I am impressed. Now I want one!
Stock itself is amazing. Makes birch ones today look lame.
I don’t know why more of this design is not being made for hunting besides shot guns. Hands don’t move off trigger and front pump action, and with a lower recoil round, 10 shot clip-easy in and out, it would be both a hunting and tactical rifle, eyes and hands on target. It would be perfect for wild boar, coyotes, varmints, and probably less finicky compared to semi-automatic rifles.
This is James Earl Ray's rifle
I used to have the 742 Jam Master.
Almost seems like you fascinated with having a replica of JER’s rifle… But anyway, that’s one rifle I’d never own…
Thanks for the video. Brings back memories.
Best video on the internet of this rifle!
Hey Cat, just checking in with you. 8 months and no videos. Pray everything ok and that all is well. God bless.
Original 10/22 old school is Amazing rifle.
Never stick the mag back in while handling or cleaning
The 8mm Mauser/7.92 x 57js is a very underrated cartridge in the USA. It is very 30-06 capable AND recoils like the 30-06 stout recoil. Very capable hunting cartridge.
DIP products makes a sweet target trigger for the 795. Combined with a scope It helped the accuracy a lot.
I only have soft point 30-06, and whenever I chamber it into my gamemaster, it deforms the tip of the round. And sometimes even scratches or gouges the jacket. Does anyone else have this issue? And if so, how did you fix it?
Plz Close the gun carefully
Yeah, that mark on the stock didn’t exist, try again
I have the same rifle but my date on the barrel is completely different, it says "azz" if you could tell me what that means that'd be great.
There good but mostly a 870 stock trigger
Put a dovetail sight slug in that exposed rear sight dovetail, you can get one, a marbles for 6 bucks at midwayusa. makes the rifle complete.
That 200 yard group is 😢
Nice shooting! so a 25m zero (at the 2 mark) will be dead on for 200m? so whats the 1 used for? I know they shoot high because thire factory zero is 300m, mine is about 11" high @ 100m. Its a 1943 Izhevsk M38, all matching. Here in Ireland, these are rare because most shooters are .22LRs or shotguns, only deer hunters might have a .308, so there arent many war birds about.
Change your stupid intro... doesn't give the curiosity to watch more...
I've been on the fence about buying one of these but this video pushed me over the edge, just submitted my form .
Awesome! Very well put together, and done. Cheers!
Hey cat, just checking with you. haven't seen anything in 5 months. Pray everything ok with you.
Tolle Büchse
I'd give my left nut for one of those in .300 Savage. I l;ove the corn cob fore end. Matches my 53 Rem 870 20G.

Once upon a time, when I was young, I had the chance to get for myself an M98 German Mauser while the getting was good, but in my infinite wisdom I passed it up! And I am still tempted to bash myself in the nose for that!!
Robinson Maria Martinez Barbara Johnson Patricia
FNM ,8x57 ammo
I bought one in an auction that was in a lot with a few other bb guns. The gun was missing most of the parts, so I ordered parts and rebuilt the rifle. It is a great shooting gun now, use it for plinking and shooting targets off my deck. Nice little accurate rifle.
Best bear defense gun on the planet. Hell, I'd say best truck gun on the planet too. It's lightweight, handy, easy to use, very tactile action. Faster than a bolt action and with some polymer furniture from Monte Carlo stocks, a better go anywhere take out everything rifle than any lever action. I'd honestly have this rifle with me if ever I went to Africa as a defensive weapon. Same thing for Alaska and everywhere in between. That right there is actually the beauty of this rifle, it's a 50 state legal gun that the commies still don't want you to have. Something this powerful will be needed in the battles yet to come.
I also own this model year ‘53. I purchased it from my father’s old hunting buddy as my first rifle. I still use it to this day and I wouldn’t part with it. Harvested many deer with it and also created priceless memories for me .
I own two now, the first i got in a pawn shop, and she was all beat up, but I recently picked one up last night and plan on sighting in today! this one is beautiful and i can tell it was taken care of
It was my first rifle. My Dad gave it to me for my 9th Bday in 1963. A little heavy for a small statured 9yr old but it's safe and reliable. It's still in the safe and will be passed down to my grandson.
❤❤
Canada has one of the coolest service rifles, and one of the lamest political climates that hamstring citizens from owning firearms
I'd be curious to see how she performs further out, 300, 400, 500, etc. Have you done any shooting with this zero at those ranges?
Beatfuil rifle excellent shooting, I have seen a cz 455 fs for sale it's mint only thing putting me off is that the nose cap is plastic is the 452 nose cap also plastic if so how is it holding up is it easy to break tks
Looks good on thing you need is the 3rd hole for fun😂
Did you do a Joe Biden at 2:07?
I really want a cmp m1, but I especially want a wwII model. Is there any way to guarantee I get a wwll garand by mail order?
