Platinum was the peak of Gen 4. In Gen 5, Cynthia stated that the profagonist reminds her of the trainer who faced Giratina referencing the events of Platinum so Platinum is also the canon events of Gen 4.

What’s with the filter on some of the Sun and Moon gameplay?

The paralysis and Confusion nerfs bother me because they're twofold and therefore feel overkill. Lowering the accuracy of Thunder Wave and nerfing the speed drop of paralysis are fine nerfs, but both stacked ontop of each other is just needlessly cruel. Not as bad as what they did to confusion for the sins of Swagger. Making the hit chance 33% makes the status virtually unviable. The move reminder in Gen 7 also allows you to learn future moves that the Pokemon would naturally learn at higher levels. An excellent feature for certain Pokemon like Volcorona and certain formats like Little Cup, but it would be a bit too good if you got access to it too early. Still, I do understand the gripe because it really does compound the evolution issues that the original Sun and Moon have

My biggest problem is the horrible and boring pokemon you get at the start. Just some stupid regional birds, bugs and sentret (which would be cool but of course furret's poor stats just make it a pain to use. The only two Pokemon that even remotely interest me in the early game are gastly and mareep, but not being able to get gengar is a problem because of the limited movepool and ampharos again has no movepool. It's just painful and boring as hell. Seriously, people who think these games are the best are delusional. They are terrible. Doesn't help that Johto is by far the blandest and most boring region in history. It's just Kanto but worse in every way possible. And the gym leaders are second worst after Kalos. Falkner alone is the worst gym leader in all of Pokemon.

I came across this video and 4.5 is quite nonsensical. I get that everyone has there own taste. Some people want to I win and best the game easily in 2 hours, some want a long slow game value the adventure and time vs money spent on entertainment. The reason why HG SS is the most beloved is because it truly is one of the best pokemon games, if not the best. Only other good pokemon games are black and white 2, platinum, and the originals are good at being a simple game. If hg and ss are a 4.5 then sword and shield are a 0.0000001 out of 10. People are going to hate for no reason. The fact its loved by the most people as number one proves it is number one, unlike your let's go evee and pikachu. The people have voted hg ss the best, as much as you want it not to be, you need to accept it cause while hg and ss has faults, so does every pokemon game.

I also like sun and moon. Was my first Pokémon game and I still love playing through them, I actually went and checked and I have 350 hours on Pokémon Ultra Sun.

Unreal to have finally played Pokemon Emerald, Platinum, White 2, Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition, Persona 5 Royal, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. Ahhh so many freaking remakes it's driving me wild but in a good way

I loved all the side quests, like the lost pokeball and the alolan vulpix. You didn't mention that you can pet the interactable pokemon if you talk with them enough, and then when they see you, they'll run up to you and show a little heart emote ❤. Shoutout to the Rockruff putside Iki town.

I played every mainline series game over the last couple years and USUM was hands down my favorite games. I loved these games and it was such a shock to me that they had so much hate. It really seemed like these were the last games GF really put everything they had into a release and the fans really didn't appreciate it. We haven't gotten anything on that level since.

This video puts a lot of my exact thoughts on this game in to words. I think its a bit over rated, but I still think its the best game in the series over all. (I think Super Mystery Dungeon does many things better, but it has issues of its own that hold it back). I think EoS has some real pacing issues with its main story and especially its post game story due to all of the boring filler days. I also hate how bad the party member ai is, and that you have to grind IQ it make your party member not completely useless dipshits. You're also one of the few people that I've found thats shares my sentiment that (*spoilers*) Grovyle Dusknoir and Celebi reappearing at the end of special episode ruins a lot about the ending of Special episode 5. I personally liked the team charm special episode a lot though. It was fun and light-hearted even if it didn't really expand on the plot all that much.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. To the story, the music, and the pixelated sprite designs, you can’t go wrong, and the nostalgia just adds to it. However, the one thing I will always HATE about this game is how they don’t have Arceus in the game. I feel like the Arceus Statue at the end of Destiny Tower is a big slap in the face. Like you’re telling me after ALL that hard work, I’m getting a Statue that gives a Space Globe? Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice item, but come on. And it makes the Generation 4 National Pokédex for the game incomplete. And you know he’s supposed to be in the game because Judgement is coded in the game so I’m not sure what the problem was. Other than that the game is phenomenal

Finally someone who understands! Pokémon USUM is hated so much online. I almost never see people defending it anymore. The games have their problems (Ahem, the Cutscenes) but overall they are just so fun, and in my opinion, a huge improvement over sun and moon

If you look at it as a stand alone game and ignore all the controversy behind it it’s objectively better then some older pokemon games such as yes red and blue

Idk why im leaving a review here but there it is. Saw some reviews saying PLA is better than Scarlet/Violet, everywhere i looked it said "PLA is amazing!" got it and played whole morning, and "spoiler" i realised game is never gonna get good... aparently there is a battle tower kind of thing after story that i cant be bothered to look up. 1st of all i apsolutely loved start of the game, this early world setting, setting up camp kind of deal and making impact on town progression, getting mons,mats and quests/requests are fine in my opinion, . Then i got to a part where i realised there is litteraly no battling even with competative move customization, everything youre doing is just throwing balls at random things in a half empty/full world and that is litteraly the extent of gameplay. Game is nothing but a very grindy demo test for their new game type, models and their 3D engine... Story is nice altho it can be a LOT of reading at times that can start feeling burdensome. Personally the lack of any battles makes the game pointless in my opinion becuse you have no real point to getting mons other than completing a list and im very very disappointed i got this game to get a grindy chore simulator, i dont play games to get home and do chores, get on a game and do more chores...Game is on a same level to Pokémon Snap to me, this is for someone who has too much time on their hands and doesnt respect it. They can like that, but my opinion stands

I’m glad to see someone ripping into these games as they are some of my personal least favourite Pokémon games and have many flaws people love to ignore.

I think you need to do a better job explaining your reasoning because you say a lot of subjective things objectively like they’re objective things. Most notably I have no idea what you consider good/bad amounts of grinding you said you thought some of the EV training stuff made grinding too easy but then you complained about every other grind being too much throughout the video.

I had fun with these games. I especially loved the big spectatle of the gym battles. The games are certainly not perfect, but no pokémon games are. I think in time people will appreciate these games like they did with black and white

The game while not perfect has tons of good ideas that need to keep realised in the franchise.

I just realised that Crystal is the ONLY third game to not change gym leader teams. Definitely a huge missed opportunity

Another issue with the split path, is there is 100% a logical route to take because you get Fly after defeating Chuck. This saves you a tonne of backtracking. Interestingly, they nailed the split pathing in the first gen. I've played gyms 6, 7 and 8 in Yellow in different orders, for example, and it doesn't break the game. In contrast, there really is no reason to defeat Pryce before Chuck, aside from preventing Pryce from being a joke.

My three problems with the main game plus the DLC: 1 - there is no battle facility at the end. I only play solo so having accessing to all these cool things, making pokemon stronger with nothing to do with them in the end makes this experience feel worthless. 2 - the colors are too washed. This game looks really ugly and I bet if you put a mod to saturate the colors a bit you will make the game look better. 3 - the grind. There is just way too much grind, especially in the second part of the DLC. I have a life, limited time and so many games I want to play. I cannot spend hours in Pokémon SV just to grind some points to get another starter or to invite another professor to have someone to battle with. For me, the entire Pokémon SV package is a mixed bag.

We were angry at them for giving us so much content thats why they chose to barely give us anything in the switch era
