Steve & Otis sang with me on Tranquility Island. In fact, that photo of Steve & Otis, I believe I took. After the World closed, we did shows at North DeKalb Mall. It was there that a sign on the bulletin board that said they were holding auditions for the Hensons. I showed Steve the sign & told him to call. The rest is history. I moved to Nashville to continue perform. Haven’t seen Steve since then but am so proud of him

I always thought how cool they looked like. This was also around the time when I saw the gangster SpongeBob or gangster loony toons printed on tee shirts getting really popular.

Here, I'm noticing Steve Whitmire has a similar cadence to Jim Henson. And he respects Jim Henson's original ideas. The lineage is noticeably lost and it makes the productions slightly hard to view.

Acoustics are everything for the ambient mood created. Most public places like this never even consider acoustics. The afterthought of sound deadening the building brought the cost way up. Probably should have started smaller to work out the kinks of the rides etc. and farther away from Six Flags.

What about Gumby? Those Christmas specials? I remember the California Raisins. There are tons of creators who work on projects, but usually only one gets all the credit: Walt Disney, George Lucas, Gene Roddenberry, Stan Lee, Bob Kane, Jim Henson, Tim Burton, etc.

It's really sad that a concept like this was never attempted again after 1976 for a pretty understandable reason. For a month, future Muppet puppeteer Steve Whitmire brought his puppet Otis and talked to visitors visiting the building when he was a young teenager.

Enjoyed the video but disagree on the graphics, at the time it was pretty amazing. A futuristic city you could run around, running at up to 1024x768 with pedestrians and shops you could enter... it was pretty epic to me at least. GTA3 was still a couple of years away at the time. The FPS sections were terrible though, even at the time. I think if you played it at the time, you'd feel the nostalgia and joy for it that many of us feel. I can accept though, that coming at it now (or even 4 years from now when you made this video), it would be a struggle. A product of the time I guess.

There was also a park called Kingdoms 3, closed down around the same time. Atlanta in the mid-70’s was just not the safest-seeming city. Given a later opening who knows these parks may have succeeded.
