I was looking at my aunt’s old stuff and saw a “pin up” for “Sad Girl.” I was interested in her design and backstory, it says she morns over her lost boyfriend. It’s very cool to see these characters and personalities! Very inspirational 💜✨
😳----as popular as these homies were back then, I'm surprised that they did not make a tv series or a movie of homies. i think that would haved been cool to do
@@petecarter5170 wow really where. Also I hope it's a animation series similar to Aqua Teen Hunger Force where we don't have a plot and just focus on the characters
I once went to a laundromat to get change for quarters. The guy asked if I had a lot of laundry, I told him no, it’s for homies. I emptied the homies machine that day and went looking for more. I was obsessed with them so I moved on to posters, large editions, mijos, dog pound, clowns, palermos and trading with friends.
I was around 12 back in 2004 and The Homies were really popular at my school in Houston Texas. I had the posters and a couple figurines. Thanks for making this video, I wondered what happened to them.
My dad still has a couple of the first series figurines. I told him they go for more than what they're sold for, and he was very surprised. He usually displays them with his lowrider models.
Literally $50 for a full set of the first series Lol. Only 6 figurines in the first series, but they’re in a sealed unopened package I’m about to order it off EBay just hope it’s not fake xc. Been collecting nostalgic stuff for when I get a place and remembered these when I was at the mall and saw a homies face mask, bought that too lol.
If Homies promote gangs why wouldn't army men promote wars? Good argument for the court candy promotes obesity? I loved Homies collection and I never wanted to be a gangster...
Thank you so much for making this video!! Literally just yesterday Homies popped up into my mind as I was driving. I've seen the doc about the Homie vending machine worker, nice to see another feature! I still have all my Homies:)
Thank you so much for this video and for your amazing research. These randomly came to my mind recently like nostalgia does you get older and your brain remembers things. I tried to talk on fb about it but knowone acknowledged. I'm just obsessed with them now so your video was awesome.
I came across my old collection from 15 years ago. I have all sets from series 1-9. They stopped making them at series 12 and now I’m trying to restart collecting them again! Idk what it is about these figures, they’re so cool.
I've got an original vending machine homies display with the parachute homies in it still sealed, value lies somewhere around $150 to $200 currently for the sealed display
They still make them so vending machines need to put them in machines again, so many companies would make a lot of money if they brought back the toys we love and hunt for online. Homies, Original Pokémon Toys, cards, games and merchandise, Street Sharks original look toys and puppets and Primal Rage toys and games.
Damn this unlocked such a deep forgotten memory. I lived in Maywood, Cali and I remember seeing these figures in the quarter machines in a labanderia mi jefa and I went to when I was a kid. I always thought how cool they looked like. This was also around the time when I saw the gangster SpongeBob or gangster loony toons printed on tee shirts getting really popular.
I used to have all the homies, I literally started working at a laundromat right infront of my house at the age of 10 in Houston, just sweeping and mopping for the older lady who owned it. She paid me $7 dollars a hour and I would get about two to three hours every weekend. She had a homie machine and I would literally exchange my cash I made for quarters and spend it all on Homies. I used to make houses for the Homies out of my dads 24 pack cases of beer 😂😂 damn this brought back so many memories.
You be walking with la jefa in the bodega and see the vending machine with the homies, you knew that whole boring grocery shopping was about to be worth it
I still have 2 zip lock baggies stuffed full of them myself. I love them and still do. And I plan to keep them forever. They are a big part of my childhood and I think that now days, there's no real way to get them besides rebuying them from people. You can't get them from vending machines anymore. And I'm hoping one day, they will be worth some money. Maybe in a hundred or 200 years from now. I haven't taken them out in 20 years and they look amazing and I even have the bobble headed joker and other ones. It's super dope.
How do we look up the ones we still have? They don't really have serial numbers. I tried ebay and other market places, and Wikipedia, but nothing is specific. I have no many from my childhood. But I don't know their names anymore.
This one guy I used to know he collected alot of homies and modles of lowriders its hella sick I see them alot in East Side San Jose at Eastridge Mall at a toystore has all of them check it out
when my daughter asked what they were and I said little Mexicans you could get out of the gumball machine LOL oh my goodness the look of confusion on her face and I was like TOYS! tiny little Mexican figurines that were the coolest freaking things ever! 😂
yo thank you deadass i’m smacked asf but your video is underrated asf and i’ve been trying to figure what that movie was in the back on my head 💀💀 i fucked with victor vargas
I don't think homies was ever around here in westvergina this is the first time I've heard of them I was watching a homie video of Icp and this popped up I'll be on the look for them at flee markets never know what you will find
Ah I remember homies they popped into my head a few weeks ago. I'm from West Texas and growing up in the late 90s early 2000s they were everywhere and really popular with the Mexican kids I grew up around then they seemed to just disappear. I always thought they were cool looking had a few. I doubt they'd sell well these days it would be offensive or something idk I thought they were cool but that's just me I'm not easily offended.
I saw them at my uncle's freinds house around 2009-2011 homies laying around all over the place and Mexican music blasting I was 4-6 good times I never owned them but I wanted to
Homies. We need those back on vending machines.
