Walk to Colington along Craiglockheart

And this video, kids, is what you get when I decide to go out exploring with a brand new shooting camera shortly after shooting my very first video with it and not having edited it. Meaning that I haven't had a chance to learn anything and ta-da! What do we get? A hot mess that I...rather like? I rather like the whole "rawness" of the video, although I realise that this particular edition is a little bit (or maybe rather a lot) too raw. I really do need to sit down and learn how to plan and shoot videos, don't I?
But this video made me realise that I rather like the hiking and shooting at the same time. This is an idea that I might actually play around with in the future a little bit more, but at the moment I think I'm going to be sticking with a bit of a hodge-podge of travel/exploration videos, until I settle down with what I like.
Yet again, I have followed the path I found in "Edinburgh: Weekend Walks" by Nick Drainey. This time I didn't have a chance to follow the route exactly as the book had intended as, after having done the route the weekend prior to shooting, I have found that part of the route was actually blocked for the public for whatever reason. So the video shows only one way, and a slightly skewed route at that. Maybe one day, if I decide to follow one of the other routes from the book, I'd be more lucky and actually do it as the book has intended! Until then, watch the space!
