Of course they had non binary people back in the early days. They had people who believed in witches and all kinds of crazy things. Who would think people in the past were more reasonable than they are today. It's quite the opposite. That's the opposite of organic change -development. Inorganic, artificial, indoctrination, propaganda...actively encouraging people to use non gendered language is pushing down on people's throats. It's Policing language ! "western gender binary" Wtf? Just like colonialism, slavery, conquest ("stolen" land) or genocide are not invented by white europeans -gender binary is universal ! Because Homo sapiens is sexually reproducing BINARY species.
