I know of guys with rifles costing a couple grand that only dream of 1/2" groups. At 200, not sure what was going on with the first two shots, but the last 8 were simply "deadly". What a wonderful 91/30 sniper you have. Probably the second most underrated rifle of the war, only to the Carcano. The Mosin 91/30, M44, and M38 are some the most solid designs and battle rifles ever made. Especially when one keeps in mind that that is what they were designed for.....trench warfare......the nastiest, dirtiest, test of a rifle ever encountered. 5 for 5 steel plates is more than impressive. Congratulations on a fine piece.
Thanks @EastTexan! Those first two were all me, lol. I was very surprised on how well she shot with steel case, and curious how they would do at farther distances. The last steel target really got my nerves going, never got 5 out of 5 in all my videos, and my heart was pounding like crazy, very happy was able to complete in my first attempt! I'm really happy with PU Sniper, now I need to find another range that goes out to 600 yards! ;)
I absolutely love my Mosin’s, they are my favorite to handle and shoot. My PU is a 1943 Izhevsk and it shoot very nicely also. Your rifle is very nice and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine. I realize that we are not in a war situation… but I would emphasize this… It’s the first or single cold bore shot that actually counts the most with a “sniper” variant. On an average day of 68° it should be fired 1 shot with a 20 minute break then 1 shot-wait 20 min… 1 shot-wait 20 min… and so on…. I completely understand the allure of shooting consecutive rounds… but the cold bore is the “1st” and that would count most when you have been laying in wait for hours or days… miss that shot by 8 inches and your quarry is free and you may never gain that opportunity again.
Mosin are too among my favorites 😀 I understand your point of the cold bore shot and agree 👍 especially for a rifle like this. However, the format of my YT series, regardless of rifle type, I shoot the 10 rounds consecutively, so I have the data and know what the rifle can do. I appreciate you watching and pointing this out 😀. She can definitely do a lot better that what I can shoot 😎
Thank you!! Ammo is "Ulyanovsk Cartridge Works" ulnammo.com - (J-SC "The Simbirsk Cartridge Works") MPN#: U7.62x54. Bought from MidwayUSA in 2017 at www.midwayusa.com/product/1018275577?pid=355874. Thanks for watching!
I would make sure the screws that need to be torqued are properly torqued, so you would have to do the research for your particular scope and mount for that information. Sorry couldn't be much help, take a visit at gunboards.com in the Mosin section. Good luck!
I believe you can, but that will change the bullet impact significantly. You would have to just re-zero again. Mosins are my favorite milsurps ;) Especially my Chinese Type 53 - ruclips.net/video/-mt9Sew9iwg/видео.html Thanks for watching!
Russian snipers were not issued a bayonet.Sniper barrels are made for accurate shooting and were special runs at the two factories. They are marked accordingly.

I agree about iron sights, but this looks pretty good with a scope, and considering it's history .
Very happy with my PU! Thanks for watching!!!
That is an awesome rifle, great buy. By the way, what ammo were you shooting?

I was just informed it is rebadged Tulaamo and confirmed it ulnammo.com/pso/7_62x54rfmj/
I have a fake one, with repro scope mount and scope. How do you keep the screws from getting loose and mess with the zero?
I would make sure the screws that need to be torqued are properly torqued, so you would have to do the research for your particular scope and mount for that information. Sorry couldn't be much help, take a visit at gunboards.com in the Mosin section. Good luck!
Use the Blue locktite and torque to spec or tight.
if my mosin is not cut out for pu scope i cant put one on?
I wouldn't! I prefer as-is! Thanks for watching 😀
My question is can you attach a mosin bayonet to the pu sniper or not i love mosins and i hope to get on someday
