That was extremely explained, and sums up the franchise's tragic story in bittersweet details. You really sound professional and I love the montage style of your videos. I am very grateful you featured me and you're welcome on the help I gave you, anything for #BDRevolution #BlazingDragonsRevolution !
Someone clearly put a lot of time and research into this and I think it's great! Also good to see that Ms. Startari got some recognition for her work to re-popularize the show in recent years! However, I do think a few things could have made it better. 1) I think the people from the early fan base on the live journal website (circa 2006) who were instrumental in re-starting the fandom should also be mentioned: Marc (I forget his last name just now, but he was a skilled illustrator), the person who went by the name tyciol (I think) who I seem to remember created the wikia page that became the Fandom website today. They did a lot of the early leg work and communicated directly with Nelvana (and received replies) regarding their attempts to start up a central fan community. 2) I think Sir Flicker's Brother Mine story and its sequels on wattpad at least deserve an honorable mention! They're witty, hilarious, absolutely brilliant and feel like real episodes of the show. They probably did a lot to keep the ball rolling in the mid-2010s and inspired a lot of fans. Was interesting to read his recent interview. There were also the virtual season 3 episodes on the Weebly website by Rosey Collins and Jake Collins even earlier than that! Those brought a storytelling arc and a new perspective to fan works for the series which were previously more of an episodic format. So, as you can see, the history of the evolution of the fandom of the show is almost as interesting as the history of the show itself. Perhaps you can do a follow up video on the history of the fan movement to re energize the show and get it back on the air? It really speaks to the love there is for this series out there. PS. If you are looking for a further source for trivia on the show, there seems to be quite a bit up per Blazing Dragon's episode on TV.com
I came across this video earlier today due to Terry Jones' tragic passing and this was such a well thought our video to a point where I even learned some new things! I was introduced to the show from a friend of mine and really came to love it, imo its probably the most underrated cartoon of all time and that's saying a lot really. I was also thankful to meet natacha and I love her passion for the show! Great video!
Like many, I was not aware the series existed - until I stumbled upon it on Tubi, over 25 years after it debuted. I'd add lack of marketing/promotion as a factor in its demise. I've enjoyed MP since the early 70s -and I'm not quite dead, yet.
Was nice and well researched! Surprised it did not mention the "Brother Mine", "Inn-cident", or "Picture for a Frame" stories on wattpad...I think those did much to revive interest in this series...and they go back to 2015!
I LOVE Blazing Dragons. I bought it on amazon as soon as it was released for streaming, because I remembered how much I loved it on Toon Disney back when I was growing up. It’s such a shame that budget cuts made them change the animation and proper marketing wasn’t there. I would love a follow up season...I feel like Amazon would be great since they already sell the first two. Or someone like Netflix. I have no power at all but if I can help the movement I will gladly! This show is so clever and funny and the characters and plots were always a great time! Even a movie adventure with as much of of the same voice cast as possible would be great. I really wish it would have a dvd release as well. My favorite episode was ‘The Stone of Wisdom’ from season one. Was there a reason Sir Hot Breathe and Sir Galahot only appeared in season one? Was that due to budget cuts as well?
Unfortunately I didn't get much info pertaining creative decisions for season 2. The budget was so tight for season 2 though, I think it's safe to say that removing a couple of characters saved money by reducing the load on artists and eliminating the need for more voice actors. Glad to hear you're a fan and down to support the cause! Thanks for watching!
