You don’t need a SENA for CarPlay it can be CARDO too. Also, you do not need to turn on ignition to get into the Infotainment System….hold down the cycle button on top of the left bar for a couple seconds and it comes right up.
Man your price breakdown was a big help for me to get a baseline on what to look for thank you. I pulled the trigger on a black on black 2024 road glide last week and the dealer didn’t tell me anything about breaking in a new motor, it’s my first Harley and my first brand new bike. Could you do a video on tips for breaking in a new motor, some personal tips, service intervals, etc? Appreciate the content
Congratulations brother, my first new vehicle ever as well!🙌⚡️ I’d love to do something like that, it will probably come during the winter as the parts installing frenzy I’m currently going through slows, but I will give you some simple intervals right here right now. Me personally. Keep it under 3k for first 500 miles and vary rpm range. That’s rather important to help rings fully seat. Don’t ride at constant rpm like freeway riding at all if you can manage. After 500 miles, ride it like you stole it. Change all 3 oils at 1000 miles. I’m going to do them again at about 3500 miles. Just because there is still more metal shavings making their way through the bike during these first few thousand miles. Once everything is dialed in I’ll probably do engine every 3k and tranny and primary every 6k. It’s cheap easy insurance. But that’s just me personally. I ride hard and am used to frequent fluid changes from Moto racing.

From what I have been told is if you buy the embedded Nav for $350, the 3 year subscription covers the download and weather and traffic alerts for 3 years. The Nav is downloaded and stays on the bike indefinitely, so after 3 years you lose the traffic and weather alerts but keep the Nav. Overall not a bad deal if you want the factory nav.
You are correct, found it in sport display! Are we sure it’s oil temp not water temp? Not that it matters much either way, glad to have a rough idea of where we’re at!
Also, I heard some buzz going around that Harley has a new business deal with Cardo headsets, and that if you use other brands it only give mono sound in your helmet speakers. And if you have a Cardo pack talk edge then it opens up all audio options and what not.
Yes you have use the Harley branded headset . We paired the Harley 50s Sena today and it paired but no CarPlay. So only the Harley cardio pack talk will work.
Really bummed about the navigation, no satellite radio and no accessory outlet. Have a 22 RG and was thinking about trading it in but hate to lose all those features.
I see where your issue is with your sena and the RG. You said you already use the headset for music and don't need the bike for that, which makes sense. For everyone else, once we disconnect our Senas/Cardos from the phone, we can connect it to the bike and not deal with the bluetooth issue anymore from our phones.
Great video, thanks! A question regarding Apple Car Play: I've seen videos where people added a bluetooth dongle and USB adapter to enable Apple Car Play, but if you have a Sena or similar headset, as long as you've connected it to the bike via Bluetooth you do not need the dongle?
Great job ! My system keeps messaging to connect to headset and im not using a headset. How do I cancel that so I can get car play please I just bought the 2024 Streetglide in the white onyx pearl
Amazon has plenty of those BT adapters, they are very small and rechargeable. They last a long time and you keep in your pocket or bike. After turn the bike on, you turn the BT transmitter and you can use Carplay. Note: you will need to mate it first time to the bike like you do with an headset. These things are cheap.
Enjoy your videos Question I picked up my 24 RG yesterday and on my 17 RG as soon as I plugged my I phone in the fairing compartment to the usb cord my car play showed up when I do this on the 24 it is charging my phone but no apple carplay Anything I’m doing wrong ?
You cannot just plug your phone in to run CarPlay. You either need to get a usb-microphone off Amazon to fool the system into thinking you have a headset, and connect it an your phone via Bluetooth, or you connect your headset and phone via Bluetooth to run it. It’s a little bit complicated but once you have it down it’s straight forward.
Hey bro, 2024’s you don’t need a Bluetooth helmet adapter to run CarPlay. you'll just need a Bluetooth Audio Receiver that looks like a USB memory stick, and a USB-C to 3.0 to charge the phone at the same time. Just open the compartment on the right side to access the connector, plug in the adapter to activate Carplay, no subscription and it costs approximately 30.00 bucks
Yo! Congrats on the bike. I'm going to pick one of these up also. Did you end up going with the extended warranty? Or just stick to the moco 2year? Everything cool seems to void the warranty so why bother ya know, but then it might be good to cover the electronics i guess idk. Here in CA since 23 the SE tuner hasn't been approved by C.A.R.B. so its unavailable to us here. So I'd have to go aftermarket on the tuner anyway. I'm thinking 2 years is plenty of time with the amount of riding I do to "find out" and 2 years with no engine mods is never going to happen anyway haha!
If you're still under warranty, take that tuner off before going into a Harley dealer for any warranty claims. Unless it's a Harley tuner, they'll void the warranty.
I went with the standard factory 2 year on whole bike, lifetime on powertrain warranty. I don’t like paying upfront taxes and interest on more than I have to, plus I do intend to go standalone ecm, exhaust, cam, etc.
@@keithrad1 if a non-barley tuner has been on the bike then it will leave a marker in the ECU and your engine warranty is void... no matter if you take it off or not
