybe I wanted to spend a bit of time by the seaside on that gorgeous day, too 😉)

I got lucky with the weather when I came to visit this place. (Come to think of it, I've been relatively lucky so far with most of my visits and weather!). Here we have a wild dumpling exploring the bush. See as they swat away the feral edges of the garden, while being courteous to others and pausing to ponder the lush green foliage. - Love the mowed in rose in one of the grass areas, that was cute. This brings back lots of memories. I spent many nights here when I worked at a Liverpool housing charity who had offices in Carlisle. Some nice pubs there, but a lot of shops have closed since i was last there, but thats the same every where now, since covid and the energy companies made it impossible for small businesses to survive.

i like the raw footage, its nice just seeing it as you did. i think the only thing that will help with a shaky cam is a gimbal, but that's no good if you want your hands free. some lovely scenery there, thanks for sharing 💞

Plus, I feel like people might not be as put off with me when I don't have a gimbal, and I also don't stand out as much 😅 (but that also results in more natural behaviour from peeps? It was just a SMIDGE windy, yes! 😂 The whole little town is amazing, I'm definitely going to visit it again at some point! I bet it is, too. Definitely not going in there late at night, though 😅 but would love to go there again and try NOT to he spooked by pigeons again 🤣🤣

Yes, exactly. Do you reach it just by coming off the bridge? Did you have to go down a ramp or staircase? Do you recall if it was part of Nori Miller Park?
I crossed the bridge, and it was pretty much almost there. From way I recall, there was no staircase, so it was just a sloping ground. I think it was part of Nori Miler Park, or was super close to it.
Doesn't it have some lovely places? Am trying to figure out your precise location when you were very close to (and on the same level as) the water, before you went up the ramp?

@@exploringdumpling I'm in early days of what may be a novella, but being able to be there through the non-dialogued lens of you (you got your insights across without the spoken dialogue!) and see what it is like now with feet on the ground just brought the whole place to life in a way looking purely at photos won't. I've been to Scotland twice, but not to Stirling- I've tended to set my stories in Stornoway and environs, as I went out to the Outer Hebrides! But Stirling Castle's history is so wild, I'm setting an AU story in which the 'Britons' have co-evolved with the corvid population since the last ice age and instead of it being Stirling Castle, it's Stirling University, established sometime in this AU 800s or so. Seeing the blackberries, the jay, the way the light washes over the hills--- this was sublime. I'll probably watch this again and again for ongoing inspiration. Truly, thank you!! 💕🙏
