A GUIDE TO ARAB HISTORY – Must Read Books for Curious Minds
Have you ever wondered what books would be best read to satisfy your curiosity about Arabs and their history. Which books represent the foundation to properly understand Arabs? Who they were? What events and actions shaped their past, into becoming who they are today? Being an Arab myself, I asked the same questions.
And since many of the Kandari Chronicles viewers have also asked the same question, a full video listing many books that relay the story of Arabs and Arabia is now part of this channel’s content. I hope you some of the titles do indeed trigger. And for those that know much about Arab history, I would be a pleasure to have your recommendations as well.

THE COLLAPSE OF THE ZIONIST STATE - Revealing Israel’s Moral Decay
Просмотров 6 тыс.21 час назад
The beginning of a nation for Palestinians won’t come with a peace. No Zionist has shown any will for a peaceful resolution to the crisis. The opportunity for a Palestinian state will only come with the likeliest of fates, and that is the end of the Zionist state as we know. Not due to any war or forced global pressure, but only through the increasing moral decay of the nation, through its own ...
A RENEWAL IN ISLAM - Balancing Tradition with Modern Governance
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.14 дней назад
Islam in modernity has seen challenges like no other. New systems of governance that contradict the traditional rule and laws of the faith. The polarities are simple, one school believes in the dominance of Shari’a while other claims that the rule of civic states and their laws should be the main influence for modern systems of governance. This video reveals the conflicting methods that Muslim ...

HEBREW IS DEAD. LONG LIVE HEBREW! - Zionism’s Invention of a Common Language

Zionism has masterminded a narrative that includes all types of history’s retelling. Part of this myth is the story of how the Jewish people throughout their long history have been one people with one history, culture and identity. This is far from the truth. EXCOMMUNICADO! - A History of Discretionary Muslim Judgement

Once Arabs began the shift in their way of life, of their nomadic tendencies and slowly became urbanised, the internal conflict between their tribal belief and behavioural systems continued for many centuries. Islam was challenged at its very earliest by an uprising, well, many simultaneous uprisings. Yeah, why would anyone compare Nazis to radical Palestinians like Hamas? What do they have in common other than Mohammed Amin Al-Husseni, Mufti of Jerusalem, who fled to Germany in the 1940s, spread Nazi propaganda to the Arab world and wrote, "Germany and Italy recognize the right of the Arab countries to solve the question of the Jewish elements... as the Jewish question was solved in Germany and Italy." Yeah. You really have to grasp at straws to draw any parallels

And why do we talk about the Holocaust rather than China or the Congo. I think it's self-evident but only one of these took place and precipitated a world war that involves most of the Nations who have said memorials. Unfortunately, the Congo and Africa get forgotten while China hides every negative aspect of its history.

Now cover the massacre of 1929 and the conspiracies pushed by the racist (and later Nazi supporting) Mufti that caused it. These theories, which mirror the antisemites of Europe, are still endemic among Palestinians today. The projection on Israelis of being filled with bloodlust when we saw regular Palestinians rush across the border to rape and murder is ironic. Gazans could have made a beautiful city on the coast. They could have moved forward rather than avenge grievances. But they chose Hamas, suffering and death. Moreover, this entire theory is absurd. Israel was more divided prior to October 7th than now even after all they've been through. If you want to talk about the dissolution of a movement, look at what is left of Sinwar's Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran's allies in Syria, etc. Palestinians have a choice. Abandon the absolutist chants. Lay down the weapons. Support moderates like the PA and step into this millennium.

As an Arab, this video is utter nonsense (and I am saying this in the most respectful way possible). First of all the statistics in used are unfathomably wrong! Seriously many arab countries don't even have an estimation of their population due to wars and sanctions (like for example syria) but if you look at a country that has the fundings to carry out such research (ksa for example) then u can see that the literacy rate is 99.38% Also wdym by "there are not that many bookstores" brother, seriously? Almost every single MENA country has an annual book fair that attracts many sellers, heck there was even a book fair in turkey for arab books a couple of months ago. This video is full of false information, it reached a comically annoying level. it was absolute hell watching this garbage (Again, respectfully.)

Depending on the specific state, and who runs it, the first hurdle to reading is in children's books, as you say. How can a parent read a book to their child at bedtime depicting a classic fairytale when there are prohibitions on images of people, or "unclean" animals (even if said animals are driving cars wearing clothes and shoes)? I'll venture that some nations are dragging down the averages by forcibg stricter prohibitions on the populace. Still, it's sad to think that thevArab world is years away from producing a Richard Scarrey or Stephen Gammel.

Was the Black man used to sell the video in a manner similar to the use of a beautiful woman to sell a product? Were you communicating that an Arab can be as Black as an African and still be indigenous to Arabia? My query is sincere. Im not trolling you. Im just curious.

