7/8/24 - It looks like the neighborhood skunk babies are now old enough to travel around foraging for food with their mom and our birdfeeder is on her food trail. Giving birth in the spring, female skunks are entirely responsible for raising their young. After giving birth, she moves and digs a new den to raise her kits without the male. During the first six weeks of their lives, baby skunks ar...

VIDEO - WARNING GRAPHIC - 7/11/24 This is raw nature video of a Great Horned Owl catching his meal for the night. The Great Horned Owl silently comes out of the darkness to capture his target. There is also response from a nearby rabbit and some very impressive ...
Green Heron fishing

To my eye, it was so dark this green heron look like little more than a dark grey shape against the green swamp vegetation, but my video and photographs were able to bring out the detail and color. His intense focus and lightening fast reflexes captured a half dozen fish while I watched.

This is why I drive 2000 miles every spring and hiked 36 miles during my 4 day stay in the Smoky Mountains in May, 2023. There are few moments in life as natural, innocent and satisfying as watching newborn wildlife playing and enjoying their world as it was meant to be. It's a privilege and honor to observe the natural activity of black bears in the wild. I never take it for granted and am ver...
Little critters in their secret world

While sitting on the ground watching for foxes, day after day I would see this little fella run out, grab a seed and disappear. I finally decided I was going to try to get a video clip, but no matter how long I waited with my iPhone in place, he would not show himself. On the third day, he finally came out!

Eastern Cicada Killer Wasp digging tunnels

The adult Eastern Cicada Killer Wasps lead a short, but active life. Almost like clockwork they begin emerging from the earth in late July. This giant 2 inch long wasp has a seemingly impossible job to do and wastes no time getting started. After selecting a suitable nesting site, typically in the same general area from which she emerged, the female wasp begins a vigorous excavating project, di...

The threatening osprey did not respond, so the male left the nest to pursue...

Northern Harrier stealing prey from Short-eared Owl in midflight! Total time, 1 second!
Found an owl in my bathroom once , still don't know how it got there.
I'm wondering why the skunk didn't fart on the owl.
Great footage!
Thanks!
Owl ain’t worried about being sprayed? Savage!
Always wondered what if anything ate skunks…
Must of been desperate
Checks and Balances...😊
The family of owls are waiting for daddy owl to bring in the dinner. Father owl finally arrived at his home (inside the tree) Every owls was putting on a fake smile. "Food is here" mother owl shouted. The father owl left the food (dead 🦨) and smiled & says "I'll be back with other foods" before he left. The family of owls weren't happy with the food in front of them. Finally the young owl of six came to his oldest brother, and asks him "how come everybody is unhappy with the food that are father has brought us? Til (oldest owl) reply: That's b/c were eating 💩 for dinner!!
I have 3 near me, people need to see them in person, those things are huge, and they like to look at you too, I'm like let me go back in the house
Yes, they sure are! I've been very close to them.
Great Horned Owls are fierce predators and one of the few predators that will consistently eat skunks. They even will kill a Red-Tailed Hawk for their nest. I know birds of prey don't really have a great sense of smell. So it does make sense.
His boy didn’t want that smoke
This, youtube!! Thank you!!! That was incredible, cuz you know that skunk saw absolutely nothing coming.
That dave chapelly soundbyte "Gotcha" would be perfect rn
Nah, videos are better without all that shittt.
Didn't exactly took off with it.....too heavy
Not too heavy. Owl is wet from a downpour. Owls wings don't shed water like other birds. Great Horned Owls can easily carry 2-3 times their own weight. That baby skunk is nothing.
@@EveretRegal wow!!! .....that is impressive 👍
it was sending a message
"The reality is that man is by far the biggest, cruelest, most relentless killer on the planet...Wildlife take life to survive and little if any goes to waste." Really? Cats will not only kill anything that moves, they will make a game of it. Dogs will kill any animal that they come across. Ants frequently go to war with not only other ant colonies but termites as well and considering there are 2.5 million times more of them than us, we can safely say that ants have taken more lives than humans ever will. Murder hornets regularly slaughter entire colonies of tens of thousands of bees just because they're competition. A variety of viruses and bacteria kill millions of humans and animals each year though it's not only completely unnecessary but detrimental to themselves to kill off their host. Etc. And zero animals beside humans feed and care for other animals purely out of altruism.

