Chinese people don’t go to China town anymore
07:37 Daly city is really the hustle. Real working class pare
You do great work, dude 👏 edited beautifully, great commentary and showcasing our culture ❤
Good for you guys! ❤ It's so great to see this because my family decended from Sonora. I grew up enjoying homemade Hot and delicious FLOUR TORTILLAS 😋 and we'd simply by spreading on some real butter with Strawberry Jam. ( try it 🎉❤) they make the best BURRITOS with Frijoles, CHEESE or Quesadillas or our favorite freshly made Beef and Pork CHORIZO ( no store bought in tube) along with Potatoes or simply with a Meal. I WISH YOU MUCH SUCCESS and happiness 🎉🎉❤ Thank You for Sharing this VIDEO.
Part Filipino myself from the Bay. Don’t speak Tagalog nor been to the country itself but have came across enough Filipinos to know how they speak. Also been served these foods growing up: - Chicken and pork Adobo - Champurrado - Some ube (basically I’ve known ube long before it became a foodie trend) - Sinigang - Rice porridge - Lumpia - Tocino - Longanisa - Flan on special occasions - etc. Also got Filipino peanut butter at the local Asian supermarket and halo halo whenever we found a place to get it.
Great job. I remember growing up in Oakland, Chinatown back in the 70's. Love that some of the same places are still going.
Thanks for your video: extra tips for extra time to spend and eat in Oakland's Chinatown. "你食咗飯未呀?" 🫶
Tcg pocket?
The tocino looks fantastic.
Is the black surface charring and do you guys eat it or cut it out?
it’s bark and it’s delicious
Wait till you guys try the drunken chicken. You take a beer, you pop it open, you put a couple of slices of onions or whatever spices you want to put on it and you spice up the chicken on the outside with some rub, you put the beer, can in the chicken and you sit it on the fire and watch it roast itself.Man, it comes out.Real good
Cuts out the fluff, no staged scenes, no slapping meat on a plate, great informative video and I'd definitely check this place out if I visit

I just found out about crystal mall last weekend! I'm so excited to head back there and try more greatness
Thanks for watching!
Hi boys. I just discovered your channel. I like the content but the name of your channel kind of disturbs me. By chance, did you intentionally choose this grammatical wrong name, "Did You Eat Yet"? I wonder why the correct title "Have You Eaten Yet?" not fit your channel?
lmao this is crazy
@HiDidYouEatYet Maybe grammar was only meant for the older generation. At least let your future kids know.
I miss the old Toppings restaurant Calan st
Back in 2007, when I was 23, I went to SF and stayed at my auntie’s house around Mission for 5 mos. I was so culture-shocked by how diverse the area was. But I was totally surprised by Daly City because I could eat Jollibee and everyone at the mall was Filipino. It didn’t feel like I took a trip outside the Philippines
❤
You can be Chinese and as long as appreciate our culture and food brother welcome to Filipino life--- CHINOY con el Pinoy
Absolute best wings! I think I’m going to pick some up today after seeing this
Wont be sustainable and wont be long lasting business.
Superstar was $1.50 in the 90’s
would be nice if anything was the same price it was in the 90s
@ nothing was $1.50 for a full plate in the 90’s they were the only spot until maybe 2007-10 when they went up to $4
Halal Filipino in the Bay ?
Thank you for your video. I've had cravings for awhile, and your video hit me just now. It's time I explored Little Saigon. "你食咗飯未呀?"
Thanks for watching!
I’m taglish born in the Pi raised in the Bay #BayNoY…. it’s too bad union city is like an hour away from I would definitely support my flip brothers and sisters restaurant anyways we need more of these restaurants and bodega Filipino stores out here in mini Philippines (Hercules)
Had no idea they are opening a Fikscue in Thrive City. That's awesome!
It’ll be soon! Excited to see it thrive out there too
This is a sick video to put out! Thank you for shouting out these places! Definitely going out there soon!
Thanks for watching!
Pineapple in a silog sounds like a war crime.
I'm a union city native and I love love love the work that you're doing with your channel. Keep it up, you're doing really important work and highlighting some amazing spots.
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching
All I eat is chicken adobo❤
Dude, there is so much more to Filipino Cuisine than adobo! Take the plunge!
It's so crazy how a lot of these guys got their interest in bbq started by watching RUclips videos, especially Aaron Franklin's.
Aaron Franklin is a legend in this era of BBQ for sure. I’ve watched every piece of BBQ content he’s put out too, from his older RUclips videos to his Masterclass videos to his books. A lot of great resources he’s put out to learn how to make great BBQ. For people like me who aren’t from Texas but have fallen in love with Texas BBQ, had to learn how to make it myself at home lol and he was like the obvious one to look at early on. There’s so many great BBQ youtuber creators though. Learned a lot from Chuds and Meat Church too
🔥🔥🔥🔥
As an Oakland native Filipino... This was one of the things that I wished the town had more of but grateful seeing it now.
I miss the vietnamese girls in San Jose.
Thanks Victor for sharing another great episode good content my wife and I we cook pho at home usually chicken thigh or oxtail it's one of the best soup dishes in the world which support and respect for Monterey California area
Thank you very much Victor this was an awesome experience I am from the Monterey California area and my grandfather's from the Philippines I'm half Filipino half Portuguese and I appreciate this content I'm proud to say I am Filipino and I'm very proud
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for sharing I needed to know where to get some good Texas style BBQ in our area I'm from Monterey but I'll definitely make the trip up to the Bay Area for some good brisket
had to learn how to make it myself cuz i couldn’t find anything as good as texas for a long time too, but def a little bit easier now
#sarapshop #uncletito
Great Video! I live right around the corner from Anna Lena, haven't tried it yet but will probably soon. Funny I walk by it all the time and never thought to check it out. I have eaten at most of the other places regularly. Always nice to see visitors enjoying Vancouver!
Im 33 now and i grew up in excelsior/Daly City. I grew up eating at all those spots Adonis was talking about. I feel seen. Dope to see.
Glad you enjoyed this!
Dude, I don't know if you know it, but your screen is totally blank.
huh
Sorry, working now. Must have been a glitch on my end.
Love this video, it brings back cherished childhood memories. I enjoy eating Doong any time I can get it. I made it several times but the hardest work was washing the ti leaves. Boiling them with baking soda, soaking them in cool water, then scrubbing them off individually (the front and back of the leaves), soaking them in water again, to prepare for the use was a backbreaking 2 day process... My favorite filling was a lot of ming beans, 2 pieces of salted pork, Chinese sausage sliced, salted egg and a chestnut.
I was the only one in our family that didn't care for this dish that mother made every New Year. I remember not liking the sticky dough nor textile in my mouth and teeth. I did like/enjoy the soup broth with other trimmings that they were cook in. It was great watching/understanding your video without having to read the subtitles! New subscriber and fan!!!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for shining lights on great foods in the Bay. Never had bbq like this ever.
Hope you can try these spots out!
Definitely check out Turo Cafe. I think they have better BBQ skewers than Fil-Am. Also they have amazing pancit.
Appreciate the recommendation! I’ll have to check it out.
another great job with this episode bro 🤜🤛🔥🔥🔥
yesssirrr
another day another banger

Check out Smoke and Meat if you find yourself in Stockton. Their brisket is off the hook!
def will check out!
Victor, I think you need to do an East Bay bakery video next. A lot of very good and unique bakeries have opened recently (Bake Sum, Forma, etc.)
Hella down for that, will add to my backlog
About damn time we get some good bbq here 🎉
