How to Cook(e)
США
Добавлен 19 июн 2019
How to Cook(e) w/Bill Cooke is a seriously not serious cooking channel. Pretty straight forward really. I have worked in restaurants and my passion for food has taught me even more over the years. These are just some of my favorite recipes and I thought I'd share them with you. Of course, my personality gets in the way sometimes so buckle up. This can get weird!
Now please forgive me, I suck at the camera thing and editing these videos has been challenging. I'm figuring it out slowly but I'm not a pro and it's just me so.... you can't expect much. As I edit the videos I see the humor in it and after crying a little inside I can poke fun at myself a little. Life would hardly be worth living if it weren't for humor! Food is about more than just survival, or at least it should be. If you can't laugh at yourself, someone else will do it for you! Eat, Laugh, Live, Repeat!

Grilled Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich with Spicy Remoulade Sauce
Просмотров 137Месяц назад
The Po Boy sandwich dates back to the 1929 street car workers strike in New Orleans when the Martin Brothers Restaurant started making cheap sandwiches for the 'poor boys in the street' who couldn't afford to eat. The strike lasted 4 months but the sandwich lives on and on. Originally called the Oyster Loaf, as it was filled with fried oysters and veggies. Fried shrimp was a natural progression...

bring back the CHILITO!
This was very good, thank you! Tipped you as well ha. Will be doubling this to vac-seal freeze some and have for whenever down the road for quick taco dinner. I kept a lid on during most of it and helped keep it even more moist and nothing stuck to my stainless pot.
Thanks!
Harry Mudd!
For making one pizza my 1/2 in wlmrt stone works great and gives me nice crispy browning all over the crust (with no need to turn the za half way) while only preheating for 30 minutes. 2 hours heating the steel seems way overkill to me.
best pizza in the whole world was Numero-Uno... my wife and i lived about 30 miles from the last one in existence and we would drive the 45 m in or so there a few times a year and they just recently closed and we were so bummed out... we always went to the original one on La Cienega in Los Angeles and it was amazing... I'm going to try your receipt today
The heinz origonal is not the same BBQ sauce that's on the western bacon. The heinz is the same as the packet they hand out. I have been on a years long mission to find the sauce on the western bacon. I think it's the Catlemans smoky base
I worked as a shift leader a Jack in the box from 1988-1994. I made hundreds of chicken supremes! As well as lots of other things that have been discontinued like the ham/iurkey melt, pizza pockets, beef Teriyaki bowls, triple cheeseburger sub (my absolute favorite), popcorn shrimp, gyros, and a sandwich that used mayo mustard sauce...lots of memories
Made this tonight, and it was perfect. It is exactly how we like our rice.
One of my all time favorites!! Gotta have the sprouts!! Thank you so much! ❤
Good attention to detail using a wheat bun!
No draining the grease
Just make the damn dough
Spoke to soon
it shouldn't post me over 5 bucks for just 2 value menu items. I remember when it was actually a dollar menu. thanks for this. gonna save me some money!
They came on a poppy seed bun, not whole wheat
Loaded tots :D
Hot damn. Well call me Susie while I sniff your crotch, that’s a good looking burrito
It's supposed to have less meat and more cheese.
I realized this video was made over a year ago, but I've had both sauces on the casadilla while in different places and states. however, I'm not sure if it's by mistake or not. because when I was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, the taco bell off post would only use the Chipotle in them, while now that im in Providence, RI, they only use the jalapeño. This has led me to personally believe that it is at management's discretion.
so in other words, just the basic recipe for taco meat that people have been using for decades? Sorry, thought I was going to see something I've never seen before. I guess everyone under the age of 40 will be amazed though
Hey thanks I loved those and the bacon cheeseburger supreme.
I will say everything I have seen you make looks out of this world!! I love to cook, you go way out there, I love it!! Thank you:)
Cooking without restraint has its perks.
Something I'd consider adding would be cumin red pepper flakes (toasted on a pan for a minute or until fragrant) chili powder oregano thyme chorizo (avoid precooked, it just isn't as good) a layer of tostatas as the first layer of the nachos
You had me at CHORIZO!!!!!!
This will be made for Alabama/Auburn game. ROLL TIDE!
Totchos 😂
Oh, my! I suspect that I've lost quarter of a pound, just from drooling while watching this video.
It took 3 hours from start to finish on this video. I was DIEING to eat this by the time it was done. I may have ended the video a bit soon just to dig in. My wife is now throwing nacho idea at me left and right. Fish nachos? Maybe not...
Hmm. Tuna Melt Nachos? But, with fresh tuna cooked and flaked, rather than canned, and a mixture of cheeses like Havarti or Muenster, or Gouda, mixed with a melty cheddar, maybe even dabs of stronger cheese like a bleu or gouda plopped strategically about. Pickles? Maybe, or pickled Jalapenos, perhaps... sort of a tartar sauce thing with just little bit of Miracle Whip or mayo to mix with the pickles or peppers?
