Harley Davidson as a company is going down the toilet. From the new woke CEO to the current date. I have a 22 Roadglide Std. I can buy a 2024 cheaper than what i paid for this one. As always the $7k invested on her “was for me” it brings no value to the bike. Hence, I am upside down. MY LAST HARLEY!

The more you out this dealership on blast, the longer they are going to keep your bike each time you take it there. Don’t think they won’t be petty and simply tell you they are waiting for a part that’s on back order and it won’t be here until February of 2025

I've received my RG in september in Italy and it was made beetwen May and July in Thailand and isnt affected by this problem so...I think that Harley know this issue long time before of this recall...

As a former wiring engineer the design rule is to add 10% longer wire than is needed. This adds a safety factor for bends and assembly process. I wonder if they are trying to reduce cost at the expense of quality again?

I went to my dealer and he said HD is going to send and extension to the harness so it can be re-routed in a safer way. The part should arrive around October 14th.

The recall kit isn’t the zip tie it’s a kit to repair harnesses that have chafing. Which, I would think that if the wiring actually chafed and grounded to the engine case, you would possibly have other damage.

Hey man. Love the channel. I have the same bike as you. I had a triangle light come on. Ecm code P06930 fan circuit relay. Did you get this when you were having your electrical gremlin's? Bike ran fine today for almost 100 mile ride. Just curious if this was the start of the current recall you're talking about. Thanks!

In todays market, if you want a reliable-as-stone motorcycle, Harley Davidson is not for you. That mantle belongs to Honda, Suzuki or BMW. Faults and defects have crept into the HD product since they now source lots of components like wiring harnesses, lights, instruments and CPU to Thailand. The connectors and quality of the cabling is as cheap as they can get away with. Its about as good as Royal Enfield (same source) and not commensurate with a $45,000 motorcycle. A new BMW R 1250 RT costs $26,000 fully optioned and I know what I would trust to get me across the country. A Goldwing is cheaper and even more reliable. There is no comparison on quality. So we need to get out of this notion that 1) HD is 100% American, its at most 70%, and 2) that the asking price is fair value. Its not.

I can see the reasoning behind using the 20w50 for all 3 holes. The oil is just splashing the clutch to keep it cool, thinner the better in my opinion. The transmission….its not like it is automatic transmission where you are relying on fluid pressure to change gears….the fluid is literally just lubricating the gears….I am gonna run 20w/50 in my 24 Street Glide..I just hit the 1000 mile service.

The W in your oil nomenclature does not mean weight. The W stands for winter…20W/50 your viscosity is 20 weight at lower temps such as winter time or cold start and the 50 is your viscosity at running temp.

Text flashes on your video that only 9 field issues have been found? If true, I think most of us are safe until we can get the recall closed at a dealer. Mine was good but I found another smaller wire against then oil filter housing and my horn wire shielding looks a little chaffed. I zip tied both but will report those to the dealer.

My bike is one of the wire that was rubbing now bike is stuck st dealer till some time in October 😢😢😢

Easy repair did mine. just get loom, sleeve, wire cover of your choosing to ensure no future rubbing. zip tie. done. Then go online and buy a skid plate to protect under sider of radiator/hoses. If you have damage DO NOT soldier and electric tape! Stupid ass advice! if you cant fix it right take it to dealer

Every time the MOCO introduces a "new" model of motorcycle there is nothing but trouble for the buyers. The problem is that the manufacture gives the bike to "Sales" before they thoroughly road test the bikes. This is not the first time that the MOCO has introduced a turd too early. Never, ever buy the first year model of a "new" bike, wait a year or two, to give them time to sort all the bugs out. You should not be the beta tester. The last time they introduced a "turd" too early was in model year 2017 when the first M8 models were rolled out. It took three years for them to fix all the problems. Bad sensors, bad oil pumps, bad gaskets etc.

why are you not using the infotainment system? thats the huge upgrade on these road glides and reason why I bought one!

Just a Zip Tie fix for my SG. 45-minute service. Every vehicle and motorcycle I've had that is first year new gen had recalls. You want to be first with the new toy you will have recalls.

Took my bike 24 street glide in for my 1k service last week , they did the recall fix for me and updated my infomatinment aswell for me , no longer have issues with my speakers now either

Where do I look at harness etc

Got mine looked at yesterday they broke the connector so now gotta go back in 3 weeks. Now has a light on too

Had mine inspected yesterday, my voltage regulator wire harness was not rubbing but they added a ziptie to prevent potential in the future. Took less than 20 minutes at my local HD.

Absolutely correct. I had the exact issue. They found a wire under the cover in the wiring loom that runs underneath the tank. It was a tight stretched wire that rubbed through. They also had to replace the voltage regulator, because of the short. Been great since absolutely no problems.

I picked up a Moto Guzzi V85TT while my 23.5 CVO was perpetually broken and getting a new harness. It’s an amazing machine! My dealer helped me get out of the rotten 23.5, which replaced the rotten 22 Pan Am. I now have a 24 CVO ST to compliment the Guzzi. They are a great pair!