Must have a clogged beak!
A great horned owl took my cat...many years ago.
We had owls in our Farm Barn Many rodent carcasses, always sad when saw it was a house cat carcass
Where did they go?
That poor owl is going to regret that meal🤣🤮👎🦨
Came in hot... that rabbit is lucky he wasn't on the menu.... then his little homie made a small attempt to help but...
Rabbit booked outta there and his homie tried to help but Owl said your next on menu so he left
Who..........
Ayoooo the way the owl is began to sit then stand on his prey looking in every directing like no one is coming to save you and if they do you’re still coming with me bruh!!!!
“ Damn nature you scary “
Damn, nature scary as 💩
Owl this meat stinks 😮
Birds of Prey don't have a great sense of smell. Great Horned Owls are one of the few consistent predators of skunks.
Every once in a while in the forest you’ll come across bone filled ‘puke’ a pellet under a tree. The owl eats everything and then throws up the bones and indigestible items later. If you find one that smells like a skunk you know where it came from!
Them eyes 👀 in the darkness
"Good morning, Mr. Owl. I'm sorry but we're going to have to ask you to leave the coffee shop. The other animals are beginning to complain."
Big stank owl be thinkin that rabbit smelled better
Bro's breath is gonna be a nightmare on date night...😂
Wow
That second serving came with a nice garnish! But seriously, wonderful videos, thank you.
I think the thing at :23 is a rabbit who was running the wrong way
Bro im so glad to be a human.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The owl is like wtf is that smell! 😂😂😂
Birds of prey don't have a great sense of smell and Great Horned Owls are one of few predators that naturally eat skunks.
Owl: “ trust me! it taste better than it smells”
When you hear screaming in the woods it's usually an Owl eating a small mammal.

The moth man we got huge ones in WV. But let everyone believe moth man . Brings money. 😊
Yuck. Makes me want to buy the poor thing a box full of mice, it must have been desperate for food!
pssst owls don't have that good of smell. they make up for it in vision and hearing
Skunks bodies don’t smell… the smell comes from a gland under their tail, the attack happened so fast his main defense was useless.
@@andrewft31 Was wondering about that, figured the attack was so fast along with the stun from the impact, the skunk didn't have a chance to "spray" or release. Have to marvel at the owl's prowess and precision.
Does the owl have no sense of smell?
Very limited sense of smell.
@@EveretRegal I like to believe I'm well educated on wildlife but I keep learning new things, thank you
At least the other Skunk tried to help even though I think it found the Owl by accident but after seeing what it was holding it really tried to help out the other one to no avail, hindsight the didn't even know Owls ate Skunks!.
Helper skunk got skunked.
If you’ve ever had a skunk get in your henhouse, you can really appreciate this.
lmao skunks kill hens. never knew that. can tell when a skunks in your block they smell so god damn bad

😂
Now they call him the stinky of the skies 😂
Taco Bell equivalent for that owl🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Going to be one stinky owl. 😂
They have the highest successful kill ratio of any predator.
no, thats dragonflies. Perhaps they have the highest kill ratio for birds? Edit: i looked that up and still no
Don’t know where they rank but I heard a deep hooting sound one night outside my bedroom window followed by a swoosh and quick squeal then silence all within a 10 second window. Those things are effective at what they do.
Wild Dogs?
The black footed cat is up there
Well it dropped slightly for that one after due to stench
It's a cruel world.
A fearsome predator
I guess that weird saying is true. " so hungry I can eat the ass off a skunk". 🤮