Oh my god!!
I'd destroy that during a game bud. Suffering through another Cowboys game I'd need A LOT of beer first though 😂😂😂
The McDonald’s pizza is the pizza for you and me
Is this person pound?
This has become our standard pizza in our house. Thank you so much for making this video. I have a question about freezing it. Do you freeze it after doing the first 24 hours of fermentation or do you freeze it right out of the mixer?
So glad you like the recipe. I freeze mine straight out of the mixer. Then transfer to the fridge for 24 hours to ferment.
The Wendy’s by my house gets burger meat locally like right up the street from jacks fruit market i worked there years ago it’s fresh daily beef, abd the chili is made from the same meat the night before to prevent food waste, this guy has 0 idea what he’s talking about like whatsoever
Good for them. So, one wendys is good so all wendys are good? I don't remember bagging on the source of their meat, btw. Only that they keep the grill at too low a temp and it's a bad way to cook a burger. 350f is not hot enough. Also, Wendy's chili rocks!
👍
…reminds me of Shakey’s Pizza which hasn’t made it to Texas like “In n Out” hamburgers has, but thanks to you I can replicate good pizza!😊🤓
I love shakeys. It was our go to pizza growing up. I went down a rabbit hole with their recipe and found some very interesting things... that needs to be its own video soon!
Taco Bell filling is only 20 percent real meat and has trans fat. By all means use this recipe.
Over 30 years ago, sure. They got busted and now it is actual meat and zero trans fat. It still tastes like crap compared to their 60s/70s/80s recipe. This is based on that original one.
Are they any good
No!!!! I did a follow-up video. While the pans are well made and the non stick coating holds up better than any others in this price range, the problem is the short sides. Everything you cook ends up down the stove. They are a pain to cook in.
Vegan taco meat!!!!!!!!
I did that recipe too. TVP tastes really good for tacos!
🎉
AWSOMENESSS....
Love you video, great work and loved your "flicking the turd" 😂
This guy just hates teenagers
Nothing but love for the pimple farmers of the world. It's just a lot to ask of the still developing mind without proper instruction. LEGOS!
Yum looks awesome & I also really liked that during the ketchup part, you said Carl's Jr is psycho it made you look playful, down to earth, & funny, so I laughed & also subscribed. Food Network audition in your future???
Thanks so much. You are too kind
*Meximelts are back!!!*
Heck yeah! I got mine! They screwed it up... because taco bell
@@howtocooke it doesn't taste the same as it use to...they've done something different
Yup, they always mess it up somehow.
You said you updated your web site with these recipes and you said you would post the full avocado ranch recipe in the info section of this video. You did neither. I will not mix avocado with ranch dressing because I do not want the crap (soy for starters) that is in off the shelf ranch dressing. The reason people come to this video is because they want to MAKE the sauces themselves, not be referred to a off the shelf variety that is "close enough". Maybe this is why your channel is still struggling. Perhaps it should be named How to Get Taco Bell sauces by Buying Similar Products off the Shelf.
Ouch, that was mean... I have a new channel www.youtube.com/@drivethrukitchen, where I redid all these sauces the correct way and have full recipes in the description.
@@howtocooke It was not meant to be mean, it was constructive criticism. I am an avid home chef and open to learning. You advertise "how" to make "all" sauces, then tell people to buy something that is just as good. Or to hack a very unhealthy condiment to make the sauce. Then you say you have the recipes in the description, and you do not. How is pointing out discrepancies "mean". If you did everything you said you were going to do I would have subbed. I'll have a look at your new channel and maybe I still will. Ciao.
@@howtocooke Your link to your new channel has a typo. You forgot the hypen. Just me being mean again...
This guy is great!!! Entertaining and helpful with getting it right..🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
this recipe changed mah life thank yew
Do you add sawdust and dental rubber bands to make it authentic?
I've heard about Whataburger for 20 years or so. Never tried them because they are not here in the Northland. I do question your 53 seconds cook time for each side though. I will say though, lately I have been cooking burgers at home. Using freshly ground 80/20 beef. Mold into patties about 1/2 inch thick Need to trust your meat source. Cook on cast iron griddle for 4 minutes per side. Add toppings of choice and no burger can be better.
These burgers are 1/4 inch thick and the griddle is HOT. Like 450f and up. That gets you that great crust that tastes soo good! I timed it, I have cameras rolling you know. 63 seconds was perfect mid well and a nice crust
Why use MSG?
Taco bell does and MSG tastes great. It not bad for you either. Glutimates produce the umami flavor. It really does make it taste better.