No guarantee 🫤 , but doesn't hurt to put a post-it note request!! Good luck!
@@HangInThereCat I’ve heard of that I think I’ll give it a try, do you know when they might get their rack, rack + and service grades back in stock? It says sold out for all grades except expert, some 762 nato models and display models…
I’ve never seen the C7 be handled with such care before, it also would’ve been pretty funny if you had gotten the crappy folding grip that’s a different shade of Diemaco OD
Yuo!!@ lol. They are expensive too! Thanks for watching!
if my mosin is not cut out for pu scope i cant put one on?
I wouldn't! I prefer as-is! Thanks for watching 😀
Is that the standard front sight for this contract type? I find the open Mauser sight is best to distinguish the target object (Not paper target) As opposed to the .303 Post type as it kinda blocks the view making it harder to locate eg target blends in with background and you need to recheck target a few times where the Open top K98 Sight you don't need to keep rechecking ya aim. I especially loved the 7.7 Arisaka peep sight with the Notch for 100m shots. It was a lot of fun! Nice shooting btw.
I believe it is a contract type, how it came from the factory. Yes the 7.7 Arisaka peep is excellent!!! Hoping to get my other Arisaka out to the range in the future! My range has been under construction for couple of months now! Thanks for watching!
@@HangInThereCat The Mauser and Arisaka are great fun to shoot. The Mosin M91/30 Not so much if ya not 6ft with broad shoulders. they kick hard and the location of the scope makes you lean forward which then makes the Buttstock sit awkward on ya shoulder. That front sight you have on that thing is odd. Yeah how weird are the Stamps on that k98 N what's with the 'P' stamps It's Luftwaffe early Lam stock so perhaps that's something to do with it. Has me stumped. There's also what looks like a downward pointing arrow with ss runes. N the skull isn't the totenkopf style but more Symetrical human style. I have a German Law book from 1935 that has that exact same skull in it, Only now I need to translate Germanic Gothic script. Lol. I'll have to keep an eye out on ya channel for when ya get the Arisaka out. I'd love to see a doco on how the Japs Chromed the Bores on the 7.7 To prevent rusting. The 6.5 I had had a large bulge near the end and it'd throw rounds off by a foot at 25 yards. Didn't know till i cleaned it. In fact it actually shot not too bad at first. Once I cleaned it the chunk became more pronounced. Cheers from Oz mate! Have a Good one!
Nice rifle man. My K98 Has this VZ style sling loops made During ww2 added to it. The Upper handguard matches the Wood stock only the lower Band, band spring, and Bolt are a MM It's a Waa623 Steyr Marked Band with the added swivel sling on it. The rear swivel loop is unmarked. Both are well made the welded swivel on the band is done very well the rear swivel is Carved out a little crudely. Check out my vid on it n tell us what you think. Many weird stamps on it. Including a soviet style star on the barrel. :/
That is a nice K98K S/42 you have! Interesting marks especially the Skull! Appears to be SS markings - www.k98kforum.com/threads/skull-markings-on-a-98k.41321/ - Love the history of these rifles, good and bad! Yours is very unique!! Very cool! Thanks for watching and sharing!
I just purchased one of these based on your recommendation. Got one with the Monte Carlo stock. I don't see any serial numbers on mine. I willl probably do a little trigger work later but am learning to shoot it as is right now. Seems pretty accurate.
Nice!!! Congrats!!
I was visiting a buddy of mine in Arkansas and bought one in a pawn shop in the late seventies you shot a bunch of squirrels I saw one squirrel that was hanging on to the limb by its hand it would not let go put this little gun with iron sights took his arm off at the wrist. I found one later and will never sell it.
Nice! Pretty good shooting considering their wrists are very small!!! They are exceptional rifles! Thanks for watching !
I a lot of ways, the rope hole Type-99's are more valuable that pristine 99's, as you said, the rifle speaks for what kind of formidable enemy the Japanese were, they were Tuff people, I believe that most hardened solders were the Japanese dug in, rice bowl, one hand grenade and their rifle. Btw, I don't know if you ever considered using cast bullets that you make yourself, however, they are cheap and a affordable way of enjoying your old surplus rifles with less ware and tare on them, you use lower pressures as far as powder, it's also a way where you can use one mold to feed many rifles in your collection, I use an NOE 213 gr bullet mold that I size the bullet to .314 to shoot out of my Lee Enfield No 4 Mk-2, I get 2 inch groups at 200 yards with them, that same bullet can be sized for the Russian 7.62 X54 or the Type 99 Japanese. it keeps you well stocked with Ammunition at a very affordable cost. plus, you become less reliant on store bought bullets along with their high price. just a suggestion - Dave
I have thought about casting my own in the past , but decided not to move forward 🫥 I have another Type 99 in better shape, but really like my RH more. I'll probably never shoot it again 🫤 . I'm probably the only one risked shooting one! Appreciate your comment! Thanks for watching!