My mother was illetrate. She expressed the wish to learn to write and read around the age of 40 or more. I remember it as a vague memory. My father could hardly read. He only read the Quran, he had this large old book with big letters. I still cherish it to this day, even though I'm agnostic. I started by reading the Quran myself, and it's a real treasure, despite what most of the comments are saying. Most of those who disrespect "holy" books don't know what they're talking about, they lack the curiousity and the tolerance to let themselves actually see and take advantage of reading such a well written book. Doesn't matter who wrote it. I had the chance of growing up with looking at our small library, never actually saw anyone holding a book in the family, except to study. My cousin used to tell me stories before bed, it planted the seed in me; I wanted to be able to enjoy more stories. At the time, I wasn't conscious about it, but books were the only thing I asked for when I was a kid, I never asked my parents to buy me something beside book, not even sweets. I realize now that, growing up, books were my haven. Now I speak a pretty good French thanks to books, a decent English thanks to movies and series..and of course Arabic. I had a very long break from reading, work, daily life, screen addiction.. It's so easy to let yourself drown in all of that. Last year I woke up from my slumber, and decided to read again. I had wished to read all Proust once, and I'm almost done, 10 pages a day. Modern life makes it so hard to read. This was such a long and boring comment, if you made it here, i appreciate your patience. 🤓

That UN report (conducted by liberal Arabs) that Spain translates more books into Spanish in a single year than Arabs have to Arabic in 1,000 years says everything. I taught English to immigrants, mainly from the Middle East. They were hard working, prudent, stressed education, family, civility, rules and almost all were successful (without government help) They could not understand Americans with all our advantages griping so much. We shared food and culture but books were NEVER a topic. Homes had religious "books" or pamphlets but a shelf (or in my case, library) of book did not exist. They were stunned at the shelves of books, silently taking in the various sections (sci-fi, history, religion, bio, science, food, etc) but fiction unrelated to religion or culture was "foreign" to them. Why did I have books on history when I "took history in school"? It was the most alien aspect - not a hostility but a comlete indifference toward books.

I live in an Arab country, my children are Arabs, I teach at a school full of Arabs. And they read. Granted, I haven’t met all of society, but most Arabs I’ve met do read. They read the Quran every day, which is reading. While some of them aren’t into reading novels, I don’t think this is an Arab problem. I was born and raised in America and raised by a grandmother obsessed with reading. While I easily read a book a week, people in America thought it was strange. My most vivid memory was moving into the college dorm and my roommates asking why I brought books. Not only did I bring books, but I checked them out of the library, too. A friend from high school excitedly showed me a movie and I was like, yeah, I read the book. She was flabbergasted. So, reading for fun isn’t as common even if the literacy rate is high.

Well, I’m beginning to understand some of the visible expression of Arabic literature. I have read some of the books by Solomon Rushdi 🤦‍♂️ I admit, it may be a translation issue. But honestly I haven’t the faintest idea what makes him popular. Of course it does make a bit of sense now. In western literature we had books known as the “penny dreadful” cheap books of dubious quality. This has continued on into what was called the “pulp fiction” era. The books sold based on their shocking content. 🤔 I suppose in that context Mr Rushdies work makes a lot of sense.

I actually glad that you brought point of other division. You should also include expulsion of muslim and hindus from Pakestan and India. Expulsion Germans from Poland and Checkoslovakia and etc. As for original plan, all Palestine was promissed to Jews, including territory of current Jordan, but later on Brits decided to back off. It was really very anti Jewish way to create partion, where already existed arab country for arabs of Palestine - Jordan. The fair and just way would be to transfer of arab population to Jordan. All your points of consession are misleading too. Jewish and English businesses created delivery of water, electricity and gas to population. The report just recorded reality. Big part of the territory that was allocated to Jews was Negev, which is desert. The Jewish state was created to resolve historical unjustice to Jews in West and Middle East. And what is most important, jewish elite had two different ways to approach relationship with arabs: one to have common country and second one to have country dominated by jews. The arabs elites had only one POV - no country for jews. You presentation takes parts out the context. And the most important view, the both sides considered partition as not satisfactory. But arabs rejected it and started war and jews accepted it and defended themselfes. The result of the war was that Jordan occupied Judea and Samaria, Egypt occupied Gaza. No one was building independent arab country in one of these territories. And since the plan was to destroy Jewish state, these lands were used to constant attacks. All of this could be avoided, if commision simply transfer arabs to Jordan and Egypt, or arabs accepted partition as is.

I would like to emphasize that the so called arabic numerals are from India. They went to Eurom via Arabia, which is in between. It's obvious that their astronomy knowledge is poor, evidently in the way that their calculation of one year is merely 355 days. The Islamic calendar, is based on the lunar cycle, so each month is either 29 or 30 days long. This makes the Islamic year about 11 days shorter than the Gregorian calendar or Hindu calender, each year.

IMHO, the final test is : what would happened with womens or human rights religion is supported by goverment or as alternative would society want religion to be supported by goverment. We can safely say that for most of Christian dominated nations , majority of religious people do not want goverment to support religioun. This is very significant, as majority of our rights is lies in the plane of our relationship with goverment. Someone could discuss India, which i skip here. Let see for moment Israel, which in tough spot, because Jews are ethno-religious community by definition. Israel is trying to balance it religious component with democratic one. But even the most religious people do not want imped on personal rights of non religious people or people from other religions. And let see what happened in muslim or muslim dominated countries. The basic personal rights are controled by religious POV and enforced by goverment. In the country where muslims are majority, and even in the west they try to enforce religion by goverment. Please do not talk about radicals. When white christian supremasist shot people in Pittsburgh, all christian communities decry this as crime and voiced support to victums and to the jewish community. Compare this to the reactions to Charlie Hebdo or Samuel Paty killings. Did we heard mass outcry from arabs or muslims? No! It is the most common and disengenious POV that ideas could be great, and it is just people do not get it right. Of course, Judaism and Christianity had practised denial of personal rights, but they long ago reinterpreted these POV. And we can see it as G-d revelation of goodness in men. Until muslim people do not outcry enforcement of religion on personal rights, until islam reformes so majority of muslims will recognise crimes against personal freedom and activly reject it, we are properly consider islam as source of evil. Same is applies to communism, natzism, maoism and etc. I do belive that islam has a chance, as opposite to other political utopias, but so far there only few people that try to trailblaze different way for islam.
